• How to delete system default printer forms?

  On Windows there are system default printer forms which can't be deleted from the Print Server Properties dialog. Is there some other way they can be removed? We are never going to use page sizes like Envelope, B5(JIS), US Std Fanfold, etc. and I'd like to save users (and myself!) from having to scroll through a big long list of noise. Our print servers are Windows Server 2003 if that makes any difference. thanks.

Do I need one system board per domain (implying a total of 2 domains), or can I create 4 domains, each with one cpu each?

• Ubuntu One Bookmark sync not working.

  Everything in Ubuntu One sync works great except bookmark sync.   i have read some articles about mda and mta but still don't have a hang on it. what is exactly is the difference between a mda like fetchmail and a mta like sendmail. in my computer, do i have to have a mta installed? if im using Apple Mail to send messages, is it using a mta application in my computer to send the mail? where does it send the mail? and if i receive mails with it, does it receives it with mda installed in my computer? would be great if someone could explain how it works for me, or give me good links to good tutorials. thanks

• "A device attached to the system is not functioning" when reconnecting to XenApp 6 session

  A few of our XenApp 6 customers are seeing issue sometimes when users move from one workstation to another and try to connect to their running session. An error box pops up with "A device attached to the system is not functioning" This is on healthy 2008 R2 servers with all Citrix hotfixes applied. After the error, the user's session must be logged out before they can get back in. This was posted here: http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=273457 , but is not answered. There is nothing telling in the event logs, and it is an inconsistent problem. Has anyone else seen this issue of found a fix?

  I have a feeling my server is being lazily DDoS'ed, though, I have never experienced it before, so, I may be wrong. • How can I adjust system volume from within XBMC?

  While running XBMC, I can adjust the volume of the XBMC application itself. However, this volume is limited by the current system volume. For example, if the system volume is at 80% and XBMC is at 100%, I am effectively at 80% and cannot go higher. Or if the sound is too soft and needs a boost, I would normally increase the system volume beyond 100%. XBMC takes over the whole screen, so the system volume is not accessible. Pressing the Super key brings up the dash and top menu, but clicking on it is difficult and inconsistent, and very quickly XBMC takes over the screen again. How can I adjust the system volume without having to quit XBMC?

  We have set up a new SharePoint 2007 site with a Records Repository. We're using Exchange 2007 Managed Folders to route e-mails to this repository based on the 'label' attached to the e-mail as set in the Exchange 2007 journaling options. E-mails added to a Managed Folder get sent to SharePoint, they end up in the "Submitted E-mail Records" list of the Records Repository. That's according to plan, but the e-mails are not routed to the respective document library as defined by the label. Instead an error appears in the event viewer for every e-mail listed in the Submitted E-mail Records list, on every interval of the records repository schedule (set to every two minutes for testing purposes): Value cannot be null, parameter name: g. Sending a document from the SharePoint site iself to the Records Repository via the Send To... link works fine, but e-mails get stuck in the list... We have set Document Libraries in the Respository with and without content types (with matching names with the Label and the Record Routing rule set). Any ideas what could be wrong? This is in the event log: Every two minutes the following error appears in the Application Log: Source: Office SharePoint Server Category: Records Center Type: Error Event ID: 4975 User: N/A Computer: SPS2007 Description: Value cannot be null.   One of our employees works with Entourage on his MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6) accessing Exchange Server 2007. Last Friday morning, I think while working over a VPN, Entourage (I think it was Entourage) deleted all his objects (mail, calendar, contacts) on the server and while creating a lot of strange folders (starting with underscores) on the client. The local data seems to be there, but not in a consistent form. Since the user's mailbox is rather big, I suspect, that there was some kind of "move" operation which did not complete. I tried to export the data, but the export stops because of a corrupted object. Is there a tool or another way to export or retrieve the local data? Edit - FYI: we solved the problem getting his data from the previous night's backup.

  I have a windows 7 laptop that I use to remote in to work, which is a XP sp3. I have a brother MFC-8670dn printer. I have the win7 print drivers installed and working on the win7. I made local printers accessible over the RDP. I installed the xp drivers for the Brother printer. So my question is, " Is there a way that I can print from my win7 machine remotely connected to a xp sp3 system"? Or is there no way that I can put the correct drivers on the xp machine to have it redirect to my laptop(win7)

• What is the correct mail set up for multiple domains on one server?

  I have a machine (centos 5) with one external ip address. On that machine I have many virtual hosts with a few different top level domain names and sub-domains under those eg. sub1.domain1.com sub2.domain1.com sub3.domain1.com sub1.domain2.com sub2.domain2.com sub1.domain3.com And so on... Alot of these different sites need to send mail as their corresponding domain (or second-level domain at least). I need to set up DKIM, SPF (but that's handled on the DNS) and rDNS lookup so the mail gets received. As I understand it, you can only have one rDNS entry per machine. I could set up a server for each top level domain, but I'm thinking that'll get expensive. What should I do here? Is there a way to have multiple rDNS lookups on one ip address? How do I setup DKIM signing for multiple domain names on the one machine? Are there any services out there that could handle this for me? Thanks for your help...

