• XSD: how to use 'unique' & 'key'/'keyref' with element values?

  I trying to use and / with element values but I just can't get it to work. If I do it with attrubute values it works like a charm. • 12.04 upgrade broke grub? (not wubi related)

  I just updated from 11.10 to 12.04, with no major problems (it took a while to get past a request to restart ssh, mysql and some other services, but I did no fiddling by myself, everything was done by the installer). However, after restarting, grub can't do anything. Picking the new linux installation (first entry), I just get error: no such partition error: no such partition error: no such partition and picking the recovery-version just gives 5 lines instead of 3. I have windows 7 installed on a different drive, and can run it by booting from that drive instead. Picking it from the grub menu gives the same error as above (can't remember how many lines, though). I'll be honest and say that I don't remember if win 7 could be booted from grub before the update, though. In short, nothing on the grub menu works. any solutions? The grub menu changed appearance - before it was on a purple background, small letters, now it's white-on-black, big letters, looking very basic. The original installation was from a usb-drive, and I hadn't heard about wubi until I started googling this problem, so I doubt there's any connection. I really hope there are some grub-savvy people out there :) EDIT: ok. so, I made a bootable usb, and am running from that right now. when I ran the bootinfoscript, it warned me that "gawk" could not be found, using "busybox awk" instead. This may lead to unreliable results. just so you know. • PowerShell remove force

  Trying to delete a directory recursively with rm -Force -Recurse somedirectory, I get several "The directory is not empty" errors. If I retry the same command, it succeeds. • How can I read individual lines of a CSV file into a string array, to then be selectively displayed

  I need your help, guys! :| I've got myself a CSV file with the following contents: 1,The Compact,1.8GHz,1024MB,160GB,440 2,The Medium,2.4GHz,1024MB,180GB,500 3,The Workhorse,2.4GHz,2048MB,220GB,650 It's a list of computer systems, basically, that the user can purchase. I need to read this file, line-by-line, into an array. Let's call this array csvline(). The first line of the text file would stored in csvline(0). Line two would be stored in csvline(1). And so on. (I've started with zero because that's where VB starts its arrays). A drop-down list would then enable the user to select 1, 2 or 3 (or however many lines/systems are stored in the file). Upon selecting a number - say, 1 - csvline(0) would be displayed inside a textbox (textbox1, let's say). If 2 was selected, csvline(1) would be displayed, and so on. It's not the formatting I need help with, though; that's the easy part. I just need someone to help teach me how to read a CSV file line-by-line, putting each line into a string array - csvlines(count) - then increment count by one so that the next line is read into another slot. If I then put it as an array, ie: csvalue() = csvtranslator.ReadLine , I then get a different error message: "Error 1 Number of indices is less than the number of dimensions of the indexed array." What's the knack, guys? I've spent hours trying to figure this out. For instance, lets say I have a Car model class and want to add one price attribute (database column) per currency, given a list of currencies. What is the best way to do this? I had an approach that I thought would work, but it didn't exactly. • flash dynamic textfield, multiline and wordwrap acting funky.

  I have this weird thing happening with flash and a dynamic textfield. Basically, someone rolls over a marker on a map, and a tooltip pops up with a dynamic textfield. The textfield is set to multiline=true and wordwrap = true, and I defined a specific width of 160 pixels. The problem is, some of my text is jumping to the next line, some of it is just getting cut off. So if I have a line like "The Cat Jumped Over the Box", On one line I will see "The Cat Jumped" and on the next line I would see "the Box". It looks like it is masking out the "over" line and not pushing it to the next line. It's not doing this for everything, just some longer lines. This is a really weird bug and I have tried for 8 hours to get this fixed. Has anyone ran into this problem before?

I tried to do something like volumenumber = models.CharField('Volume Number', max_length=4, min_length=4) but it gives me an error (it seems that I can use both max_length and min_length at the same time). Is there another quick way? • PHP: Can pcntl_alarm() and socket_select() peacefully exist in the same thread?

  I have a PHP CLI script mostly written that functions as a chat server for chat clients to connect to (don't ask me why I'm doing it in PHP, thats another story haha). My script utilizes the socket_select() function to hang execution until something happens on a socket, at which point it wakes up, processes the event, and waits until the next event. Now, there are some routine tasks that I need performed every 30 seconds or so (check of tempbanned users should be unbanned, save user databases, other assorted things). From what I can tell, PHP doesn't have very great multi-threading support at all. My first thought was to compare a timestamp every time the socket generates an event and gets the program flowing again, but this is very inconsistent since the server could very well sit idle for hours and not have any of my cleanup routines executed. I came across the PHP pcntl extensions, and it lets me use assign a time interval for SIGALRM to get sent and a function get executed every time it's sent. This seems like the ideal solution to my problem, however pcntl_alarm() and socket_select() clash with each other pretty bad. Every time SIGALRM is triggered, all sorts of crazy things happen to my socket control code. My program is fairly lengthy so I can't post it all here, but it shouldn't matter since I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong code-wise. My question is: Is there any way for a SIGALRM to be handled in the same thread as a waiting socket_select()? If so, how? If not, what are my alternatives here? Here's some output from my program. My alarm function simply outputs "Tick!" whenever it's called to make it easy to tell when stuff is happening.   QCombobox set Item delegate not painting for current Item.. I am trying to create a combo box showing different line types (Solid, Dotted, Dash etc). Currently i am setting item delegate for its content so as to draw/paint line type instead of displaying names. All line types are drawing currectly but as soon as i am selecting any line type from the combobox, the current index of combo box is displaying just the line name and not painting it. How can i make it paint the selected line type on the current combo box index?

• How can I efficiently group a large list of URLs by their host name in Perl?

  I have text file that contains over one million URLs. I have to process this file in order to assign URLs to groups, based on host address: { 'http://www.ex1.com' = ['http://www.ex1.com/...', 'http://www.ex1.com/...', ...], 'http://www.ex2.com' = ['http://www.ex2.com/...', 'http://www.ex2.com/...', ...] } My current basic solution takes about 600 MB of RAM to do this (size of file is about 300 MB). Could you provide some more efficient ways? My current solution simply reads line by line, extracts host address by regex and puts the url into a hash. • SSMS Results to Grid - CRLF not preserved in copy/paste - any better techniques?

  When I have a result set in the grid like: SELECT 'line 1 line 2 line 3' or SELECT 'line 1' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 2' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 3' With embedded CRLF, the display in the grid appears to replace them with spaces (I guess so that they will display all the data). The problem is that if I am code-generating a script, I cannot simply cut and paste this. I have to convert the code to open a cursor and print the relevant columns so that I can copy and paste them from the text results. Is there any simpler workaround to preserve the CRLF in a copy/paste operation from the results grid? The reason that the grid is helpful is that I am currently generating a number of scripts for the same object in different columns - a bcp out in one column, an xml format file in another, a table create script in another, etc...
