• Finding a integer number after a beginning t=

  I have a string like this: 33 00 4b 46 ff ff 03 10 30 t=25562 I am only interested in the five digits at the very end after the t= How can I get this numbers with a regular expression out of it? I tried grep t=..... but I also got all characters including the t= in the beginning, which I would like to drop? After finding that five digit number, I would like to divide this by 1000. So in the above mentioned case the number 25.562. Is this possible with grep and regular expressions? Thanks for your help.

  I am trying to hash or encrypt a record's ID for URL's such that people can't view various records simply by guessing different integer ID's. Essentially, my URL's would be something like this: /plans/0AUTxwoGkOYfiZGd2 instead of /plans/304. Would the best way to do this just be to use SHA-1 to hash the plan's id and store it in a hashed_id column for plans? Then, overwrite to_param and add a finder to find by hashed_id? How do you ensure that the characters generated are 0-9, a-z, or A-Z? Thanks!

  hi i am a student and just start learning low level c programming.i tried to understand read() and write() methods with this program. #include <unistd.h> #include <stdlib.h> main() { char *st; st=calloc(sizeof(char),2);//allocate memory for 2 char read(0,st,2); write(1,st,2); } i was expecting that it would give segmentation fault when i would try to input more than 2 input characters.but when i execute program and enter " asdf " after giving " as " as output it executes "df" command. i want to know why it doesn't give segmentation fault when we assign more than 2 char to a string of size 2.and why is it executing rest(after 2 char)of input as command instead of giving it as output only? also reading man page of read() i found read() should give EFAULT error,but it doesn't. I am using linux.

  Hello. What I'm trying to do: have pretty URLs in the format 'http://domain.tld/one/two/three', that get handled by a PHP script (index.php) by looking at the REQUEST_URI server variable. In my example, the REQUEST_URI would be '/one/two/three'. (Btw., is this a good idea in general?) I'm using Apache's mod_rewrite to achieve that. Here's the RewriteRule I use in my .htaccess: RewriteRule ^/?([a-zA-Z/]+)/?$ /index.php [NC,L] This works really well thus far; it forwards every REQUEST_URI that consists of a-z, A-Z or a '/' to /index.php, where it is processed. Only drawback: '?' (question marks) and '#' (hash keys) seem to still be allowed in the REQUEST_URI, maybe even more characters that I've yet to find. Is it possible to restrict those via my .htaccess and an adequate addition to the RewriteRule? Thanks!

  My task is to search for a string or a pattern in a list of documents that are very short (say 200 characters long). However, say there are 1 million documents of such time. What is the most efficient way to perform this search?. I was thinking of tokenizing each document and putting the words in hashtable with words as key and document number as value, there by creating a bag of words. Then perform the word search and retrieve the list of documents that contained this word. From what I can see is this operation will take O(n) operations. Is there any other way? may be without using hash-tables?. Also, is there a python library or third party package that can perform efficient searches?

  I Have a script, getting text from DB and post it on other DB. Problem is, if I have a Text lngen then 840 Words, I can't call this page. Get an error about "Not Found" or "Connection brocken" or what ever. In FF i get no error, only blank page. I found out the Problem is in lenght of the query i send... but how can i fix it??? My it be the Problem, if a query is longer then 6000 Characters?

I am not an ASP guy, but rather C++ So what I want to do is delare a string, check the first 4 characters and if it is 'http' do something, if not, something else. • When open-sourcing a live Rails app, is it dangerous to leave the session key secret in source contr

  I've got a Rails app that's been running live for some time, and I'm planning to open source it in the near future. I'm wondering how dangerous it is to leave the session key store secret in source control while the app is live. If it's dangerous, how do people usually handle this problem? I'd guess that it's easiest to just move the string to a text file that's ignored by the SCM, and read it in later. Just for clarity, I'm talking about this: # Your secret key for verifying cookie session data integrity. # If you change this key, all old sessions will become invalid! # Make sure the secret is at least 30 characters and all random, # no regular words or you'll be exposed to dictionary attacks. ActionController::Base.session = { :key => '_application_session', :secret => '(long, unique string)' } And while we're on the subject, is there anything else in a default Rails app that should be protected when open sourcing a live app?

