The Constructor of Group reads like: public Group(string name, int ID, Group parent) While De-serializing, how do I get parent using Id and pass into group?

    I have a third party web service that returns this xml <book> <release_date>0000-00-00</release_date> </book> I am trying to deserialize it into this class public class Book { [XmlElement("release_date")] public DateTime ReleaseDate { get; set; } } But because 0000-00-00 isn't a valid DateTime, I get a FormatException. What's the best way to handle this?

    Hi, I have to create a .net web application which would run on more than one front end server which are load balanced. Now I have to use some third party api which is not thread safe so only one thread should call the API at a time so I have to some use syncronization machanism like lock or mutex which provide syncronisation within the process and across the process in machine.Now will lock or mutex work in loadbalanced multiserver environment correctly? If not then is there any mechanism using which I can syncronise all the threads in all the machines??

I have found plugins for Twitter, plugins for Facebook, plugins for OpenID.. but I'm afraid integration of all thos plugins will be tough.     from an instance of Site with a ManyToMany relationship to Kiosk, i'd like to check if a Kiosk object is part of the relationship. I could do self.apps.get(id=app_id).exists() and check if True or self.apps.get(id=app_id) and catch the ObjectDoesNotExist error or self.apps.filter(id=app_id) and check if True If I have to catch a possible ObjectDoesNotExist error, I may as well use the second one I can do the second but doesnt seem super clean can use the third one but using filter on a unique ID seems wrong to me You can tell me to use whatever works and that'll be a valid answer ;-)

For example take http://twitter.com/AlySSa_miLAno (yes I know her twitter page off by heart lol) on the right hand side of the page is a link to her RSS feed: feed://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/26642006.rss In this context Alyssa's userid would be 26642006. Ideally I would like to avoid reading the full content of the page, as this could be quite expensive on a mobile device, so if anyone knows how to accomplish this using any Twitter/3rd party webservices that would be great.
