  • Powerpoint: control image sequence with a slider

    I have an image sequence (10 images) that step by step visualize the construction of something. I'd like to include these images into my powerpoint presentation in such a way that i can step between them by moving a slider below the image, similar to the timebar of a movie player (in quicktime for example you can step through a move file frame by frame by moving the bar on the bottom). What's the easiest way to do this with Microsoft Powerpoint 2010?

  • Override my ISP's "domain not found" page?

    If I screw up typing a URL, my ISP shoots me over to their branded search page. So if I type "superuser" in my location bar I end up at http://domainnotfound.optimum.net/cablevassist/dnsassist/main/?domain=superuser I'd like my browser to leave the location the way it was and just say "nothing doing," rather than redirecting me to a search. Can I override that in my own /etc/hosts or at my router?

  • Why is execution of batch files different between drag & drop and from command line?

    Ok, so I've been trying to figure this out for hours with no progress. I have created a batch file to get details of a VHD. Everything runs fine and produces the expected results when run from the command line in a command prompt. However, when I use drag and drop from file explorer (dragging a vhd file and dropping onto the batch file) the batch file runs without errors but the output (VHD.INFO) is empty. I'm stumped. Edited to only include the behaviour: @echo off cls setlocal enabledelayedexpansion set "_PATH.THIS=%~dp0" echo HELP | diskpart > %_PATH.THIS%OUTPUT.TMP TYPE %_PATH.THIS%OUTPUT.TMP PAUSE To demonstrate the different behaviour, please run the batch file from the command line once (works) and also run the batch file by double clicking in file explorer (failure in all piping commands).

  • Windows Command queue?

    i'm thinking if does exist some kind of software that can put in a queue a bunch of windows commands... for example i can say to first copy some file somewhere, then rename those, then delete the old files, then edit one of them etc.... without waiting the effective execution of any of those passages.... this could be useful when copying big files that take a lot and i don't want to sit in front of the computer keeping the eyes on the progress bar... does exist anything like this?

  • Wampserver not working in Windows 8

    I recently upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 8 successfully. Other application are working perfectly except wampserver. When I double click on the desk top icon, it shows red on the tray bar and then the color changes but when I click Start All Services, nothing happens. Localhost does not open in webbrowser. Skype is not running on my computer, i don't know if there is other application using the same port in Win8. Please help!

I want to include recursively any_dir_name/any_file_name.good but I want to exclude any and all files that are in bad_dir_name/ I used exclude-from and here is my exclude from file * /*.bad_dir_name/ Unfortunately it doesn't work. I suspect it may have something to do with --include="*/" but if I remove it the command doesn't sync any files at all. Thanks for the help.

    I often find this in scripts (and, I have to admit, write it myself): a=`echo $x | sed "s/foo/bar/"` or if echo $x | grep foo then ... fi Consider "foo" to include some regex stuff. I feel that there should be - and most likely is - a better way to phrase this, one that does not involve two commands and a pipe but wraps the thing into some more compact expression. I just can't find it. Anybody?

  • How can I make vim show the current class and method I'm editing

    Does anyone know if it's possible (or know of an existing vim script or plugin) that can create a "status bar" that shows the name of the current class and method (or function) I'm editing? I'm imagining that it would plug into the syntax parser for the filetype of the current buffer, and display a breadcrumb trail to show you what you're currently editing. I don't know vimscript well enough to suggest any more than that, but if there aren't any good solutions already, I may begin to hack on one, so suggestions as to where to start are welcome, too!

    I currently have the Buttons on other taskbars set so Never combine So I can have multiple Chrome windows open and will see multiple Chromes on the taskbar. Now the problem is that sometimes I don't really know which one I'm currently looking at. Is there a way to have the active application take on a different color or some other indication that it's the active window. To clarify I don't need the title bar of the application to be a different color, just the "button" that shows up on the taskbar This is for windows 8

  • Windows hangs on startup

    I got in to work this week to find four windows xp computers all having the same problem - they are all hanging on the windows loading screen (the one with the logo and the green progress bar). The only thing I could think that would cause this to happen on all of them at the same time are bad windows updates. Can anyone shed some light? Edit: some further details: CAN get to safe mode. System restore DOESN'T help. HDDs are ok. All were working fine last week.

  • How do I group Quick Launch icons in Windows Vista?

    My quick launch task bar has about 30 icons and is pretty unmanegable. What I would like is to create Quick Launch groups, so I can move my mouse over the "Design Group" icon and a pop-up/menu will appear that shows my icons for Illustrator, Photoshop, etc... I can almost get there by linking to a folder and having my Design icons in there, but I have to click on the icon. Can anyone recommend anything here?

On the modern UI Start Screen I can change it through the Charm-Bar and settings, but it is inconvenient.   • iphone Dev - activity indicator with NSThread not working on Nav controller table view

    I really can't get this to work, basically when my JSON feeds loads I want the indicator to show, then hide when it's stopped. It loads top level menu items 1st "Publishing, Broadcasting, Marketing Services", then when Broadcasting is selected it loads a feed using the JSON framework hosted on Google. Round this load I call startIndicator and stopIndicator using the NSThread.     I'm trying to build my first website from scratch. I mocked up the design in Photoshop, and have been trying to convert into code for a few hours. But I haven't got far. In fact, I'm stuck on the header's navigation bar. It looks right, but it doesn't work. I'm using an unordered-inline list, and trying to link different rectangles in the header. I can't click on anything in the header, though. The code for the html and css files, and a mockup of the header, are below. Any advice on why the header bar isn't working would be much appreciated.     Android Development Query Hello, I wonder if anyone could help me, i am trying to save an image (jpg or png) from the res/raw or assets folder to the SD card location (/sdcard/DCIM/). I've only got permissions to select in database A but I can create tables and insert/update etc in database B. The manipulation and insertion part is written in perl and already in use for loading data into database B from other data sources, so all that's required is to get the necessary data from database A and using it to initialize the perl classes. How can I go about doing this so I can easily track back and pick up from where the error happened if any error occurs during the manipulation or insertion procedures (database disconnection, problems with class initialization because of invalid values, hard disk failure etc...)? Doing the transaction in one go doesn't seem like a good option because the amount data from database A means it would take at least a day or 2 for data manipulation and insertion into database B. The data from database A can be grouped into around 1000 groups using unique keys, with each key containing 1000s of rows each. One way I thought I could do is to write a script that does commits per group, meaning I've got to track which group has already been inserted into database B. The only way I can think of to track the progress of which groups have been processed or not is either in a log file or in a table in database B. A second way I thought could work is to dump all the necessary fields needed for loading the classes for manipulation and insertion into a flatfile, read the file to initialize the classes and insert into database B. This also means that I got to do some logging, but should narrow it down to the exact row in the flatfile if any error occurs. Both these methods is just variations on the same theme, and both require going back to where I've been tracking my progress (in table or file), skip the ones that've been commited to database B and process the remaining data. I'm sure there's a better way of doing this but am struggling to think of other solutions. Is there another way of handling large transactions between databases that require data manipulation between getting data out from one and inserting into another? The process doesn't need to be all in Perl, as long as I can reuse the perl classes for manipulating and inserting the data into the database.
