• jqGrid using a servlet to store the data, how to access the data from a different java class

  I'm using jqGrid for a table input and setting up the url as a servlet which will deal with the GET and POST requests and save the rows to a Java object. I'm using webwork web framework and I was wondering how I can get access to the object that the servlet is saving the data to. One way I have thought of is to just call the GET method from the Java action class which the servlet will return a JSON string with the object data. Is there a better design for doing this? This is probably not too clear so ask questions so I can help get across my point. Thanks

  I tried installing trial version of sap netweaver 7.1 in windows vista in my laptop but i couldnt succeed there.. then i tried installing SAP WEB AS 6.20 now.I am able to succeed till 91% completion.After that i get some errors and the installation stops... if anybody have any experiences please share.it will be really helpful.I mentioned the complete log details below. nfo: INSTGUI.EXE Protocol version is 10. • MacBook Pro - 7200 vs 5400 rpm drives - Heat and Noise

  I am looking at a new 15" MacBook Pro for development purposes. I am planning to run a Virtual Machine for about 50% of my work (Windows 7 x64, IIS, SQL Server, and VS 2010). The upgrade from a 5400 rpm drive to a 7200 rpm is only $45. From what I understand the faster rotational speed of the 7200 rpm drive will help virtual machine performance. However, I am concerned that additional heat and fan noise might be an issue. I will be running mostly on A/C power so decreased battery life is not a major concern for me. Since I would be running with a Core i7 processor which gives off a fair amount of heat already I was wondering if it might be best to stay at 5400 rpm for the hard drive. What do you all think?   I’m buried in multithreading / parallelism documents, trying to figure out how to implement a threading implementation in a programming language I’ve been designing. I’m trying to map a mental model to the pthreads.h library, but I’m having trouble with one thing: I need my interpreter instances to continue to exist after they complete interpretation of a routine (the language’s closure/function data type), because I want to later assign other routines to them for interpretation, thus saving me the thread and interpreter setup/teardown time. This would be fine, except that pthread_join(3) requires that I call pthread_exit(3) to ‘unblock’ the original thread. How can I block the original thread (when it needs the result of executing the routine), and then unblock it when interpretation of the child routine is complete?

  I'm using iTextSharp to merge a number of pdf files together into a single file. I'm using method described in iTextSharp official tutorials, specifically here, which merges files page by page via PdfWriter and PdfImportedPage. Turns out some of the files I need to merge are filled out PDF Forms and using this method of merging form data is lost. I've see several examples of using PdfStamper to fill out forms and flatten them. What I can't find, is a way to flatten already filled out PDF Form and hopefully merge it with the other files without saving it flattened out version first. Thanks

• inaccessible_boot_device after p2v Windows 2000 Pro SP4 to Workstation 6.5

  I am using the latest VMware Converter Standalone to p2v a physical Windows 2000 Professional SP4 PC. The PC is a standard Pentium with IDE disk from circa 2001. The disk is 20GB partitioned logically into C: and D. It converts with no errors (I did both disks into one VMDK). When I power on the VM in VMware Workstation 6.5 (or Vmware Player 2.5) it gets to the Win 2000 boot graphic then I get a BSOD with the classic 0x7B Stop error: inaccessible_boot_device. Is there anything I can do to get the vm to boot? I am lost for ideas, normally p2v of a basic IDE pc works flawlessly. I'm willing to put a bounty on this as I am trying to sort this out for a client urgently.

  Ok so I am taking a screen shot of a photo I took with my camera on the iPhone. • Load Average runaway

  Is there any way to chase down lockups and runaway load averages? Every so often (pretty randomly) I'll get my load average spike up over 5 usually to around 10-15 and sometimes as high as 75 (dual core machine), and cause my system to lock for an indeterminate amount of time. The only thing I can possibly chase it to is using nVidia fakeraid (RAID-1) with JFS on top of that for my /home partition. Also I noticed that when my load averages spike, the power management system doesn't step up my processor speed from 1.6 to its maximum 2.13Ghz clock speed (not sure if this makes a huge difference with this problem). Any ideas?

But now I declared: parent(pom packaging, scm, repository management) parent(pom packaging, shared dependencies) actual project (jar packaging, few more dependencies) actual project (jar packaging, few more dependencies) I created them from the upper one by "Create module" ... Problem is, that I can't make it automatically fill the Maven Dependencies library In .classpath file there is this line <classpathentry kind="con" path="org.maven.ide.eclipse.MAVEN2_CLASSPATH_CONTAINER"/> as in other "working" projects, but there is nothing on the classpath. Any suggestions please ?

