  • keyboard works in the BIOS(except a), but not at the password screen(win 7, 64bit)

    The computer is a acer aspire 7720g laptop. When windows want me to input my password, the only keys working is caps lock, the numpad and the m key(and the m key works like a combined m and enter key). I did spill some water on the keyboard yesterday but the same thing happens with usb keyboards. I disabled the quick boot in the bios, making it go through every test at bootup, which resulted in continous beeping from the computer. Anyone know how to solve this?

    I would like to create custom backup sets for Mozy which exclude certain directories. For example, I would like to backup my Itunes folder, but exclude all podcasts. I have created a backup set which searches in /Users/me/Music and used this query kMDItemPath == "*Podcasts*"wc to exclude all matching files. However, nothing matches. Queries which use the kMDItemFSName spotlight attribute work fine, but any query using kMDItemPath doesn't seem to work at all. What am I doing wrong?

  • Want to automate adding Hidden photos to iPhoto using a folder action

    I'm trying to find away to create an automator action that puts photos into iPhoto but also adds the hidden tag to them. I've started with the folder action template because I'd like to save the files there and have automator kick off a series of steps that ends with the original image being hidden once I've had the enhancement, re-size, etc steps fire off. The only step I can't figure out is applying the hidden image attribute.

  • PHP ssh2_fingerprint() does not match ssh-keygen -lf id_rsa.pub

    I am using the lib ssh2 module with PHP and calling the function ssh2_fingerprint() to get the keys fingerprint. According to all resources on the internet, I can get the fingerprint of a public key by executing: ssh-keygen -lf id_rsa.pub Which outputs something like: 2048 d4:41:3b:45:00:49:4e:fc:2c:9d:3a:f7:e6:6e:bf:e7 id_rsa.pub (RSA) However, when I call ssh2_fingerprint($connection, SSH2_FINGERPRINT_HEX) in PHP with the same public key I get: dddddba52352e5ab95711c10fdd56f43 Shouldn't they match? What am I missing?

  • Bringing TechNet licensed server into production

    I am currently trialling an install of Windows Server 2008R2 + SQL Server 2008 R2 using license keys from my company's TechNet subscription. If the trial is successful, I'd like to bring the server into production as is (there's a lot of config needed for it that I don't want to repeat) so my question really is is it possible to change the Windows and SQL server licenses from TechNet ones to "proper" volume licenses and legally use the server in production? Or do I have to reinstall everything with volume licences?

    Gitosis is able to authenticate users based on public/private key pair. It is able to find out which user is currently committing. However, the user name and email is taken from the client's Git configuration ('git config user.name' etc.), which can be set to arbitrary values. Is there any way to associate user names and emails with their public keys and then make Gitosis uses these names and emails as the name and email of the committer?

Is there a UNIX tool that takes a selection parameter (id attribute or XPath), reads HTML from stdin and prints to stdout the subtree based on the selection? For example, given an html document I want to filter out everything but the subtree of the element with id="content". Basically, I'm looking for the simplest HTML/XML equivalent to grep.

    Ever since i installed windows 8, I'm unable to use Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Keys (to select words and phrases quickly in text editors) with any program. Ive found the same issue with other models of Logitech keyboards (not with any other brand, though) however, the solutions provided to those other models aren't working for me (or are impossible to complete, because of the difference in the model) If you have a possible solution, please reply!     Hello all, I'm using Windows Vista, and I was wondering if I can put shortcuts for applications.Like for example, if I press a certain combination of keys I get notepad, or something like that. If those shortcuts were already there, how can I know them?     I have English Windows 7 Professional with Hungarian keyboard language installed. The English keyboard layout works as expected, but for the Hungarian layout some kind of "accent combining" is activated. The effect of this ^+o becomes ô, ^+a becomes â, etc. This is not helpful at all, since the accented characters of Hungarian are already mapped to keys, but it's really annoying because I have to type a non-combining character to actually get ^. Is there any way to turn this "feature" off?

The reason is I'm trying to clean up some old stored procs and tables, some of which can be removed, some of which can have columns pruned.   • I wrote a new X11 keyboard layout file, how do I get my system to recognize it?

    I like to configure my keys my way, so I wrote a keyboard symbols file and I put it in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/cat I use it by running setxkbmap cat -variant dvorak (and it works), but it doesn't show up in the console configuration (dpkg-reconfigure console-setup) nor in the Gnome keyboard settings... nor anywhere else, so I have to run setxkbmap every time. I suppose that I have to register it somewhere, but where? Any hints? Thanks!

    I am trying to use ssh/scp from Windows to Linux without having to enter a password. This is what I have done, and it doesn't seem to work: generated public and private keys using Putty Key Generator (on Windows) saved the files as id_rsa.pub and id_rsa copied them into ~/.ssh added id_rsa.pub to the Linux box in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys I then try to ssh to the Linux box from Windows and I still have to enter a password Am I missing something?

I have set both HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open\command From "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" %1 To "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" %1 But running an http address still opens Internet Explorer not Firefox. How do I change this?