• Embedded .swf file in .pfd-Ubuntu 10.04

  I have just finished a presentation in LaTeX. In this very .pdf file I have included a .swf animation(done with adobe flash CS5 in windows) which starts when you click on it. While I have already installed a relevant player(swfdec flash player) neither document viewer nor okular are able to reproduce it. I tried with my player to make sure that the file is not corrupted and the result was that it can be produced. I tried the same .pdf file in windows using adobe reader and there is no problem there. The embedded file can be reproduced with no problem. So I thought of installing adobe in ubuntu. I tried there to see if the problem was solved. Things got a bit better. Adobe could understand that there is something there, so when clicked I got a message that I had to get the proper player. When I clicked on a relevant button I expected to open my browser in a player's page. Instead nothing happened. If I place my mouse's cursor next to the space that defines my animation the is a "message" stating "Media File(application/x-shockwave flash)". The next step was to install Adobe Flash player, but I couldn't find the standallone player;only the browser's plugs... How can I get this .swf file play in pdf?

• Export GFI MailArchiver e-mails for import into Exchange 2010 SP1 Personal Archiving

  We have an existing installation of GFI MailArchiver 5 with several databases of archives (perhaps 100-150GB). The goal is to export each user's archived e-mail and then import it into Exchange 2010 SP1 Personal Archives. GFI has a tool to do this, but it's very rudimentary and has severe, frankly unworkable, limitations. It only allows me to query based on the e-mail headers. Due to the fact that we have multiple aliases that may show in multiple headers (To:, Cc:), not to mention the fact that this won't cover a user's membership in a distribution group at a given point in time, this tool will not suffice. Another option is for me extract the e-mails from the GFI databases without using the tool, but this would require me to write my own tool to reconstruct them and I really would rather not go down that path. I feel very stuck on this issue. Has anyone here done a similar migration? How can this best be handled?

• Outlook 2007 - slow loading messages

  Outlook 2007 is slow to load messages...Why is this, and what can I do to speed it up? Currently have about 850 messages in the Inbox folder, and the preview pane turned off, thus I view messages by double-clicking. This is where it gets slow, when I double click, it brings up a new window with everything but the actual message loaded, which then takes several more seconds to appear. Solutions? Thanks!   Hey all i am using the windows verison of VMware Workstation 7.x and I am getting this error when i start my VM error loading operating system That only started to happen when i tried to load that vmdk file into the program VirtualBox. Prior to this it ran just fine. Ever since then i have been unable to start it in VMware Workstation 7.x... I've already tried to repair the vmdk file but when i do it tells me there are no errors found? I used vmware-vdiskmanager.exe -R "c:\blah\my vm disk.vmdk" Anyone else have any more suggestions i could try? It's a 300+GB VM so i really don't want to lose it!!! Thanks, David

• Why is Apple System Image Utility so slow?

  I'm using Apple System Image Utility (SIU) on Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and I am rather disturbed it takes over Three hours to make a Netrestore or Netboot image. I'm using as the donor machine a brand new iMac and as the imaging machine a brand new iMac connected using target disk mode & Firewire 800. The hard drive size and subsequent image is about 8GB. To restore the image over the network takes about 4 minutes. Given that Norton Ghost will take an image in about 5 minutes (or less on newer machines) over USB2, why is the Mac over an order of magnitude slower?

• When pointing to new DNS servers is there any chance of E-mails being lost if the old E-mail hosting service is still up?

  I am changing webhosts and will be using the new hosts mail servers instead of the old ones. I have created all the correctly named mailboxes on the new service but have also not yet cut ties with the old webhost. I am expecting that even if the new DNS values which point to the new hosts DNS servers and respective SOA\zone file with the new MX values have not yet propagated and an E-mail is directed at the old hosts mail servers as per the mx records in the SOA\zone records which the old hosting provider holds, the E-mail would still come through to the mailbox that's on the old host providers mail servers. So I am just trying to reaffirm if I got this right and it's essentially impossible for me to loose an E-mail since it will hit either the old hosts mail servers or the new ones ? Also is it possible to configure the same E-mail account to check and collect mail from different mail servers by entering multiple pop3 addresses ? And if I choose to keep the old web hosts mail hosting services as a backup by specifying the mx records for it with a lower priority in the SOA records hosted by the new webhost, is it possible to have any incoming E-mails sent to both servers by the mail daemon so I have two copies? Or is my only option having the primary mail server forward the E-mail somehow to the old mailserver ?

Before I took the plunge and forced disks back online, I took a picture of the RAID BIOS screen with my camera phone. • Sent items folder in a shared mailbox - Outlook 2003/2007

  I have permission to attached a mailbox to my profile. This is a mailbox I share and manage with other people. When we send from this address, we would like to have the message show up in this mailbox's sent items folder. The current behavior is that the message goes to our primary account's sent items. I'm using Outlook 2007 but others are using Outlook 2003. This is in an Exchange 2007 environment.
