• Apache Solr: Setting HTTP Response Headers From solrconfig.xml For CORS

  Is it possible to setup the sending of a custom HTTP response header from within the solrconfig.xml file? I am thinking that it might be possible to add some configuration to the <requestDispatcher> since it controls caching headers. I am sure this is possible in the servlet container configuration (Jetty, Tomcat, etc.), but I would like to do this from within Solr's configuration files if at all possible. If this makes any difference, I am attempting to set an Access-Control-Allow-Origin header for CORS AJAX requests for a different host.

• Is there a WPF "WrapGrid" control available or an easy way to create one?

  Essentially I want a wrapPanel, but I would like items to snap to a grid rather than be pressed up to the left, so I can get a nice uniform looking grid, that automatically consumes available space. WrapPanel handles the resize part. WPF.Contrib.AutoGrid handles a nice automatic grid. Anyone got a control that combines them? My use case is I have a series of somewhat irregularly shaped controls. I would like them to appear in nice columns so the wrap panel should snap to the next "tabstop" when placing a control

• Problems with FlowLayoutPanel inside Panel with AutoSize

  I have the following controls hierarchy: Form Panel (AutoSize = true, AutoSizeMode = GrowAndShrink, Dock = Top) FlowLayoutPanel (AutoSize = true, AutoSizeMode = GrowAndShrink, Dock = Top) Control1, Control2, Control3, Control4, ... FlowLayoutPanel (AutoSize = true, AutoSizeMode = GrowAndShrink, Dock = Top) Control1, Control2, Control3, Control4, ... Here is how it layouts in various sizes: Fully visible all 8 buttons, but the Panel forgot to shrink The first FlowLayoutPanel are fully visible, but the second is only half visible, button8 is missing The first FlowLayoutPanel are fully visible, but the second is only half visible, button7 and button8 are missing The first FlowLayoutPanel are fully visible, but the second is only quarter visible, button 6, button7 and button8 are missing As you see, i'm not satisfied from this behavior. Is there something i can do to get all this work?

I have created scrollbar style (using standard scroll bard template - Blend 2) I am not sure how to apply this style "MyScrollStyle" to a ListBox Template . I saw on ListBox template they have Scroll Viewer -- which should contain the scrollbar Assuming it is something simple as ---Content Added--- After going through lot of xaml in template edit I kind of understood how to apply style. • Communicate with the local machine from a web page

  Hello. We have a web application. There are physical devices that we need to be able to communicate with, and we have access to all of our clients computers to install whatever software we need. Now, for the question: Is there a way to make this browser-agnostic? As in, not requiring ActiveX controls? One of my ideas was to install a custom made webserver on each client and then have javascript on our webpage that communicates with that webserver. This could be done by the same way that http://earlz.biz.tm javascript can access subdomains assigned to 127.0.0.1 such as http://loopback.earlz.biz.tm The problem with this of course is that the client's custom made webserver would be forced to run on port 80(which will have conflicts at least sometimes), or we would have to use a nonstandard port for our web application, which is quite undesirable. Does anyone else have ideas on how to do this?

• WCF <operation>Async methods not generated in proxy interface

  I want to use the Asnyc methods rather than the Begin on my WCF service client proxy because I'm updating WPF controls and need to make sure they're being updated from the UI thread. I could use the Dispatcher class to queue items for the UI thread but that's not what I'm asking about.. I've configured the service reference to generate the asynchronous operations, but it only generates the methods in proxy's implementation, not it's interface. The interface only contains syncronous and Begin methods. Why aren't these methods generated in the interface and is there a way to do this, or do I have to create a derived interface to manually add them?

  We have recently moved to Delphi 2009. I can't find the TShellListView and TShellTreeView controls. Do I need to install something extra? From searching the web it seems they are shipped with Delphi 2009 but for some reason they havent been installed. Has anyone had a similar problem? Update: This is so unbelivably idiotic. I have a dll named AxInterop.Microsoft.Office.Interop.VisOcx and I refer it to instantiate an object of the type AxDrawingControl(). • How do I add additional data to a DataGridRowGroupHeader?

