    Hello, I want to restrict xml with a schema to a specific set. I read this tutorial http://www.w3schools.com/schema/schema_facets.asp This seems to be what I want. So, I'm using Qt to validate this xml <car>BMW</car> Here is the pertinent source code.   • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - 99% fragmentation on non-clustered, non-unique index

    I have a table with several indexes (defined below). One of the indexes (IX_external_guid_3) has 99% fragmentation regardless of rebuilding/reorganizing the index. Anyone have any idea as to what might cause this, or the best way to fix it? We are using Entity Framework 4.0 to query this, the EF queries on the other indexed fields about 10x faster on average then the external_guid_3 field, however an ADO.Net query is roughly the same speed on both (though 2x slower than the EF Query to indexed fields).   • CSS overflow detection in JavaScript

    In order to display a line of text (like in a forum), and end that line with "..." if the text would overflow the line (not truncating using the CSS overflow property), there are a number of ways. I'm still seeking the best solution. For instance, Adding in CSS a "..." as a background-image is a possibility, but it would appear all the time, and this is not a good solution. Some sites just count the characters and if over - say - 100, truncates the string to keep only 100 (or 97) chars and add a "..." at the end. But fonts are usually not proportional, so the result is not pretty. For instance the space - in pixels - taken by "AAA" and "iii" is clearly different "AAA" and "iii" via a proportional font have the same width There is another idea to get the exact size in pixels of the string: create in Javascript a DIV insert the text in it (via innerHTML for instance) measure the width (via .offsetWidth) which is not implemented yet. However, I wonder if there could be any browser compatibility problem? Did any one tried this solution? Other recommendations would be welcome.

  • Set Pivot Items from Cell Range? Excel 2007

    I have developed code which identifies the multiple item selections from a Pivot field and writes the list of items to a table. I then wish to take this contents of the list and use it to populate a number of other Pivot Tables on other tabs. I currently have the ability to do this for single Pivot items selections, but I need to do this for multiple selections. If I select multiple items in the Pivot Table and attempt to pass these selections to the other Pivot Tables it creates an error because it sees only hte text "Multiple Items" instead of a list of each item that was checked in the upstream Pivot field. I need some VBA code that allows me to use the list to set another Pivot Field's selections. All the Pivot fields in question here are page fields. I am using Excel 2007. Any help is appreciated.     I'm not sure if this possible. If not, let me know. I have a PDO mysql that updates 3 fields. $update = $mypdo->prepare("UPDATE tablename SET field1=:field1, field2=:field2, field3=:field3 WHERE key=:key"); But I want field3 to be updated only when $update3 = true; (meaning that the update of field3 is controlled by a conditional statement) Is this possible to accomplish with a single query? I could do it with 2 queries where I update field1 and field2 then check the boolean and update field3 if needed in a separate query. //run this query to update only fields 1 and 2 $update_part1 = $mypdo->prepare("UPDATE tablename SET field1=:field1, field2=:field2 WHERE key=:key"); //if field3 should be update, run a separate query to update it separately if ($update3){ $update_part2 = $mypdo->prepare("UPDATE tablename SET field3=:field3 WHERE key=:key"); } But hopefully there is a way to accomplish this in 1 query?

I'm trying to style a asp.net MVC2 form so that instead of having all the fields on a strait line, I would like to have it like so: Label: Text field Label: Text field I know you could do that with a table but I would like to use CSS to accomplish that. I know a little bit about css but not enough to figure out what to do. The only thing I came close to was to but my fields as a unorder list then styling the li item. Thank you for your help!

So I have a loadProfileDocument and a saveProfileDocument method. I was thinking of using the bean in the application scope. How do I make sure the profile document is saved? Do I have to call the saveProfileDocument from the setter? Do I call the saveProfileDocument() explisitly? Could I use a destructor (finalize)? Or what...???...

