• Same question to multiple remote users with different login

  Hello all, This is my first post to Stack Overflow so apologies if I chosen wrong words for the title. I am very new to Google App Engine and python. I am building a web application using Pyhton and Django which is question and multiple answers type. Once the users are login to website,they will be provided with random questions from datastore. What my requirement is if certain users want to form group so that they all can get the same set of random questions to answer,is this possible ? Without forming the group each user are getting different random questions on their end. Thanks, Sunil

• Do partitions allow multiple bulk loads?

  I have a database that contains data for many "clients". Currently, we insert tens of thousands of rows into multiple tables every so often using .Net SqlBulkCopy which causes the entire tables to be locked and inaccessible for the duration of the transaction. As most of our business processes rely upon accessing data for only one client at a time, we would like to be able to load data for one client, while updating data for another client. To make things more fun, all PKs, FKs and clustered indexes are on GUID columns (I am looking at changing this). I'm looking at adding the ClientID into all tables, then partitioning on this. Would this give me the functionality I require?

  Hi I have setup multiple application in Kohana v3, it works normally without enabling .htaccess (to remove index.php or admin.php) my setup + system/ + modules/ + applications/ + public/ + bootstrap.php + ... + admin/ + bootstrap.php + ... + index.php (for 'public' application) + admin.php (for 'admin' application) so to access the frontend sample url will be; http://mydomain.com/index.php/(controller_name)/... and to access administration site; http://mydomain.com/admin.php/(controller_name)/... • Packaging multiple rpms in one file

  Hi, Is it possible to paqckage multiple rpms into one file. I have got two bundles one of which requires that the other be installed. I would like to create a single installable out of them in such a way that this installer will first invoke pkg 1 and then install pkg 2. Is this possible? What about deb packages? Sorry if it a basic question. I have not worked with installers on Linux before. I have created Windows installers. There you can create two merge modules (.msm) and package them into a standalone installer (.msi) and specify the order of execution. I am looking for similar functionality on Linux.

• curl multiple request session issue

  I'm using curl multi API for multiple curl requests. first I'm using a single request to login to a site and save the cookie file. then I'm using the curl multi API to get some data from that site. The problem I'm facing is that from some reason the cookie file does not get read and I'm redirecting to the main login page. I must say that this work once in awhile so I can't point what went wrong. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

  Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to make an array which would have multiple types of data fields. So far I was using aMyArray: array of array [0..1] of TPoint; But now, it is not enough for me. I need to add 3 more elements to the existing 2 "Point" elements making it an array like aMyArray: array of (TPoint,TPoint,real,real,real) So each element of aMyArray would have 5 'children', 2 of which are of a TPoint type and 3 of them are 'real' type. Is this possible to implement somehow?

  I want to send data to server by enclosing it in a form. However, in asp.net I can't use more than one form with runat=server attribute. Then what is the use of using multiple forms on asp.net page. I can't access the data on the server? Like facebook enclose each post feedback data in a form and then submits this to server. How to do this in asp.net. I have to send data to server when some action occurs on a post but will have to store hiddenfield and read it with javascript is it not seems messy?

  Hello, I currently have the following js code function clearMulti(option) { var i; var select = document.getElementById(option.parentNode.id); for(i=1;i<select.options.length;i++) { select.options[i].selected=false; } } and function clearAllOpt(select) { select.options[0].selected = false; } The first one deselects all options in the multiple select when called and the second clears the first option whenever anything else is selected. The need for this is that the first option is for All. This all works fine and dandy in FF, but in IE8 nothing happens... any suggestions on how to get this to work in both? Thanks in advance.

I understand that creating a distributed job management system is a leap from a command-line archiving tool. I'm now wondering what the simplest solution to this type of distributed performance scenario could be.   I've seen various Grails plugins which allow easier handling of file uploads, however these tend only to support a single file per form-submit. I'd like a multi-attach form where as soon as you pick one file, an extra field and button is added using JS (various sites do it like this). Do you know of any good plugins which provide elegant uploading of multiple files without excessive coding? A progress bar either per-file of for the whole process would also be very nice. I don't know to what extent I can allow GORM to handle a java.io.File field (or in this case a Collection<File>).

  In my desktop .NET application I have written(for internal use) where I need to allow my users to apply diagnosis's to a Member Plan. There are currently 700 in the system and growing. I need to allow them to add multiple diapnosis's at once. I currently am allowing this through a combo check list box. This works but is INSANELY unweildly for both myself and the users. What I am looking for is a how I could go about displaying these to the users. Ideally I would need to show two criteria for each each as well. Diagnosis Name and Diagnosis Code Ideas? How would you tackle this? I am using .Net 3.5sp1 and SQL 2005 for the backend. I don't care if the solution is WPF or Winforms.

