    I'm thinking of a web app that uses CouchDB extensively, to the point where there would be great gains from serving with the native erlang HTTP API as much as possible. Can you configure Apache as a reverse proxy to allow outside GETs to be proxied directly to CouchDB, whereas PUT/POST are sent to the application internal logic (for sanitation, authentication...)? Or is this unwise -- the CouchDB built-in authentication options just seem a little weak for a Web App. Thanks

    I have a web app using Hibernate, and I am attempting to persist some data, but it is failing to persist within a Transaction despite using the @Transactional annotation.     Hi all, I currently have a JAX-WS Web Service that receives some credentials in the HTTP header. These are used for BASIC authentication. There is a filter that performs authentication by reading the HTTP headers and checking against the database. Still, I need the username from within the Web Service in order to perform other service logic related stuff. Is there a way of accessing the HTTP headers from within the Web Service? Thanks.

As far as I could understand it, I can directly put the Authentication object into SecurityContextHolder.     Hi, I have need to communicate between two iframes of the same domain, which live inside a parent page on a different domain that I have no control over. This is a Facebook app and the basic layout is this apps.facebook.com/myapp L iframe1 (src='mysite.com/foo') L iframe2 (src='mysite.com/bar') I need frame1 to talk to frame2, but in Opera I can't access window.parent.frames['frame2'] to do the usual cross-domain methods (updating location.hash for example) Is there an alternate way to accomplish this in Opera? This has been tested and works fine.   • ASA 5505 stops local internet when connected to VPN

    Hi I have a Cisco ASA router running firmware 8.2(5) which hosts an internal LAN on 192.168.30.0/24. I have used the VPN Wizard to setup L2TP access and I can connect in fine from a Windows box and can ping hosts behind the VPN router. However, when connected to the VPN I can no longer ping out to my internet or browse web pages. I would like to be able to access the VPN, and also browse the internet at the same time - I understand this is called split tunneling (have ticked the setting in the wizard but to no effect) and if so how do I do this? Alternatively, if split tunneling is a pain to setup, then making the connected VPN client have internet access from the ASA WAN IP would be OK.
