  • Maven Ant BuildException with maven-antrun-plugin ... unable to find javac compiler

    Im trying to make Maven call an ANT build for some legacy code. the ant build builds correctly through ant however when i call it using the maven ant plugin it fails with the following error: [ ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-antrun-plugin:1.6:run (default) on project CoreServices: An Ant BuildException has occured: The following error occurred while executing this line: [ERROR] C:\dev\projects\build\build.xml:158: The following error occurred while executing this line: [ERROR] C:\dev\projects\build\build.xml:62: The following error occurred while executing this line: [ERROR] C:\dev\projects\build\build.xml:33: The following error occurred while executing this line: [ERROR] C:\dev\projects\ods\build.xml:41: Unable to find a javac compiler; [ERROR] com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath. [ERROR] Perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK. [ERROR] It is currently set to "C:\bea\jdk150_11\jre" My javac exists at C:\bea\jdk150_11\bin and this works for all other things. Im not sure where Maven is getting this version of JAVA_HOME. JAVA_HOME in windows envionrmental variables is set to C:\bea\jdk150_11\ as it should be.   • EF recovery from invalidoperationexception caused by server being down

    I had a windows service relying on EF, and it was running fine until the server went down. The problem was after the server went up again, it didn't fix itself and still threw the error: INTERNAL ERROR: Execution of the command requires an open and available connection. The connection's current state is broken. Not being very proficient in EF I'm not aware of how I could recover from such a scenario, and why it occurred in the first place? Anyone had this happen before?

  • How to configure path to mappings to be used in hibernate.cfg.xml with maven (hbm2cfgxml)

    Hi, can any one tell me how to force maven to precede mapping .hbm.xml files in the automatically generated hibernate.cfg.xml file with package path? My general idea is, I'd like to use hibernate-tools via maven to generate the persistence layer for my application. So, I need the hibernate.cfg.xml, then all my_table_names.hbm.xml and at the end the POJO's generated. Yet, the hbm2java goal won't work as I put *.hbm.xml files into the src/main/resources/package/path/ folder but hbm2cfgxml specifies the mapping files only by table name, i.e.: <mapping resource="MyTableName.hbm.xml" /> So the big question is: how can I configure hbm2cfgxml so that hibernate.cfg.xml looks like below: <mapping resource="package/path/MyTableName.hbm.xml" /> My pom.xml looks like this at the moment: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>hibernate3-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.2</version> <executions> <execution> <id>hbm2cfgxml</id> <phase>generate-sources</phase> <goals> <goal>hbm2cfgxml</goal> </goals> <inherited>false</inherited> <configuration> <components> <component> <name>hbm2cfgxml</name> <implemetation>jdbcconfiguration</implementation> <outputDirectory>src/main/resources/</outputDirectory> </component> </components> <componentProperties> <packagename>package.path</packageName> <configurationFile>src/main/resources/hibernate.cfg.xml</configurationFile> </componentProperties> </configuration> </execution> </executions> </plugin> And then the second question: is there a way to tell maven to copy resources to the target folder before executing hbm2java?   • Can I create an ASP.NET ImageButton that doesn't postback?

    I'm trying to use the ImageButton control for client-side script execution only. I can specify the client-side script to execute using the OnClientClick property, but how do I stop it from trying to post every time the user clicks it? There is no reason to post when this button is clicked. I've set CausesValidation to False, but this doesn't stop it from posting.

    CouchDB is great, I like its replication functionality, but it's a bit larger and slower when used in desktop application. As I tested in intel duo core cpu, 12 seconds to load 10000 docs 10 seconds to insert 10000 doc, but need 20 seconds to update view, so total is 30 seconds Is there any No SQL implementation which has the same replication functionality, but the size is very small, and the speed is quite good( 1 second to load 10000 docs). So when System.Data.Linq.Table<User> table = db.GetTable<User>(); is called for the first time, does it pull the data from the database immediately, does it use deferred execution, or were the data already loaded from database when db was initialized?

  • Robust way to save/load objects with dependencies?

    I'm writing an Android game in Java and I need a robust way to save and load application state quickly. The question seems to apply to most OO languages. To understand what I need to save: I'm using a Strategy pattern to control my game entities. The idea is I have a very general Entity class which e.g. stores the location of a bullet/player/enemy and I then attach a Behaviour class that tells the entity how to act: class Entiy { float x; float y; Behavior b; } abstract class Behavior { void update(Entity e); {} // Move about at a constant speed class MoveBehavior extends Behavior { float speed; void update ... } // Chase after another entity class ChaseBehavior extends Behavior { Entity target; void update ... } // Perform two behaviours in sequence class CombineBehavior extends Behavior { Behaviour a, b; void update ... } Essentially, Entity objects are easy to save but Behaviour objects can have a semi-complex graph of dependencies between other Entity objects and other Behaviour objects. I also have cases where a Behaviour object is shared between entities. I'm willing to change my design to make saving/loading state easier, but the above design works really well for structuring the game. Anyway, the options I've considered are: Use Java serialization. This is meant to be really slow in Android (I'll profile it sometime). I'm worried about robustness when changes are made between versions however. Use something like JSON or XML. I'm not sure how I would cope with storing the dependencies between objects however. Would I have to give each object a unique ID and then use these IDs on loading to link the right objects together? I thought I could e.g. change the ChaseBehaviour to store a ID to an entity, instead of a reference, that would be used to look up the Entity before performing the behaviour. I'd rather avoid having to write lots of loading/saving code myself as I find it really easy to make mistakes (e.g. forgetting to save something, reading things out in the wrong order). Can anyone give me any tips on good formats to save to or class designs that make saving state easier?

    I have a Windows application written in C++ that occasionally evaporates. I use the word evaporate because there is nothing left behind: no "we're sorry" message from Windows, no crash dump from the Dr. Watson facility... On the one occasion the crash occurred under the debugger, the debugger did not break---it showed the application still running. When I manually paused execution, I found that my process no longer had any threads. How can I capture the reason this process is terminating?