  Hi-- I have a simple mySQL problem-- I have two tables, one is a user's table, and one is a photos table (each user can upload multiple photos). I'd like to write a query to join these tables, so I can pull all photos associated with a user (up to a certain limit). However, when I do something obvious like this: SELECT *.a, *.b FROM user_table a JOIN photos_table b ON a.id = b.userid it returns a.id, a.name, a.email, a.address, b.id, b.userid, b.photo_title, b.location but it only returns a single photo. Is there a way to return something like: a.id, a.name, a.email, a.address, b.id, b.userid, b.photo_title, b.location, b.id2, b.photo_title2, b.location2 etc. . . for a given LIMIT of photos? Thanks for any ideas.

• UITableView with multiple selections

  I have a UITableView with multiple selections enabled. If I select items and scroll the list back and forth they are remembered and shown and selected (blue background). Using the didDeselectRowAtIndexPath and didSelectRowAtIndexPath I am able to keep my own array of selected items. That part works well. However, if I then use the sectionForSectionIndexTitle and jump to a letter, the selection appears to be forgotten - even indexPathForSelectedRows appears to have been reset and is now empty. My own array remembers that an item is selected and I can set the cell.selected in the cellForRowAtIndexPath but the instant I move the list it is forgotten again. Any ideas? Is this a bug, or how do you retain the selection list when jumping to a letter?

  I am tapping into a service that provides zip codes tax information - there service is a bit shakey, so I want to copy their database over and run the results off my own server while using their service to just update my table. However I'm not sure I'm able to loop through multiple results with this query: mysql_query( "CALL zip2tax.z2t_lookup('" . $strZipCode . "','" . $strUserName . "', '" . $strUserPassword . "')" ) I've tried setting $strZipCode to *. However I get an error from the database. I read on MySQL that mysql_next_result should be the solution, however I'm unsure how to properly implement that.

• Multiple column Union Query without duplicates

  I'm trying to write a Union Query with multiple columns from two different talbes (duh), but for some reason the second column of the second Select statement isn't showing up in the output. I don't know if that painted the picture properly but here is my code: Select empno, job From EMP Where job = 'MANAGER' Union Select empno, empstate From EMPADDRESS Where empstate = 'NY' Order By empno The output looks like: EMPNO JOB 4600 NY 5300 MANAGER 5300 NY 7566 MANAGER 7698 MANAGER 7782 MANAGER 7782 NY 7934 NY 9873 NY Instead of 5300 and 7782 appearing twice, I thought empstate would appear next to job in the output. For all other empno's I thought the values in the fields would be (null). Am I not understanding Unions correctly, or is this how they are supposed to work? Thanks for any help in advance.

  Im running prolog via poplog on unix and was wondering if there was a way to read in multiple words (such as encase it into a string). For instance, read(X) will only allow X to be 1 term. However, if I encase the user input with "", it will return a list of character codes, is this the correct method as I can not find a way to convert it back to a readable string. I would also like to be able to see if the multiworded string contains a set value (for instance, if it contains "i have been") and am unsure of how i will be able to do this as well.

Is there no faster way of generating this output - something like %IN%, which is %in% across multiple variables, or should we just be content with the apply(paste) solution?

I've already seen that it's possible to back it with a databasem and I've seen a reference to defining your own queries? Now the problem I have is that the tutorials I've been finding aren't too clear and that they assume that a user can only have one role. I want to give some users multiple roles. For each value in p_ids, I am looking to list the quantile.   We need to load an embedded version of a site written in Flash, and not originally designed to load multiple instances of itself, on a HTML page. The specific issue is how to get them to load in order when embedded, given that they are all being opened by the same instance of the flash player. It's a complicated mapping application, and at the moment, the maps and data get intermixed as the session variables are overwritten by another instance starting to load before the previous one has finished. We need a way to have them load sequentially, one finishing before another starts to load. The most we can specify in the URL is an &order=1 or similar. We have PHP and SQL on the backend. Edit: The embedded versions are being loaded in an iFrame of a parent site. One php file loads one swf, as many times as the parent site desires.

  How should I handle multiple user-connection defined datasource connection in my .NET application? To illustrate this better; the user provides three (3) pieces of information, username, password and data source name. This data source name is then looked-up in a central database telling that application which main database this user should connect to. My question is, in the DataAccess layer, should we only pass down enough information to uniquely identify that user, and query the central database each time in the DAL; or, should we provide another way to pass the datasource connection down to the DAL?

• Counting multiple rows in MySQL in one query

  I currently have a table which stores a load of statistics such as views, downloads, purchases etc. for a multiple number of items. To get a single operation count on each item I can use the following query: SELECT , COUNT() FROM stats WHERE operation = 'view' GROUP BY item_id This gives me all the items and a count of their views. I can then change 'view' to 'purchase' or 'download' for the other variables. However this means three separate calls to the database. Is it possible to get all three in one go?
