Does Google Tv (NSZ-GS7) work with HTPC?

I was wondering if my Google Tv will seamlessly work with my HTPC. I'm running Windows Media Center using a InfiniTv quad tuner with a cable card. I'm able to connect my GTV with my HTPC and be able to see the GTV interface overlaid on top of media center. Unfortunately, I'm not really able to use the Tv/Movies App to look at live shows and change the channel. I have the Video device setup as Media Center PC, but then the Live Tv App doesn't work. If I change to my tv service provider (Verizon FIOS), the Live Tv App works, but then it won't be able to change the channel.

WPF: Updating visibility of controls not updating the screen

I will preface this by stating that I am new to WPF programming and may be making multiple errors. Any insight that can be provided to help me improve in my skills are greatly appreciated. I am working with a WPF application and am looping through a list of objects that contain properties that describe a document that should be built on the fly and automatically printed. I am attempting to display a small grid in the interface that shows the document being built before it is printed. This serves two purposes: one, it allows the user to see work being done by the application. Two, it renders the items on the screen so that I can then have something to actually print since WPF appears to not be able to load an image for printing dynamicaly without displaying it on the screen. In my code, I am setting the various elements in the grid and setting the visibility to visible. However, the UI is not updating and the printed document doesn't look as intended since the image never shows up on the screen. Basically it builds a visual element for a page, prints an XPS version of it and then builds the next page and prints it, etc. Once all pages have been processed, the job is actually sent to the printer. The only purpose of this application is to let the user print these documents so there is not other task that they can do in the application while the documents print. I thought that putting this task in a background thread would help to update the UI but since I am trying to manipulate items directly on the UI thread it would appear that this option won't work for me. What am I doing wrong here and how can I improve the code so that I can get the behavior that I am trying to achieve?

My Dijit DateTimeCombo widget doesn't send selected value on form submission

i need to create a Dojo widget that lets users specify date & time. i found a sample implementation attached to an entry in the Dojo bug tracker. It looks nice and mostly works, but when i submit the form, the value sent by the client is not the user-selected value but the value sent from the server. What changes do i need to make to get the widget to submit the date & time value? Sample usage is to render a JSP with basic HTML tags (form & input), then dojo.addOnLoad a function which selects the basic elements by ID, adds dojoType attribute, and dojo.parser.parse()-es the page. Scaling an image using the mouse in C#

Hey guys... I'm trying to use the position of the mouse to calculate the scaling factor for scaling an image. Basically, the further you get away from the center of the image, the bigger it gets; and the closer to the center you get, the smaller it gets. I have some code so far but it's acting really strange and I have absolutely no more ideas. First I'll let you know, one thing I was trying to do is average out 5 distances to get a more smooth resize animation. Selective emboldeing of text in a webpage

Expanding Rows for Unique Checkboxes

I was just recently given a project for my job to write a script that compares two mysql databases and print out information into an html table. Currently, I am trying to insert a checkbox by each individual's name and when selected, rows pertaining to that individual will expand underneath the person's name. I am combining javascript into my script to do this, although I really have no experience is it. The problem I am having is that when any checkbox is selected, all the rows for each individual is expanding instead of the rows pertaining only to the one individual selected. In our platform "OMAP35XX_TPS659XX_TI_V1" if you do this we cause the catalog parser to die... For example if we have a library "Musbfn_OMAP35XX_TPS659XX_TI_V1.dll" entering this in the catalogs pbcxml file in a <module> section causes the XML parser to fail with : Error 3 The 'urn:Microsoft.PlatformBuilder/Catalog:Module' element is invalid - The value '012345678901234567890123456789.dll' is invalid according to its datatype 'urn:Microsoft.PlatformBuilder/Catalog:CatalogFileName' - The actual length is greater than the MaxLength value. A: There are a couple workarounds I can think of. I believe the Module element is only used when doing SYSGEN parsing to make sure dependent SYSGENs are present when the item is selected, so I believe it is optional to the catalog. The other obvious workaround is to shorten the soc name. I realize neither of these solutions is ideal. This is not something we anticipated when we tested CE6.0, sorry. This happens to be a polled driver, so obviously it hits the system hard when either under lots of traffic or an error condition occurs and the driver constantly polls. I originally thought that there was no straightforward way to make such code interrupt driven in the kernel (as it's a cludge) but I realised that that's exactly what ETHDBG drivers do. Is there any reason why I shouldn't have a go at implementing a similar mechanism for our kernel resident I2C driver? If not, are there any obvious pitfalls - I've not seen any other BSP's do this in the past... A: You can make a 'proper' driver that calls down into the OAL to do the actual I2C transactions. Alternatively you can build an interrupt-based version in the OAL where you handle everything in the ISR. There is nothing wrong with that so long as the rest of your drivers and app threads can handle longer times with interrupts off while you are servicing I2C interrupts. How SQL Server 2014 impacts Red Gate’s SQL Compare

