    Can someone please explain the difference between IE8 browser mode and document mode in simple terms? What causes the browser mode to change? What causes the document mode to change? If a user changes the mode(s) via developer tools, does the change remain even if the page is refreshed? I am asking this because we are doing some IE8 testing here, and different people have different combinations of the modes, and i want to try to figure out how this is happening.

  • Exactly what is a "third party"? (And who are the first and second party?)

    I know precisely what a "third-party library" is, so I assume that the "third-party" in this case, simply is an arbitrary person/company other than the developer? Has it to do with "first person" / "second person" etc perhaps? The fact that there is a "third party" suggests that there is a "first party" and a "second party" as well. Are those terms well defined? (I'm not a native english speaker.)

  • How do you model roles / relationships with Domain Driven Design in mind?

    If I have three entities, Project, ProjectRole and Person, where a Person can be a member of different Projects and be in different Project Roles (such as "Project Lead", or "Project Member") - how would you model such a relationship? In the database, I currently have the following tablers: Project, Person, ProjectRole Project_Person with PersonId & ProjectId as PK and a ProjectRoleId as a FK Relationship. I'm really at a loss here since all domain models I come up with seem to break some "DDD" rule. Are there any 'standards' for this problem? I had a look at a Streamlined Object Modeling and there is an example what a Project and ProjectMember would look like, but AddProjectMember() in Project would call ProjectMember.AddProject(). So Project has a List of ProjectMembers, and each ProjectMember in return has a reference to the Project. Looks a bit convoluted to me. update After reading more about this subject, I will try the following: There are distinct roles, or better, model relationships, that are of a certain role type within my domain. For instance, ProjectMember is a distinct role that tells us something about the relationship a Person plays within a Project. It contains a ProjectMembershipType that tells us more about the Role it will play. I do know for certain that persons will have to play roles inside a project, so I will model that relationship. ProjectMembershipTypes can be created and modified. These can be "Project Leader", "Developer", "External Adviser", or something different. A person can have many roles inside a project, and these roles can start and end at a certain date. Such relationships are modeled by the class ProjectMember. public class ProjectMember : IRole { public virtual int ProjectMemberId { get; set; } public virtual ProjectMembershipType ProjectMembershipType { get; set; } public virtual Person Person { get; set; } public virtual Project Project { get; set; } public virtual DateTime From { get; set; } public virtual DateTime Thru { get; set; } // etc... } ProjectMembershipType: ie.     OK I'm completely stumped here: I have installed (and reinstalled) ASP.NET MVC2 installed several times and I still can't see the ASP.NET MVC2 project templates shown in Visual Web Developer 2008 Express. I had checked the default project directory templates and had verified that those templates are installed, for example these templates files are found C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\VWDExpress\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\Web\1033: EmptyMvcWebApplicationProjectTemplatev2.0.cs.zip MvcWebApplicationProjectTemplatev2.0.cs.zip Any idea of tracking what's the problem and fix it?

  • Android Studio gradle-###-bin.zip vs. gradle-###-all.zip

    One developer on my team has some setting in Android Studio that replaces the distributionUrl entry in gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.properties to use the gradle-###-all.zip, while my Android Studio changes it back to gradle-###-bin.zip. Basically, my diff always looks like: -distributionUrl=https\://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.12-all.zip +distributionUrl=https\://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.12-bin.zip This is annoying. What setting is it, and how do I change it?

  • iPhone OpenGL ES missing functions should be there - glBlendFuncSeparate etc

    I'm using OpenGL ES 1.1 on the iPhone, and I'd like to use the following functions: glBlendFuncSeparate glBlendColor With their related constants. These didn't exist in early iPhone GL implementations, but according to this page: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/releasenotes/General/iPhone30APIDiffs/index.html they should be there in 3.0+, which I'm building for. But I'm getting "implicit definition" warnings. What do I need to do to get those functions? Thanks!

    I'm trying to use the MPMediaPlayback protocol's currentPlaybackRate() to slow down a video. I'm confused though as the class MPMoviePlayerController states that: You can control most aspects of playback programmatically using the methods and properties of the MPMediaPlayback protocol, to which this class conforms. Except just above in the header here: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/MediaPlayer/Reference/MPMoviePlayerController_Class/MPMoviePlayerController/MPMoviePlayerController.html it doesn't seem to. All I want to do is slow down the playback rate for a video.

    I have a developer license and I've generated .mobileprovision and .cer files. I've put the provision file on my device, double-clicked the .cer file and added it to the login keychain. But when I'm trying to build the app in XCode, I get the error: CodeSign error: code signing is required for product type 'Application' in SDK 'Device - iPhone OS 3.1.3' What am I doing wrong?
