  • Trouble with deploying Sonatype Nexus to Tomcat6 on Gentoo (log4j)

    Hi there. I'm running a tomcat-6 server on Gentoo. I'm having trouble deploying Nexus to my tomcat server (nexus-war from the sonatype website, and tomcat6 via emerge).   • Why are there connections open to my databases?

    I have a program that stores user projects as databases. Naturally, the program should allow the user to create and delete the databases as they need to. When the program boots up, it looks for all the databases in a specific SQLServer instance that have the structure the program is expecting. These database are then loaded into a listbox so the user can pick one to open as a project to work on. When I try to delete a database from the program, I always get an SQL error saying that the database is currently open and the operation fails. I've determined that the code that checks for the databases to load is causing the problem. I'm not sure why though, because I'm quite sure that all the connections are being properly closed. Here are all the relevant functions. After calling BuildProjectList, running "DROP DATABASE database_name" from ExecuteSQL fails with the message: "Cannot drop database because it is currently in use". How should I unit test this class, since I'm not able to instantiate (or seemingly mock?) JsArray? What is the best way to unit test JSNI methods at all?

  • Creating GUI desktop applications that call into either OCaml or Haskell -- Is it a fool's errand?

    In both Haskell and OCaml, it's possible to call into the language from C programs. How feasible would it be to create Native applications for either Windows, Mac, or Linux which made extensive use of this technique? (I know that there are GUI libraries like wxHaskell, but suppose one wanted to just have a portion of your application logic in the foreign language.) Or is this a terrible idea?

In the beginning i just added it to the layout programmatically, but i figured i could try putting it into the XML layout instead (for consistency).   • Universal iPad App rejected because of launch crash that I can't reproduce

After one week of waiting my universal iPad app has been rejected because "is crashing on launch on iPad running iPhone OS 3.2 and iPhone 3GS running iPhone OS 3.1.3 and Mac OS X 10.6.2." Unfortunately I can't replicate the problem, I've tested in debug and release modes and the app works just fine. I even created an ad-hoc configuration and test it in other devices and everything works fine. Start typing on the command line and then type Ctrl-x Ctrl-e, it should drop you into your system's default editor (hopefully Vim) and allow you to edit the command line from there.   • Rational Application Developer (RAD) 7.5+ and websphere runtime will not pick up jars from projects

    With RAD Version: 7.5.3, Java 1.5. I have a couple of different projects. I needed to break out the java code and turn the *.class files into a jar. So basically, same *.class files I just removed the code and then jarred the class files into a jar. I broke the classes into a jar and then included the jar in the project. And I also did an order/export on the jar so that other projects can see the jar. At this point, ideally my project should not have changed because I am using class files in a jar instead of the java code. When I visit my web application in websphere, I get class not found errors on the classes that are now in the jar. Project Structure: A. Project earApp -- will need the webapp B. Project webapp -- will need the project (no jar files or *.java files are found in this project) C. Project javasrc -- the java source and the NEW JAR file are found here. I don't think websphere is acknowledging the jar.     Hello, I am receiving the error: uninitialized constant SQLite3::Driver::Native::Driver::API within my application, however I have installed: ctionmailer-2.3.5 activerecord-jdbcsqlite3-adapter-0.9.6-java jruby-openssl-0.6 rails-2.3.5 actionpack-2.3.5 activeresource-2.3.5 mysql-2.8.1 sqlite3-ruby-1.2.5 activerecord-2.3.5 activesupport-2.3.5 pcaprub activerecord-jdbc-adapter-0.9.6-java jdbc-sqlite3-3.6.3.054 rack-1.0.1 However, it still cannot connect am I missing something?     I'm working on building an iPhone app with Titanium Mobile 1.0 and I see that it compiles down to a native iPhone binary. How does this work? Seems like it would take a lot of heavy lifting to analyze the JavaScript code and do a direct translation into Objective-C without having a subset language like 280 North's Objective-J and Cappuccino.
