Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^(.*)\$ $1.php [nc] I wanted to rename my address, example: http://www.abc.com - http://www.abc.com http://abc.com - http://www.abc.com http://www.abc.com/123.html - http://www.abc.com/123 http://www.abc.com/12-12-12.html - http://www.abc.com/12-12-12 http://subdomain.abc.com/123.html - http://subdomain.abc.com/123 Basically removing the extension and ensuring that its www is intact.

  • Rewrite Trailing Slash Issue

    Here is my .htaccess file Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on ErrorDocument 404 /404.php RewriteRule ^(\d*)/(.*) /page.php?id=$1&slug=$2 It all works fine. But the moment I type site.com/342/my-page/ (with the trailing slash) I get a 404. I need the trailing slash as optional. I.e it will redirect to the correct page with or without the slash. I tried this, but it didn't work RewriteRule ^(\d*)/(.*)/?$ /page.php?id=$1&slug=$2 Any ideas?

I want to create a cookie with a part of the request url as in the following: RewriteRule ([0-9])/. - [CO=cookieName:$1:example.com] for example: If the request url is: http://www.example.com/1234, i want to set a cookie name "cookieName" with the value "1234" it seems no cookie is add when a dollar sign ($1) is between the cookie directive. When compiling the code with version "1.6.0_16" with the flag -Xlint I get the following warning: warning: [cast] redundant cast to javax.xml.bind.JAXBElement<java.lang.Boolean> [javac] this.r = ((JAXBElement<Boolean> ) value); What does the warning mean, should I be worried? As I have generated and not written the code, what can I do to get rid of this specific warning?

    I am going to develop a Google Gadget container site, that will be able to host OpenSocial compatible widgets (that I believe are Google gadgets, too, right?). Do you have any guidance where to start? I know that the good start is the iGoogle Developer Home site and that framework what I would like exists - Shindig, but is little clumsy. Tutorial links do not work, for start. Do you think it would be wise to use Shindig? Maybe just for a start and then develop any customizations, if needed? Or would be wiser to start from scratch?     I have a web application where users can register them self and then save Java and C++ programs in their account. Programs are saved in a tmp directory like, /tmp -user1 --program1 --program2 -user2 --program1 --program2 So all the users folders are in same "tmp" directory. I want to know how can I proved security by not allowing a user to access files of other users. A user will be executing a java or c++ program in his folder which can be used to read files on the server. How to prevent this? I am new to this thing I don't know how to go about this.     Hi, I am trying to make our subversion repository accessible via multiple URLs. To do so, I was thinking to use the LocationMatch directive. My configuration is: <Location ~ "/(svn|repository)"> DAV svn SVNPath /opt/svn AuthzSVNAccessFile /etc/subversion/access </Location> The above configuration does NOT work ... Strange thing is that if i use for example this configuration, it works well for both URLs: <Location ~ "/(svn|repository)"> SetHandler server-status </Location> For me it looks like the combination of DAV svn and LocationMatch does not really work... or am I doing something wrong here?

I didn't understand what causing this error. i checked char encoding etc etc. everything.. I have seen in http://web-sniffer.net/ , it seems server sending that response for netscape/mozilla browsers. A few views cache the whole HttpResponse objects, therefore there might be a better alternative for returning the Memcached data other than going through Django.   • Can mod_rewrite do math?

    I am planning to convert my website to a new CMS, but I would like to use mod_rewrite to seamlessly redirect old links to their new locations. The catch is that my new blog will not have the same article numbers as the old, because I'll import some older blog entries in their first. Thus, my mod_rewrite would need to take a URL like old.php?article=125, do the addition to figure out the new article number (say +200, for this example), and redirect to new.php?i=325. Can mod_rewrite do the addition on its own, or am I going to need some kind of 'helper' script to do that?