  I have a DataGrid that is showing some data via a PagedCollectionView with one group definition. I have created a Style for the corresponding DataGridRowGroupHeader under which I have added a ControlTemplate containing an additional TextBlock and a spacing Rectangle. I would like to bind the widths of these controls to the widths of particular columns, but I am struggling to get this working. I would also like to bind the Text property of the TextBlock to a value. I tried binding the widths via the Width property of a Rectangle in resources but this didn't work (possibly because the Rectangle was never drawn and therefore didn't calculate it's layout). However, I believe both sets of bindings can be performed with some use of one or more ValueConverter implementations, but I was wondering if there was a better way. Can any of this be achieved through the definition of a ControlTemplate?

• Binding collection indexes to a WPF DataGrid at runtime

  After trying to develop our own control to display a table of data we stumbled on the WPF toolkit DataGrid and thought we were saved. A couple hours later I'm scratching my head trying to figure out if it can do what we really want it to do. The DataGrid seems to be based on displaying various properties of a single object, where I think I need something that can display a collection's items, I want to display a table of strings with a variable number of rows and a variable number of columns. Each row represents the state of a number of inputs at a given time. The number of samples may change, and the number of inputs may change at runtime. As a result, I can't create a custom object that represents a row with a property for each input. This makes the DataGrid binding more complicated, since I can't bind to a fixed property for each column. I thought I found a workaround for this by binding to ".[" + channelIndex + ]" but it hasn't worked out quite the way I wanted. Right now I have a collection of a collection of strings that represents the two-dimensional array of strings. I'm using ObservableCollection so string change event notifications work, but I can use any collection type needed. It looked like everything was working great until I realized that every row was showing the same line of data. Binding in C# is not my strong suit, so I'm kind of lost on what's going wrong. • ASP.NET MVC2 and AJAX

  I am currently developing a new website utilizing ASP.NET MVC2. Much of what I want to do with the website (from a front-end standpoint) involves AJAX-y-type tasks. Two examples: I want to display forms, and switch between them via a drop-down menu (or through links) without having to go back and hit the server every single time. I want the user to be able to select points on a Chart Control and have portions of the page refresh with the appropriate data depending on what he/she selects (partial page refresh). In both these cases, I am able to accomplish what I wish to accomplish using the traditional web forms event handlers, etc. Unfortunately, the use of a ScriptManager violates the spirit of MVC. It seems as if MVC prevents the use of many of the controls that are available to ASP.NET. So, my question is: how do I use AJAX and make AJAX calls without utilizing ScriptManager and the web forms method of utilizing event handlers?

  Hello, in the ressource-tag of my MainWindowView.xaml I have this markup: RenderOptions.EdgeMode="Aliased" to get a general sharp look of my whole application. Using mostly rectangular shapes/controls this works fine. But for my validation error symbols I use a red ellipse with a white cross or "X" in it. The ellipse is using now the global "Aliased" settings what looks not good because I can see the pixelated border of the ellipse. Using now does NOT change anything ??? I always set in wpf local settings override global settings ?

• Initiating UserControl via MVVM in WPF / focus issue.

  Hi there I have a few usercontrols loaded into a tabcontrol via MVVM in WPF. Within the XAML for the usercontrol I am setting focus to a textbox using the FocusManager, however this appears to only work when the first instance of the usercontrol is created. Just to test I added a loaded event handler to the usercontrol - this is only called on the first instance. I'm using data templates for the user controls as follows: <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type local:UserTypeViewModel}"> <local:UserTypeView /> </DataTemplate> The textbox is focused as follows: FocusManager.FocusedElement="{Binding ElementName=txtName}" Additionally I'm using a global event handler (for the textbox GotFocus event) which selects all the text using a dispatcher. If anyone has any tips on how to achieve focus with every usercontrol I'd be very grateful. Thanks, Ben.

• How to use JQuery UI datepicker with bgIframe on IE 6

  I am trying to use the JQuery UI datepicker (latest stable version 1.5.2) on an IE6 website. But I am having the usual problems with combo boxes (selects) on IE6 where they float above other controls. I have tried adding the bgIframe plugin after declaring the datepicker with no luck. My guess is that the .ui-datepicker-div to which I am attaching the bgIframe doesn't exist until the calendar is shown. I am wondering if I can put the .bgIframe() command directly into the datepicker .js file and if so, where? • iPad: Merge concept of SplitViewController and NavigationController in RootView?