  • Wordpress: Not able to retrieve css for new plugin in admin mode

    I'm creating a new plugin which will have it's own css file. The css file resides in the root folder of the plugin. In the plugin section of the admin interface, I have added a few text fields fields. But the CSS is not applied.   • NHibernate's ISQLQuery returns instances that are of an unexpected type.

    Hi all, I'm using NHibernate 2.1.2.400, and I'm having an issue with a an ISQLQuery query. The reason why I use an ISQLQuery here, is that this query uses a table for which I have no entity mapped in NHibernate. The query looks like this: ISQLQuery query = session.CreateSQLQuery ( "select p.*, price.* " + "from prestation p left outer join prestationprice price on p.PrestationId = price.PrestationId " + "where p.Id IN ( select id from prestationregistry where ..."); 'Prestationregistry' is the table that is not known by NHibernate (unmapped, so therefore the native SQL Query). my code continues like this: query.AddEntity ("p", typeof(Prestation)); query.AddJoin ("price", typeof(PrestationPrice)); query.SetResultTransformer (Transformers.DistinctRootEntity); var result = query.List(); So far so good. I expect that I'm given a list of 'Prestation' instances as a result of this query, since I declared 'Prestation' as being the root-object that has to be returned by the AddEntity method. I also expect that the PrestationPrices for each Prestation are eagerly loaded by this query (hence the AddJoin method). To my surprise, the List() method returns a collection of PrestationPrice instances instead of Prestation instances. How come ? Am I doing something wrong ? And if so, could you be so kind to tell me what I'm doing wrong ? Edit: Additional Info: When I debug, and put a watch on the 'query' instance, I can see that the queryReturns member of the query contains 2 items: - one NativeSqlQueryRootReturn instance who'se ReturnEntityName is 'Prestation' - one NativeSqlQueryJoinReturn When I do not specify the 'DistinctRootEntity' result transformer, the query returns instances of 'Prestation' instead of PrestationPrice. However, it contains multiple copies of the same instance.

  • How to redirect registry access of a dll loaded by my program

    I have got a dll that I load in my program which reads and writes its settings to the registry (hkcu). My program changes these settings prior to loading the dll so it uses the settings my program wants it to use which works fine. Unfortunately I need to run several instances of my program with different settings for the dll. Now the approach I have used so far no longer works reliably because it is possible for one instance of the program to overwrite the settings that another instance just wrote before the dll has a chance to read them. I haven't got the source of the dll in question and I cannot ask the programmer who wrote it to change it. One idea I had, was to hook registry access functions and redirect them to a different branch of the registry which is specific to the instance of my program (e.g. use the process id as part of the path). I think this should work but maybe you have got a different / more elegant. In case it matters: I am using Delphi 2007 for my program, the dll is probably written in C or C++.

It's annotated as so: @OneToMany(fetch = FetchType.EAGER, cascade = { CascadeType.ALL }, orphanRemoval = true) @JoinTable(blah blah) private final List<Field> initialFields; Now I'm trying to use Projections in order to only pull certain fields for performance reasons, but when doing so the initialFields field is always null. It's the only OneToMany field and the only field I am trying to retrieve with the projection that is behaving this way. If I use a regular HQL query initialFields is populated appropriately, but of course I can't limit the fields. Anyone ever seen anything like this?

    Ok, I admit my situation is special There is a data system that supports SQL-92 and JDBC interface However the SQL requets are pretty expensive, and in my application I need to retreive the same data multiple times and aggregate it ("group by") on different fields to show different dimensions of the same data. For example on one screen I have three tables that show the same set or records but aggregated by City (1st grid), by Population (2nd grid), by number of babies (3rd grid) This amounts to 3 SQL queries (which is very slow), UNLESS anyone of you can suggest any idea any library from apache commons or from google code, so that I can select all records into ResultSet and get 3 arrays of data group by different fields from this single ResultSet. Am I'm missing some obvious and unexpected solution to this problem?

