    I am developing a ff extension. On one menupopup, the onpopupshowing calls a javascript function. Tha JS function extracts a list of names. Now these names have to be displayed in the same popup. How can i get this? Basically i will need to pass the data (just as we use beans in java) to the browser from the JS function. The data can change everytime the popup is called.

    With jQuery I'm retrieving positions of a sortable list using 'serialize', like this: var order = $('ul').sortable('serialize'); The variable 'order' then receives the following: id[]=2&id[]=3&id[]=1&id[]=4&id[]=5 Now how can I use this data in an ajax call? This is how I plan to do it, but it's ugly and I can't change the parameter name 'id': $.post('ajax.php?'+order,{action:'updateOrder'}); Maybe I need to unserialize, then implode the variable 'order' and assign it to just one parameter?

    In T-SQL, this is allowed: DECLARE @SelectedValue int SELECT @SelectedValue = MyIntField FROM MyTable WHERE MyPrimaryKeyField = 1 So, it's possible to get the value of a SELECT and stuff it in a variable (provided it's scalar, obviously). If I put the same select logic in a stored procedure: CREATE PROCEDURE GetMyInt AS SELECT MyIntField FROM MyTable WHERE MyPrimaryKeyField = 1 Can I get the output of this stored procedure and stuff it in a variable? Something like: DECLARE @SelectedValue int SELECT @SelectedValue = EXEC GetMyInt (I know the syntax above is not allowed because I tried it!)

    I've got a function that requires const some_type** as an argument (some_type is a struct, and the function needs a pointer to an array of this type). I declared a local variable of type some_type*, and initialized it. Then I call the function as f(&some_array), and the compiler (gcc) says: error: invalid conversion from ‘some_type**’ to ‘const some_type**’ What's the problem here? Why can't I convert a variable to const?

I've tried converting the comma separated values to a properly formatted array which still spits out1.     How do I remove strings from / obfuscate a compiled binary? The goal is to avoid having people read the names of the functions/methods inside. It is a dynamic library (.so) compiled from C++ code for Android with the NDK tools (includes GCC) I compile with -O3 and already use arm-eabi-gcc -g mylib.so to remove debugging symbols, but when I do strings mylib.so all the names of the functions/methods are still readable.