SQL Compare 10.7 successfully connects to SQL Server 2014, but it doesn’t yet cover the SQL Server 2014 features which would require us to make major changes to SQL Compare to support. In this post I’m going to talk about the SQL Server 2014 features we’ve already begun supporting, and which ones we’re working on for the next release of SQL Compare (v11). From SQL Compare’s perspective, the new memory-optimized table functionality (some might know it as ‘Hekaton’) has been the most important change. It can’t be described as its own object type, but the new functionality is split across two existing object types (three if you count indexes), as it also comes with native stored procedures and inline indexes. Along with connectivity support, the SQL Compare team has already implemented the first part of the puzzle – inline specification of indexes. These are essential for memory-optimized tables because it’s not possible to alter the memory optimized table’s structure, and so indexes can’t be added after the fact without dropping the table. Books Online shows this in more detail in the table_index and column_index clauses of http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms174979(v=sql.120).aspx. SQL Compare 10.7 currently supports reading the new inline index specification from script folders and source control repositories, and will write out inline indexes where it’s necessary to do so (i.e. in UDDTs or when attempting to write projects compatible with the SSDT database project format). However, memory-optimized tables themselves are not yet supported in 10.7. The team is actively working on making them available in the v11 release with full support later in the year, and in a beta version before that. Fortunately, SQL Compare already has some ways of handling tables that have to be dropped and created rather than altered, which are being adapted to handle this new kind of table. Because it’s one of the largest new database engine features, there’s an equally large Books Online section on memory-optimized tables, but for us the most important parts of the documentation are the normal table features that are changed or unsupported and the new syntax found in the T-SQL reference pages. We are treating SQL Compare’s support of Natively Compiled Stored Procedures as a separate unit of work, which will be available in a subsequent beta and also feed into the v11 release. This new type of stored procedure is designed to work with memory-optimized tables to maintain the performance improvements gained by them – but you can still also access memory-optimized tables from normal stored procedures and ad-hoc queries. To us, they’re essentially a limited-syntax stored procedure with a few extra options in the create statement, embodied in the updated CREATE PROCEDURE documentation and with the detailed limitations. They should be easier to handle than memory-optimized tables simply because the handling of stored procedures is less sensitive to dropping the object than the handling of tables. However, both share an incompatibility with DDL triggers and Event Notifications which mean we’ll need to temporarily disable these during the specific deployment operations that involve them – don’t worry, we’ll supply a warning if this is the case so that you can check your auditing arrangements can handle the situation. There are also a handful of other improvements in SQL Server 2014 which affect SQL Compare and SQL Data Compare that are not connected to memory optimized tables. The largest of these are the improvements to columnstore indexes, with the capability to create clustered columnstore indexes and update columnstore tables through them – for more detail, take a look at the new syntax reference. There’s also a new index option for better compression of columnstores (COLUMNSTORE_ARCHIVE) and a new statistics option for incremental per-partition statistics, plus the 90 compatibility level is being retired. We’re planning to finish up these small clean-up features last, and be ready to release SQL Compare 11 with full SQL 2014 support early in Q3 this year. Resize Image thru Slider in Silverlight

Hello Guys, I've been playing with slider on silverlight. Now the result is this, a simple resizing image thru slider. The Image below is the default size of my sample. And the second Image below are the result when the slider slide to right and top. Ubuntu 14.04: After login, top- and sidepanel don't load and system settings don't open