  • Using Kerberos authentication for SQL Server 2008

    I am trying to configure my SQL Server to use Kerberos authentication. My setup is like this - My setup is like this- I have 2 virtual PCs in a Windows XP Pro SP3 host. Both VPCs are Windows Server 2003 R2. One VPC acts as the DC, DNS Server, DHCP server, has Active Directory installed and the SQL Server default instance is also running on this VPC. The second VPC is the domain member and it acts as the SQL Server client machine. I configured the SPN on the SQL Server service account to get the Kerberos working. On the client VPC it seems like it is using Kerberos authentication (as desired)- C:\Documents and Settings\administrator.SHAREPOINTSVC>sqlcmd -S vm-winsrvr2003 1> select auth_scheme from sys.dm_exec_connections where session_id=@@spid 2> go auth_scheme ---------------------------------------- KERBEROS (1 rows affected) 1> but on the server computer (where the SQL Server instance is actually running) it looks like it is still using NTLM authentication- . This is not a remote instance, the sql server is local to this machine. C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>sqlcmd 1> select auth_scheme from sys.dm_exec_connections where session_id=@@spid 2> go auth_scheme ---------------------------------------- NTLM (1 rows affected) 1> What can i do so that it uses Kerberos on the server computer as well ?     I want my application to sanitize html on input rather than on display, so that the fields saved into the database are sanitized. I've been doing this with strip_tags, and it was working great. However, this has the downside that it means the user can't input anything that's bracketed with < and . How can I tell Rails in the model to securely escape tags before saving them to the database? I'd like to not have to call h on the sanitized fields again before using them in the views.

  • How do I retrieve readonly values when using a DetailsView control to update a record?

    I'm using a detailsview control to update a record, however in this particular case there's only one field that can be changed out of a many. The update method for my object takes all fields as parameters. When the detailsview's updating method fires, the values for the readonly fields (those rendered as a Label) are not available in the e.NewValues collection. I'm currently grabbing a reference to the object when the detailsview is databound (in the objectdatasource selected event handler), storing it in session and manually adding entries to the e.NewValues collection when updating fires. It works but seems kind of heavy handed. So, is there a better way to get the read only values back into my update method? Or is there a better way of doing this altogether?

  • How do I display a field's hidden characters in the result of a query in Oracle?

    I have two rows that have a varchar column that are different according to a Java .equals(). I can't easily change or debug the Java code that's running against this particular database but I do have access to do queries directly against the database using SQLDeveloper. The fields look the same to me (they are street addresses with two lines separated by some new line or carriage feed/new line combo). Is there a way to see all of the hidden characters as the result of a query?I'd like to avoid having to use the ascii() function with substr() on each of the rows to figure out which hidden character is different. I'd also accept some query that shows me which character is the first difference between the two fields.

    I'm trying come up with the best method of synchronizing particular rows of 2 different database tables. So, for example there's 2 product tables in different databases as such... Origin Database product{ merchant_id, product_id, ... additional fields } Destination Database product{ merchant_id product_id ... additional fields } So, the database schema is the same for both. However I'm looking to select records with a particular merchant_id, remove all records from the destination table that have that merchant_id and replace those records with records from the origin database of the same merchant_id. My first thought was using mysqldump, parsing out the create table statements, and only running the Insert Statements. Seems like a pain though. So I was wondering if there is a better technique to do this. I would think mysql has some method of creating INSERT statements as output from a SELECT statement, so you can define how to insert specific record information into a new db. Any help would be appreciated, thank you much.

  • Inserting records in Mysql with INSERT IGNORE and NULL values

    I have a partitioned table InnoDB with several fields. I'm trying to avoid duplicates on insert. Let's say: Field1 int null Field2 int null Field3 int null Field4 int null Field5 int null I have created a UNIQUE index on those fields. I try to insert some records with NULL values and then try to reinsert them with IGNORE feature on MySql. Unfortunately it seems to replicated the records when using NULL values. If I try with zeros instead of NULL cases everything works, but I do need the nulls there. Any idea? Thanks, Leonardo
