    Hi All, When I use FaceBook API for retrieving posts information, I found that the returned information are changing all the time. for e.g., when I retrieved information 2 times with 1mins interval, one record appears in the 1st time, and disapeared in the 2nd time. https://graph.facebook.com/search?q=baby&type=post&limit=100&since=2010-05-19&until=2010-05-21 Does anyone know what happen?   • Why touching "d_name" makes calls to readdir() fail?

    Hi, I'm trying to write a little helper for Windows which eventually will accept a file extension as an argument and return the number of files of that kind in the current directory. To do so, I'm reading the file entries in the directories and after getting the extension I'd like to convert it to lowercase to compare it with the yet-to-add specified argument. When converting the extension to lowercase I found that touching even a duplicate string of the d_name variable will cause a strange behaviour, like no more calls to readdir are called. A quick google search for "Javascript variable length array" doesn't seem to yield anything, which would be surprising if it were possible to do this. Should I instead have a String that I keep appending to with a separator character instead, or is there a better way to get a varible length array-like variable.

  • Rails: find by day of week with timestamp

    I need to grab the records for same day of the week for the preceeding X days of the week. There must be a better way to do it than this: Transaction.find_by_sql "select * from transactions where EXTRACT(DOW from date) = 1 and organisation_id = 4 order by date desc limit 7" It gets me what I need but is Postgres specific and not very "Rails-y". Date is a timestamp. Anyone got suggestions?

    I'm using Boost Python to wrap some C++ functions that I've created. One of my C++ functions contains 22 arguments. Boost complains when I try to compile my solution with this function, and I'm trying to figure out if it is just because this function has too many arguments. Does anyone know if such a limit exists? I've copied the error I'm getting below, not the code because I figure someone either knows the answer to this or not - and if there is no limit then I'll just try to figure it out myself.     Hello: I'm tyring to remove lowercase sentence fragments from standard text files using regular expresions or a simple Perl oneliner. These are commonly referred to as speech or attribution tags, for example - he said, she said, etc. This example shows before and after using manual deletion: Original: "Ah, that's perfectly true!" exclaimed Alyosha. "Oh, do leave off playing the fool! Some idiot comes in, and you put us to shame!" cried the girl by the window, suddenly turning to her father with a disdainful and contemptuous air. "Wait a little, Varvara!" cried her father, speaking peremptorily but looking at them quite approvingly. "That's her character," he said, addressing Alyosha again. "Where have you been?" he asked him. "I think," he said, "I've forgotten something... my handkerchief, I think.... Well, even if I've not forgotten anything, let me stay a little." He sat down. Father stood over him. "You sit down, too," said he. All lower case sentence fragments manually removed: "Ah, that's perfectly true!" "Oh, do leave off playing the fool! Some idiot comes in, and you put us to shame!" "Wait a little, Varvara!" "That's her character," "Where have you been?" "I think," "I've forgotten something... my handkerchief, I think.... Well, even if I've not forgotten anything, let me stay a little." He sat down. Father stood over him. "You sit down, too," I've changed straight quotes " to balanced and tried: ” (...)+[.] Of course, this removes some fragments but deletes some text in balanced quotes and text starting with uppercase letters. [^A-Z] didn't work in the above expression. I realize that it may be impossible to achieve 100% accuracy but any useful expression, perl, or python script would be deeply appreciated. Cheers, Aaron

  • Print newline in PHP in single quotes

    Hey all, I try to use single quotes as much as possible and I've noticed that I can't use \n in single quotes. I know I can just enter a newline literally by pressing return, but that screws up the indentation of my code.. Is there some ASCII character or something that I can type that will produce newline when I'm using single quotes? Thanks! Matt Mueller
