• Custom installation directories

  Let's say I am writing installation script for the program which contains executable file and shared library. By default, this script places executable to /usr/local/bin, and shared library to /usr/local/lib. In this case my program may be executed by any user by typing its name in the command line. Suppose that user selects custom installation directory, like ~/myprogram/. Is it user's responsibility to ensure that my program may be executed, or my installation script must do this?

• Xinerama creates a panning viewport

  EDIT: I've created a bug report: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48458 My Setup I have 4 monitors, 1920x1080, which are in portrait mode (rotated left). They are connected to two radeon graphic cards. As usual, a picture says more than a thousand words. The problem Everything works fine, when Xinerama is disabled. But when I enable Xinerama, things get weird. When I move the mouse of the screen and return, the screen contents begin to move with the mouse, only on this monitor. It seems like the virtual display size does not match the real screen size, which activates a panning viewport. Any idea how to stop this?   I am receiving the error noted below. I have built/rebuilt the files sevaral time. I have alson renamed the file the file in the *.exe The NetworkAssociation.exe file is in the debug folder. Any help would be wonderful Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debub target 'c:\NetworkAssociation\NetworkAssociation\Bin\Debug\NetworkAssociation.exe' is missing. Please build the project and retry, or set the OutputPath and AssemblyName properties appropriately to point at the correct location.

• Including phonon environment setup in Qt Creator

  On Windows XP, I ran "configure", and Qt says that I'm configured to use phonon, but I'm not sure how to set up my environment correctly in Qt Creator. According to the Qt documentation, I need to call: Set DXSDK_DIR=C:\Program Files\Microsoft DirectX SDK (February 2007) %DXSDK_DIR%\utilities\bin\dx_setenv.cmd C:\program files\Microsoft Platform SDK\setenv.cmd How do I do this in the Qt Creator IDE? In this guide it says to use this command: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre sun-java6-jdk But on Suns website, it says JDK includes the JRE, so why the JRE in the line above?   Hi, I had downloaded and installed the 1.6.9 version of SVN from http://subversion.tigris.org/. After the installation I noticed that if I launch the command "svn" from the terminal, my Mac still uses the old version, the 1.4.4. If i want to use the new version, I need to specify its path, like this: - /opt/subversion/bin/svn commit instead of: - svn commit There is a way to solve this problem and use the new version of the command without typing the entire path? I would like to get snapshot ONLY when motion is detected, but it still saves a picture every second without any activity in front of the camera. I have found an example of someone else where they have had the issue but I have been unable to find a resolution Example on Paste bin What happens is that the scroll is just increased, I can see why this would be the desired behaviour if you wanted to drag to a destination within the scrollable div but I want to be able to take it outside of its scrolling grasp. • Refreshing Visual Studio's COM references tab

  I right-clicked on the bin folder of my web app to add a COM Reference. I did not find the desired Com reference in the list. I went back to the Command Line to register by desired Com dll using resvr32. However, the COM references tab does not shows it (looks like the information is cached somewhere). Even restarting VS did not help. Is their any easy way to refresh the COM references tab without rebooting the machine itself??
