Is there a way in python to programmatically determine the width of the console? I mean the number of characters that fits in one line without wrapping, not the pixel width of the window.

I am a new user of Java swing. I need to be able to create a popup with row info when the user clicks on that row. I managed to incorporate the mouseClick event reaction in my table class, and I have the row info available. But I don't know how to notify the main window about the event so it can display the dialog box/popup box. Can you help me?
Hi I am trying to merge one single revision using CL in SVN using this command:
svn merge -r 5454 URL
but I am getting the following error
svn: Second revision required
My revision is not the latest revision but buried about 90 revisions from the latest update. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
It looks like I'm missing something basic.

Do I have to use JavaScript? I was told that it's possible with css, but I can't find the relevant property - or I'm doing something wrong.

I'm writing a program that uses scp to copy files in a bigger java program. As it stands now, the program freezes up while the scp is copying the file, which can take a few minutes, so I'd like to be able to display the progress of the scp or at the very least get the terminal window with the scp progress to show up! Any suggestions?
I forgot the array syntax while on Zsh-commandline:
$ hello=[1,2,3,4] %ERR:
I want to fix the problem by substitution. In Vim, I would do :.s@,@ @g.

I've been working on a small and simple program that i drop files onto and based on certian rules they are moved to diffrent places.
the program works fine unless i drop more than a few files on the program then it kicks back an error (that appears to be more windows than anything) that the start up command c:\myapp.exe \file \file \file is to long
I realize i could set up a background proccess but i really would prefer that this program not run in the backround (where it would be idle 99.999999999% of the time)
Can anyone think of any way around this limitation?
Hi guys,
I am parsing command line options in Perl using Getopt::Long. I am forced to use prefix - (one dash) for short commands (-s) and -- (double dash) for long commands (ex. --input=file), but problem is, that there is one special option (-r=) so it is long option for its requirement for argument, but it has to have one dash (-) prefix not double dash (--) like other long options. Is possible to setup Getopt::Long to accept these?
I am working on a (WPF + C#) application. I have to implement search functionality. It will search all the occurrences of a particular string on the specific part of Window. What can be the best way to do this?

I have the following syntax in the .cmd file, where PathList is console application with .exe as extension.
cd D:\Sample
D:
PathList 2> file.txt
This syntax works fine if the file is saved with .bat as extension, but if save it with .cmd extension it throws error saying
'PathList' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Please can i know what is the issue with saving it with .cmd extension
I have this in one of my NUnit tests. I'm using R# to step through my test. The console window is not popping up to show me the contents for that foreach loop...not sure what I'm missing but yes, there is data for it to loop through so it's not like there's no data here
foreach (PostEntry post in posts)
{
Console.WriteLine("id: " + post.Id);
Console.WriteLine("title: " + post.Title);
Console.WriteLine("body: " + post.Body);
Console.ReadLine();
}
How do I limit the visibility of an Eclipse command in menus and the toolbar to just one perspective? It is currently showing up in all perspectives, but it only makes sense to have it around when working in this particular perspective. It seems like this could be done with "contexts", but I was wondering if there was something simpler.
Hi,
I have the following code. I expected to see "archive" object on my firebug console, but I see Window object. Is it normal?
var archive = function(){}
archive.prototype.action = {
test: function(callback){
callback();
},
test2: function(){
console.log(this);
}
}
var oArchive = new archive();
oArchive.action.test(oArchive.action.test2);
