    Hello! In MS Exam 70-536 .Net Foundation, Chapter 3 "Searching, Modifying, and Encoding Text" in Case Scenario 1 related to regex there is a question: How can you constrain the input before you write any code? I thought it's maybe a in-mind design of regex pattern but it will not really constrain the input, will it? I am not so good in psychokinesis yet! Or maybe the is some other way?     I am using ASK fields in a word document, wherein the user are prompted with questions and the document is then built with the answers that the user type in. My question is that word does not allow more that 200 characters in the prompt box wherein the user types in the questions. Is there a way I can increase its maxlength. Also I want to change the font color of the question asked in the prompt box. Is it possible?

I have this code segment; GetBoutiqueDetail: function (boutiqueId, options) { if (IsUserLogin()) { //different job A } else { ShowLoginPanel(undefined); } }, GetProductDetail: function (boutiqueId, productId, options) { if (IsUserLogin()) { //different job B } else { ShowLoginPanel(undefined); } }, AddBasket: function (productId, productVariantId, quantity, options) { if (IsUserLogin()) { //different job C } else { ShowLoginPanel(undefined); } },.... .And ~20 functions should check if user login or not. I should call functions like similar to "Library.GetBoutiqueDetail();" So my question is simple, how can I refactor that code to remove these if-else sections ?

  • How can I communicate between Windows 8 and WP8 apps using ssl?

    I'm considering using either raw notifications (WNS) or sockets for communication between a Windows 8 and WP8 app. I've found some samples for using sockets but my question[s] here are: does WP8 support sending/receiving messages over ssl and, if so, how is it done? Something I need to be true or find a workaround for is that the Windows 8 app has a permanent IPAddress to which the phone app will send its updates. Typically, a tablet will be running Windows 8 app, always listening for incoming messages; the phone app will periodically send messages.

  • Trying to use the "Use Specific Printer" option in Access 2007

    I am trying to set a report to use a specific printer. I go into design mode, click on the page setup ribbon, click the page setup bottun, go into the page tabt, click the option to choose a specific printer, and then click the printer button to choose the printer I want to use. I save the steps and exit out of the report, but it still goes back and prints from the default printer. Why? I had no problems with this feature in 2003, why am I having problems in 2007. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Is SharePoint a good solution for me?

    My company has many branches that use the same software suite that we've written for them. We're looking at SharePoint as a way to open a dialog with them about the software - reviews, change requests (not official ones, just for us to get an idea and for them to discuss amongst themselves what would be helpful). We would also like to utilize the document repository feature and possibly the blog. SharePoint is already available to us if we'd like to use it so that's why we're looking into it. I've done a lot of research and watched a lot of starter tutorials. It seems like it has what we're looking for. For those of you that know it well: Do you think it would be a good solution for us? Do you think it would be overkill? If so, Do you have an alternative suggestion? Are there other aspects of SharePoint that I haven't discovered yet that seems like it would be helpful for what we're doing? I will continue to research online but it's always great to hear the opinion of someone experienced with the product. Thanks so much! Pam

  • copying files from one windows server to another

    I have to copy a file from a windows 2008 server to one or more windows 2008 servers. I have accounts on the target machines with enough privileges to let me use powershell remoting and use wmi. The remote machines do not run ftp, ssh or similar file transfer mechanisms. I am not allowed to install software or run new services on the target server. I can run services on the source server. The file copy action must be initiated from the source server. i.e. I cannot manually logon to the target machines and initiate the copy - though an automated way to do this is acceptable. Is it possible to use WMI or PowerShell Remoting to push or pull the file from the source to the target ? Is it possible to invoke some sort of built in http client or invoke the BITS service/agent on the remote servers to pull files from the source server ? Other suggestions please.

    I've just spent thousands of dollars on VSTS 2008 and thought that the usual Dotfuscaor Comunity Edition would've been upgraded to the pro version in this version of visual studio. After spending a fortune on Visual Studio Team Suite you would think you would get a full featured obfuscator for free. Now I have to spend another couple K for a PreEmptive Dotobfuscator license. What gives? What full featured (free) obfuscator do you all use?

My question is, how (if at all) can Python compliment the skills of a typical C# developer working mainly with MS technologies on a Windows Platform. Some examples of typical C# dev on windows would be (SOA applications, web applications, windows services, automation, xml handling) Surely there must be some scenarios where knowing Python would help you get certain tasks done quicker or more efficiently than using traditional C# / MS technologies.     A while ago I worked on a MS-SQL project and I remember a "IS IN" thing. I tried it on a MySQL project and it did not work. Is there an equivalent? Workaround? Here is the full query I am trying to run: SELECT * FROM product_product, product_viewhistory, product_xref WHERE ( (product_viewhistory.productId = product_xref.product_id_1 AND product_xref.product_id_2 = product_product.id) OR (product_viewhistory.productId = product_xref.product_id_2 AND product_xref.product_id_1 = product_product.id) ) AND product_product.id IS IN (SELECT DISTINCT pvh.productId FROM product_viewhistory AS pvh WHERE pvh.cookieId = :cookieId ORDER BY pvh.viewTime DESC LIMIT 10) AND product_viewhistory.cookieId = :cookieId AND product_product.outofstock='N' ORDER BY product_xref.hits DESC LIMIT 10 It's pretty big ... but the part I am interested in is: AND product_product.id IS IN (SELECT DISTINCT pvh.productId FROM product_viewhistory AS pvh WHERE pvh.cookieId = :cookieId ORDER BY pvh.viewTime DESC LIMIT 10) Which basically says I want the products to be in the "top 10" of that sub-query. How would you achieve that with MySQL (while trying to be efficient)?

  • Windows 7 Program Compatibility Assistant appeared for my app. Why?

    I have created a native application. It works without questions under Win XP and Win Vista. Under Win 7 my application installed fine. I ran it. It worked normally until i selected 'Exit' from menu. On exit "Program Compatibility Assistant" window appeared telling me my application is incompatible with Windows 7 and some compatibility settings was applied. My questions are: How can i know what my application did to trigger Program Compatibility Assistant? Is there any list of do's and dont's? Where can i look for compatibility settings applied to my application?