I have Ubuntu 14.04 on a Medion Erazer with the Nvidia GTX570M card. At first, while I had not installed the last nvidia driver, each time I would try to suspend my pc it would freeze frame on the login. Once I managed to install the nvidia drivers, everything seemed to work up until I noticed that suddenly the system settings would not open anymore. I then rebooted my pc, but when I logged in I just end up with my cursor but no top panel or side pannel. Thankfully, I had installed the gnome desktops which works, except for the fact the system settings do not open also in the gnome desktop. I have tried following: Problems after upgrading to 14.04 (only background and pointer after login) except for reinstalling nvidia, since then I would be back at square one with suspend not working. When I try to launch system settings through the terminal, I get: simon@simon-X681X:~$ unity-control-center libGL error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast (unity-control-center:2806): Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'unity-control-center' received an X Window System error. Flash Technology Can Revolutionize your IT Infrastructure

A recent article in the Data Center Journal written by Mark Teter outlines how flash is becoming a disruptive technology in the data center and how it will soon replace HDDs in the storage hierarchy. As Teter explains, the drivers behind this trend are lower cost/performance and power savings; flash is over 100x faster for reads than the fastest HDD, and while it is expensive, it can produce dramatic reductions in the cost of performance as measured in Input/Outputs per second (IOPS). What's more, flash consumes 1/5th the power of HDD, so it's faster AND greener. Teter writes, "when appropriately used, flash turns the current economics of IT performance on its head. sound stops working after a while in ubuntu 12.10

i did a clean install on ubuntu 12.10. Everything seemed fine at first including sound but after a while it stopped working. To get is back i have to restart it, sometimes even more than once. ubuntu 12.04 not responding after software update

Yesterday, I did a software update and since then the system became unusable. To be more precise, I login and then I see only the background image without any bars, images etc.. This happened after updating the system. Please find here the relevant part /var/log/apt/history.log. I'm running 64 bit 12.04 distribution on nVidia. The 2-3 first restarts after the upgrade it was complaining about compiz/unity crashes and then the situation is as described above. I would be the most grateful of you could help me on this. Google play game services and Facebook integration in one game

We are creating a cross platform game for iOS and Android. We have thought about how and with which services we should integrate achievements and scoreboards with. For the iOS part, we are pretty sure that this how we want to do, in order from when the user opens the app for the first time: Connect with Game Center (Should be automatic, the user shouldn't even notice?) We will also get the players nickname for public scoreboards here. Ask if the user wants to connect with Facebook so that we can compare the players highscores with their friends. We could add Google play game services there as well, but I don't feel like that adds anything to the experience for the end user. Now comes the tricky part: Android We thought that we could do just like for iOS, except that we replace Game Center with Google Play Game Services. However, unlike Game Center, Game Services will ask the user to log in to their Google+ account and allow us to access their account. So now, what we have is a double login, first with Google+ and then with Facebook. What will users think about that? Should we scrap Play Services entirely and just ask the user for a nickname within our app and user Facebook for achievements?

An ORA-4031 error is raised when memory is unavailable for use or reuse in the System Global Area (SGA). The error message will indicate the memory pool getting errors and high level information about what kind of allocation failed and how much memory was unavailable. The challenge with ORA-4031 analysis is that the error and associated trace is for a "victim" of the problem. The failing code ran into the memory limitation, but in almost all cases it was not part of the root problem. Looking for the best way to diagnose? When an ORA-4031 error occurs, a trace file is raised and noted in the alert log if the process experiencing the error is a background process. User processes may experience errors without reports in the alert log or traces generated. The V$SHARED_POOL_RESERVED view will show reports of misses for memory over the life of the database. Diagnostics scripts are available in Note 430473.1 to help in analysis of the problem. There is also a training video on using and interpreting the script data Note 1087773.1. 11g DiagnosabilityStarting with Oracle Database 11g Release 1, the Diagnosability infrastructure was introduced which places traces and core files into a location controlled by the DIAGNOSTIC_DEST initialization parameter when an incident, such as an ORA-4031 occurs. For earlier versions, the trace file will be written to either USER_DUMP_DEST (if the error was caught in a user process) or BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST (if the error was caught in a background process like PMON or SMON). The trace file contains vital information about what led to the error condition. The default trace associated with the error provides very high level information about the memory problem and the "victim" that ran into the issue. The data in the default trace is not going to point to the root cause of the problem. When migrating from 9i to 10g and higher, it is necessary to increase the size of the Shared Pool due to changes in the basic design of the shared memory area.