• Windows 7 random black screen when idle

  Occasionally, when I'm away from my computer for about 5 minutes, the computer screen will go black and all USB devices (keyboard/mouse) will lose power. Attempting to move the mouse or pressing keys does not 'wake up' the computer. This only started happening a few days ago but I'm not sure what changes I did could have caused this and I uninstalled programs (one by one) I installed before it started happening, but still having the same issue. The one thing I noticed different about my computer since it started happening is i've been getting random survey popups from www.insightexpress.com. I ran Microsoft Security Essentials scan, it picked up some Java related malware, I removed it but still the same issue. I'm running MBAM right now and will run SAS after.

• VMFS recovery - how do you proceed?

  The more I look into ESX the more often i have to handle cases where the partition table of a disk with a VMFS volume gets corrupted. The reasons for this can be * idiot user * failed update * power failure * .... I guess you guys must already have something like a usual procedure on how to work through this cases. I am especially interested in a straight fast way to find out if the VMFS volume itself is corrupted beyond repair. So far I use very time consuming attempts with scans with Testdisk and similar tools. Do you have better / faster ways ?

  Is there an easy way to add chapters to existing movie files? Note: Actually, I’m not 100% sure if they’re called “chapters” in video files, but it’s the same concept as DVDs. I assume this differs with the video encoding, but any help at all is progress! I have video files in various formats (although .mov, .mp4, and .m4v are my most common). I’m on Mac OS X, but I posted here (instead of the Apple Q&A) because I figured any answers may be useful to other non-Apple power users.   Hi, I have extended Django's User Model using a custom user profile called UserExtension. It is related to User through a unique ForeignKey Relationship, which enables me to edit it in the admin in an inline form! • New build won't POST, no video, no beeps

  Specs: Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P23 FX Integrated graphics (on MoBo) CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 640 RAM: GeIL Pristine 4GB DDR3 Case/PSU: TOPOWER TP-4107BB-400 Is not POSTing, no video output, no beeps. When RAM is removed, 3 beeps. I have tried removing and replacing the CPU and all the power cables with no change. Resetting the BIOS (by removing and replacing the battery) did nothing as well. Is there something I'm forgetting (1st time building from components), or could one of the components be bad? EDIT: New development: with CPU and RAM installed correctly, it will turn on lights and fans (still no POST) and after running for a minute or so it will turn off and the PSU will make a buzzing noise that ceases only when unplugged.

  I am trying to learn NHibernate, and am having difficulty translating a SQL query into one using the criteria API. The data model has tables: Part (Id, Name, ...), Order (Id, PartId, Qty), Shipment (Id, PartId, Qty) For all the parts I want to find the total quantity ordered and the total quantity shipped. In SQL I have: select shipment.part_id, sum(shipment.quantity), sum(order.quantity) from shipment cross join order on order.part_id = shipment.part_id group by shipment.part_id Alternatively: select id, (select sum(quantity) from shipment where part_id = part.id), (select sum(quantity) from order where part_id = part.id) from part But the latter query takes over twice as long to execute. Any suggestions on how to create these queries in (fluent) NHibernate? I have all the tables mapped and loading/saving/etc the entities works fine.

• How to charge an iPhone on a Windows PC without Installing iTunes

  I want to be able to charge my iPhone on my work computer, which is running Windows Server 2008 SP1 64-Bit. When I plug the iPhone in with the USB cable, it will not charge. Windows attempts to locate a driver for the device but only comes up with a generic Camera device and even if I allow that to be installed, the iPhone still does not charge. I have checked the computer's BIOS settings and did not find anything relating to power on the USB devices. I also tried this on ports at the back of the computer in addition to those on the front. The PC is a Dell Optiplex 780. As far as I can tell USB devices do not charge unless Windows has installed an appropriate driver. Since it is a work computer I do not want to install iTunes which does include a driver. I have a workaround that I will post as an answer for reference.

  Hi I'm getting a strange error when building my WCF RIA Services Silverlight project in VS2008. Saving files during a build is dangerous and may result in incorrect build outputs in the future. Continue with save? The other members on my team seems to be doing just fine, but I can't get past this point (I can if I click 'Continue' which then generate the file just fine but I'm reluclant to do so). There must be some setup or similar that I'm missing here... PS: I'm currently on WinXP and WCF RIA Service beta

  I have a NVidia FX580 card in a Dell Precision T1500. The outputs of the back of the card are DVI and 2x displayport. I tried to run 3 screens from the DVI + 2x displayport to dvi adaptors, but the card won't have it...   I have a Project model and it has some text attributes, one is summary. I have some projects that have html tags in the summary and I want to convert that to plain text. I have this method that has a regex that will remove all html tags. def strip_html_comments_on_data self.attributes.each{|key,value| value.to_s.gsub!(/(<[^>]+>|&nbsp;|\r|\n)/,"")} end I also have a before_save filter before_save :strip_html_comments_on_data The problem is that the html tags are still there after saving the project.
