    I'm looking for a static code analysis tool that will determine if I have orphaned functions in my VB6 code. The problem I'm running into is we make calls to the VB6 code from classic asp. Is there a tool that will look at both the classic asp and VB6 and determine if there are any orphaned functions?

    Are Session variables (in ASP.NET) the safest way to store data relating to whether a user is logged in or not? i.e. Session["LoggedIn"] = 'No' I know Session variables can be spoofed so I assume there must be a safer way. Any ideas for ASP.NET? Thanks!

  • show progress image while loading asp.net page

    Hi there, I have an asp.net page, with couple of Divs, some of these div's get the image path from database and show the image in a smaller version (thumbnail). and as soon as user click on thumbnail, I use ajax Modal popup to show the full size image, what I need to have is to have a progree image(gif), on every thumbnail image while loading the asp.net page for the first time, I konw that it is possible to use UpadePanel, but I need the actual working code,or any other way to achieve this, Thanks in advance

  • ASP.NET MVC - PartialView html not changing via jQuery html() call

    When I change the selection in a DropDownList, a PartialView gets updated via a GET request. When updating the PartialView via the jQuery html() function, the html returned is correct but when it displayed in the browser it is not correct. For example, certain checkboxes within the PartialView should become enabled but they remain disabled even though the html returned says they should be. When I do a view source in the browser the html never gets updated. I'm a little perplexed. Thoughts? For example: What the user enters: http://www.example.com/app/route What ASP.NET MVC sees: /route What I want to redirect to: http://www.example.com/app/other_route What actually happens when I do a simple RedirectToAction: http://www.example.com/other_route (which doesn't exist, from the outside anyway) This seems like it should be simple, but I'm drawing a blank.

    So I'm having problems when I try to publish the website. I'm in visual studio 2008 sp1. I've got a bunch of user controls and on a few pages I'm using them programatically. I'm using this data source in an ASP.NET gridview. I can see the list is sorted but when the ASP.NET gridview does not seem to be respecting the sort order. It's a one way transfer...That is I need to encrypt it in PHP and decrypt it in ASP.NET (c#).