• Reading line by line from a file in C

  What I am trying to do is print out the contents of a file line by line. I run the program in terminal by doing: ./test testText.txt. When I do this, random characters are printed out but not what is in the file. The text file is located in the same folder as the makefile.   I pine for the days when, as a C programmer, I could type: memset( byte_array, '0xFF' ); and get a byte array filled with 'FF' characters. So, I have been looking for a replacement for this: for (int i=0; i < byteArray.Length; i++) { byteArray[i] = 0xFF; } Lately, I have been using some of the new C# features and have been using this approach instead: Array.ForEach<byte>(byteArray, b => b = 0xFF); Granted, the second approach seems cleaner and is easier on the eye, but how does the performance compare to using the first approach? • how to detect an F5 refresh keypress event in jquery?

  I noticed that jquery has a keypress function. But it seems that it can only detect keypress event of numbers and characters. It cannot detect the F5 keypress event. And What surprises me the most is everyone online says that the keyCode of F5 is 116, But when I use the jquery keypress function, it just shows that the character t has the keyCode of 116(it seems that 116 is the ascii code of lowercase t)! Can somebody give me any idea about this and how to detect the F5 event in javascript or jquery? Thanks so much in advance.

It'll contain both characters with int or decimal numbers eg A12B32.25C-456D-75.E75 I'll know that this will start with A and ends with E I think I can use "^" and "$" right? but i'm bit lost in other parts to check for character and int or decimal.   Hello eveyone, i using elastic in my script. I have also jQuery Tabs (every will be get over AJAX and content a textarea) and a timer for Saving content all 3 minutes. So some JS code... I have 2 parts on my site, left and right. On the right side i have 2 tabs (jQuery not AJAX) with each one textarea. And Left side between 5-10 Textareas each in Tab but they gonna be loaded only if Tab is activ (AJAX). my Problem is: If i paste a lot of text in a Textarea (1000 characters) the writing get slowed, not fluid, jerky. It ist 100% the elastic problem, without elastic there no Problem while writing. Have some one an idea for the solution of this Porblem? Is it Overload?

  Basically as the question states. I am fairly new to Python and like to learn by seeing and doing. I would like to create a script that searches through a text document (say the text copied and pasted from a news article for example) for certain words or phrases. Ideally, the list of words and phrases would be stored in a separate file. When getting the results, it would be great to get the context of the results. So maybe it could print out the 50 characters in the text file before and after each search term that has been found. It'd be cool if it also showed what line the search term was found on. Any pointers on how to code this, or even code examples would be much appreciated.

• What options I have to show a sentence parts with different color?

  I have a longer sentence 200 characters. I need to show on the screen having parts of them in different color, like highlighting search results, each with different color. The text should auto wrap with screen width, and have no break sections between parts. I meant with this that I can put sections on a new line. They will have to continue the previous section, only wrap when the screen is off. The best would be an EditText, as I need to allow editing also, but I am wondering I am able to change the color of various sentence parts, or just as a whole. What do you think, with what UI elements can I achieve this view?

  I have defined a java class, but only need to output some of the fields of this class into an XML. The returned type must be a String. I first opted for the easiest way using a StringBuffer. However, when I tried to process the output String represenation, it failed. I think it is mostly likely because there are some characters that are not encoded in the UTF-8 in the input.   I'm writing a macro in Visual Basic for PowerPoint 2010. I'd like to initialize a really big list of strings like: big_ol_array = Array( _ "string1", _ "string2", _ "string3", _ "string4" , _ ..... "string9999" _ ) ...but I get the "Too many line continuations" error in the editor. When I try to just initialize the big array with no line breaks, the VB editor can't handle such a long line (1000+) characters. Does anyone know a good way to initialize a huge list of strings in VB? Thanks in advance!
