Apache configuration for silent rewrite of query strings like codeigniter

Codeigniter rewrites query strings like the following: http://somedomain.com/index.php?q=something to become: http://somedomain.com/index.php/q/something I'd like to imitate this behavior on a (very) lightweight website I am developing for a wedding RSVP system. I don't want the bloat of codeigniter, nor do I need anything else that it provides. The only thing I'd like is this. Unfortunately, I don't know how to setup a mod-rewrite rule that accomplishes this. I can setup a rule that translates /q/something into ?q=something, but I can't get one that does that without changing the URL the user is viewing. I'm basically looking for something that is, in effect, a "silent" version of the rewrite. That is, I want something that rewrites q/something to ?q=something, but leaves the user's URL in their address bar as q/something. Thanks in advance!

Nginx with Passenger setup problems

I'm trying to setup nginx webserver with Passenger support for Ruby on Rails application on Ubuntu 10.04 (on sub URI). All went fine until I tried to access the server/application from the browser. path problem with mod_rewrite, XDebug, PDT, XAMPP and Windows XP

My mod_rewrite turns accounts/create into index.php?folder=accounts&action=create, but pdt ignores it, so when I try to start a PHP Script debug session, I have to type a folder location in the file field and pdt doesn't accept. When PDT auto generates the URL for the PHP Web Page debug session, I go to http://localhost/myframe/index.php?XDEBUG%5FSESSION%5FSTART=ECLIPSE%5FDBGP&KEY=12569067976875, but myframe is in the frameworks folder, so I get a 404 error. When I check a breakpoint, uncheck Auto Generate, add frameworks before myframe in URL, set Start Debug from http://localhost/frameworks/myframe/accounts/create in Advanced and click Debug, the debugger doesn't stop at the breakpoint.

IIS 7 on 2008r2 shows blank page

I am using IIS7 on Windows Server 2008r2. I have recently installed php and IIS. I am trying to browse to the index.php but it returns a blank page. It loads the favicon and the header of my page. When I load an info.php file it is not blank. If I disable Anonymus Authentication it the same index.php returns IIS 7.5 Detailed Error - 401.2 - Unauthorized. What is strange is I installed this exact code onto another fresh IIS install I just did and it loads fine. Permissions for the directory are the same for both.

I'm trying to get a Curl Response from an outside server, however I noticed I cant neither PING the server in question nor connect to it. I tried disabling the iptables firewall but I had no success. .htaccess working on remote server but does not work on localhost. Getting 404 errors on localhost

MY PROBLEM: When I visit localhost the site does not work. It shows some text from the site but it seems the server can not locate any other files. Here is a snippet of the errors from firebug: "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - localhost/css/popup.css" "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - localhost/css/style.css" "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - localhost/css/player.css" "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - localhost/css/ui-lightness/jquery-ui-1.8.11.custom.css" "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - localhost/js/jquery.js" It seems my server is looking for the files in the wrong places. For example, localhost/css/popup.css is actually located at localhost/app/webroot/css/popup.css. I have my site setup on a remote server with the same exact configurations and it works perfectly fine. I am just having this issue trying to run the site on my laptop at localhost. I edited my VirtualHosts file DocumentRoot and to /home/user/public_html/site.com/public/app/webroot/ and this reduces some errors but I feel that this is wrong and sort of hacking it since I didn't use these setting on my production server which works. The last note I want to make is that the website uses dynamic URLs. I dont know if that has anything to do with it. For example, on the production server the URLS are: site.com/#hello/12321. HERES WHAT I AM WORKING WITH: I have a LAMP server setup on my laptop which runs on Ubuntu 11.10. Percona MySQL 5.5 fails to start

PS it seems like something else apart from apparmor is affecting permissions to access mysql files after i changed data directory to more default one - /var/lib/mysql and "Can't create test file" error is gone, but "'/var/mysql/bin/bin-log.index' not found (Errcode: 13)" is still there PPS so i installed apparmor back and added all folders to mysqld's profile and errors mentioned above are now gone(or mysql doesn't even get to that point now) what i have now is this: /usr/sbin/mysqld: error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory banging my head against the wall.