  I'm having trouble merging the two concepts of using a SplitViewController in my main view and having the "RootView" controller that controls the left panes popup/sidebar table view. I want to have the left "RootView" act as a navigation menu, but how do I do this when the RootView is tied through MainWindow.xib into the left pane of the SplitView? Basically, I want the left navigation to work just like the built-in email applications folder drilldown navigation. Is there an example iPad project out there that uses both SplitView and a NavigationView for the left/Root pane?

• Outlook 2003 View Control with C#

  I want to embed a custom c# windows form (or WPF) user control into an outlook view. I am using Outlook 2003 and Visual Studio 2008. I did download an example for Outlook 2007 here: http://blogs.msdn.com/e2eblog/archive/2008/01/09/outlook-folder-homepage-hosting-wpf-activex-and-windows-forms-controls.aspx and also here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa479345.aspx I tested it and under 2007 it is working, but for 2003 i am getting the following error when i want to open the view: Could not complete the operation due to error 80131509 I can start it from Visual Studio, it is registering the folder just fine, debugging works and all that. It creates an HTML page that contains my type as an object parameter - but the Initialize method that should be called is either not present (not shown via JS) or it has some errors. The breakpoints for RegisterSafeForScripting are also never hit - maybe related to that. Thx in advance!

• How can I resolve exception: Error executing child request for ChartImg.axd

  I'm using the Chart Controls for Mircosoft .NET Framerwork. Most of the time they work perfectly. However, if I leave a page for longer than 20-30 mins and then try to refresh the page, I get an error saying: Error executing child request for ChartImg.axd. Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Error executing child request for ChartImg.axd. If I update the page using an AJAX update panel I get the following error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Error executing child request for ChartImg.axd It seems that the chart handler stops after a period of inactivity. Most of the webpages I've looked at for this error are for situations when this error is displayed all the time. In my case it is only displayed after a period of inactivity. Can someone provide a better explanation of what is happening and suggest a solution?

• How do I base a style on a Silverlight toolkit theme style

  I've being trying to add a theme from the Silverlight toolkit to a project. In the project there are a number of existing styles used in the layout. The problem is when any control has an explict style applied to it does not receive any attributes of the style from the theme. In WPF I would use something like BasedOn={x:Type TextBox}, but this is not supported in Silverlight. I've considered going through the theme and setting a key for every style and then using BasedOn to create both an implicit style to use with the ImplictStyleManager, as well as another explicit style for use with the existing styled controls. Have you got any better ideas?

  I'm building a custom WPF control that derives from TabControl. In the ControlTemplate, I'm using a ItemsControl to display a list that is being bound from the template (an observable collection of type FileMenuItem). During program execution, I'm getting the following error in the output window: ItemTemplate and ItemTemplateSelector are ignored for items already of the ItemsControl's container type; Type='FileMenuItem' The type FileMenuItem is derived from MenuItem. I googled the error and couldn't find anything about it, has anyone run into this while developing custom controls? I can post more code if it would help. Thanks!

  Currently I'm making something in WPF that has a border that contains a grid and other controls. The problem I'm facing is that whenever I set the Border.Effect property to a drop shadow effect every control contained in the border now has a drop shadow. Is there a way to set the shadow just to the border and not every control contained in the border? • How To Create An ASP.NET Designer Host

  I have been asked to build an application where I can drag and drop few WebControls onto the WebPage designer surface. So far I have read some articles on .NET Framework Design-Time architecture, like, MSDN Article: Hosting WinForms Designers, Developer Function Article etc. But I can't a find a way to host WebForms designer. The only open source implementation that I could find was Mono Develop ASP.NET Visual Designer. But in mono they have used GTK# & Gecko etc to host the designer. I can't find a way to do the same using WinForms. Please suggest me what should I do. Give me some pointers. Should I go ahead and implement it using GTK# and Gecko? PS: My requirement is not very huge. I need just a way to drag and drop simple web controls and save the page.
