  • ASP.NET MVC 1.0: OutputCache, RenderPartial and WriteSubstitution

    Hi folks, after digging into this topic and having the requirement, that a single page should be totally cached, except for a Html.RenderPartial("LogOnUserControl"); i couldn't find any working solution on this... the only "it getting warmer" thing i foudn was this solution , which unfortunately is not working with a "partial view", which requires the Request.IsAuthenticated attribute ( the fakeContext is losing this info ) Have you heard of any other solution to do this?!

  • How do I correctly organize output into columns?

    The first thing that comes to my mind is to do a bunch of \t's, but that would cause words to be misaligned if any word is longer than any other word by a few characters. For example, I would like to have something like: Name Last Name Middle initial Bob Jones M Joe ReallyLongLastName T Instead, by including only "\t"'s in my cout statement I can only manage to get Name Last Name Middle initial Bob Jones M Joe ReallyLongLastName T or Name Last Name Middle initial Bob Jones M Joe ReallyLongLastName T What else would I need to do?

    Hi, I just discovered this component and started working with it. I understand that the whole concept of it is to initialize nodes on the go as they are needed but I need all of them to initialize instantly. What is the smart way to do it? The only thing I came up with is to use GetLast() after adding nodes. I believe, there is a better way, or not?

    Playing around with MongoDB and NoRM in .NET. Thing that confused me - there are no transactions (can't just tell MongoConnection.Begin/EndTransaction or something like that). I want to use Unit of work pattern and rollback changes in case something fails. Is there still a clean way how to enrich my repository with ITransaction?

    Is the recent movement towards anonymous methods/functions by mainstream languages like perl and C# something important, or a weird feature that violates OO principles? Are recent libraries like the most recent version of Intel's Thread Building Blocks and Microsofts PPL and Linq that depend on such things a good thing, or not? Are languages that currently reject anonymous methods/functions, like Java, making wise choices in sticking with a purely OO model, or are they falling behind by lacking a fundamental programming feature?

    yea so I'm trying to display a paragraph in a tooltip when I hover a certain picture box. The problem is, the tooltip takes that paragraph, and spans it on one line, all accross my screen. How can I make it so that it takes a smaller, more readable area? or, maybe you have another technique to achieve the same thing, but without the tooltip function?

    Hey all, I use MySQLdb a lot when dealing with my webserver. I often find myself repeating the lines: row = cursor.fetchone() while row: do_processing(row) row = cursor.fetchone() Somehow this strikes me as somewhat un-pythonic. Is there a better, one-line way to accomplish the same thing, along the lines of inline assignment in C: while (row = do_fetch()) { do_processing(row); } I've tried figuring out the syntax using list comprehensions, but I can't seem to figure it out.     On linux, we have LIBRARY_PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variables in order for programs to search for libraries. Do we have similar thing on windows? Particularly Windows 7? Also, I would like to know best practices for DLL use (where to put them, use envs or not, etc.), since I want to work on windows like everyone does, and not to sloth myself on workarounds :)

  • Korean keyboard handling is different on Win 7 Ultimate K then on a regular Win 7

    Hi, I have a Win32 application which hosts a windowless flash activeX. When I'm trying to enter Korean keyboard input on a regular Win machine (after adding Korean support), everything works fine. However, when I trying the same thing on a "real" Korean windows (Win 7 Ultimate K), the text comes out strangely. I.e., pressing the "z" button would yield "1K". Any ideas? Thanks in advace

    I’m trying to embed some JARs into single OSGi bundle using the feature of maven-bundle-plugin The thing that worries me is that all packages of embedded JARs are put into the Import-Package header of the generated MANIFEST.MF. If I specify explicitly to use only the packages I need, like in the following snippet: Import-Package: org.osgi.framework The build fails with BND error (unresolved references). So, the question here is how can I build the bundle with embedded JARs with "Import-Package" header I need?