ffmpeg open webcam using YUYV but i want MJPEG

I need ffmpeg to open webcam (logitech c910) in MJPEG mode, because the webcam can give ~24 using MJPEG "protocol" and only ~10 fps using the YUYV. Can i choose between them using ffmpeg command line? xx@(none) ~ $ v4l2-ctl --list-formats ioctl: VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT Index : 0 Type : Video Capture Pixel Format: 'YUYV' Name : YUV 4:2:2 (YUYV) Index : 1 Type : Video Capture Pixel Format: 'MJPG' (compressed) Name : MJPEG My current command line: ffmpeg -y -f alsa -i hw:3,0 -f video4linux2 -r 20 -s 1280x720 -i /dev/video0 -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -vcodec libx264 /tmp/web.avi ffmpeg produces corrupted h264 stream when i record from webcam, but normal h264 strem when i record from x11grab. Another codecs (mjpeg, mpeg4) works well with webcam... But this is another story.

Hi folks, I cannot connect to the database anymore, I'm getting: Cannot open user default database. Login failed. I have deleted the database during a previous session and then tried to recreate it. But the recreate failed. Now I am stuck with this error, what can I do? Edit: I'm using Windows Authentication Any ideas? Fixed: use the command: sqlcmd -E -d master then type: ALTER LOGIN [Your Windows Login] WITH DEFAULT_DATABASE=master GO :)

Apache misbehaving (returning 404s)

CentOS 6.4 64-bit Apache 2.4.6 PHP-FPM 5.5.4 Homepage from root loads fine http://csillamvilag.com But all other pages return 404 (CMS is WordPress). I am also able to access and log into WordPress backend. Additionally, Menalto Gallery 3 seems to be loading ok http://csillamvilag.com/kepek/ but all OpenCart pages return 404 http://csillamvilag.com/shop/ or http://csillamvilag.com/shop/hu/ Apache is running as user apache. All relevant WordPress and OpenCart files are owned by user apache. When I click on a photo in Vista I get a fix button: When I click on a photo in Windows 7 I don't get a fix button: I used to use this fix button often to fix red-eye and alter the brightness quickly, and the auto-saving was so fast. If I can't get "Windows Photo Viewer" to do this, I'll have to http://www.irfanview.com again to do this.

path problem with mod_rewrite, XDebug, PDT, XAMPP and Windows XP

My mod_rewrite turns accounts/create into index.php?folder=accounts&action=create, but pdt ignores it, so when I try to start a PHP Script debug session, I have to type a folder location in the file field and pdt doesn't accept. When PDT auto generates the URL for the PHP Web Page debug session, I go to http://localhost/myframe/index.php?XDEBUG%5FSESSION%5FSTART=ECLIPSE%5FDBGP&KEY=12569067976875, but myframe is in the frameworks folder, so I get a 404 error. When I check a breakpoint, uncheck Auto Generate, add frameworks before myframe in URL, set Start Debug from http://localhost/frameworks/myframe/accounts/create in Advanced and click Debug, the debugger doesn't stop at the breakpoint.

Vmware Player network adapters have no network or internet access in Windows 7 enterprise [closed]

As per the title. My VMWare player installation has setup the two network adaptor VMnet1 and VMnet8 and they are picked up as unidentified networks with no network access (i need this to activate my windows server installation on it). The option to change the network location is not available (this might be because of network policy on the domain despite having set this as configurable in the local security policy section). Is there anyway i can change how these networks are detected or alter the configuration of vmware to get around this?

Snow Leopard .htaccess issue

Hello, I'm running into an issue on Snow Leopard. I am just using the standard Apache2 that came with it but it doesn't seem to want to use my .htaccess file. Here is the appropriate part of my httpd.conf file: <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All AuthConfig Order deny,allow Deny from all </Directory> And here is my .htaccess file: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA] I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, but at this point, I just cant see it! All it's doing is allowing me to not have the index.php file, this worked on Leopard and isn't working in Snow Leopard. What am I missing? Thanks Joe C
