  • Why does php's file_get_contents incorrectly retrieve json files from xkcd?

    In writing a PHP script to download xkcd comics, i incurred errors when trying to get specific comics (as opposed to the latest one). Specifically, pointing file_get_contents at the following url: xkcd.com/$COMIC_NUM/info.0.json inexplicably retrieved the xhtml version of the comic's page on xkcd.com, and not a JSON file. However, if i request the exact same url in my browser, the correct JSON file is downloaded. I'm not sure why this is happening, but i suspect it has something to do with the request headers being sent. Please help! :S

  • how do i detect \r\n in a u_char type of buffer?

    i am trying to construct http content from packet sniffing in C. right now i am able to save all the packets in a file but i want to get rid of the headers in the first packet. they are also being saved as per they are a part of tcp payload. the actual body after the header starts after double "crlf" or \r\n\r\n in http response. how do i detect \r\n so that i can only save the following part of the buffer in the file. the buffer is u_char type. i cant figure out the command or the part i looked on google and other places but i mostly find c# commands, nothing in C.

  • elinks http autentication

    I'm trying to use linux elinks text browser to go to a website. This site requires http authentication. If I press escape it and hide the login prompt once and then If I try to go the particular website again it doesn't show the login prompt again. I try "flush all caches" But it doesn't work until I close my terminal and get a new one. Is there any other way to get over with this? This should be a simple question. But I googled and couldn't find a answer.

  • Why do I get "ignoring out-of-zone data" when restarting BIND

    I've been using my own DNS server but then I moved to a third part DNS provider. Yesterday I wanted to go back to using my own DNS's and cancel this third party service. I've lowered TTL in current DNS conf, changed DNS info in GoDaddy for my domain and that's when problems started. My domain seems to be working only for some people but not for others so clearly something is wrong. When restarting bind service named restart everything seems to be OK but later in email from Logwatch I'm getting errors like this: mydomain.com:30: ignoring out-of-zone data (ns1.mydns.com): 3 Time(s) mydomain.info:16: ignoring out-of-zone data (ns1.mydns.com): 5 Time(s) Can anyone point me in the right direction?   • Web Application Problems (web.config errors) HTTP 500.19 with IIS7.5 and ASP.NET v2

    This is driving the whole team crazy. There must be some simple mis-configured part of IIS or our Web Server, but every time we try to run out ASP.NET Web Application on IIS 7.5 we get the following error... Here's the error in full: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. `Detailed Error Information` Module IIS Web Core Notification Unknown Handler Not yet determined Error Code 0x8007000d Config Error Config File \\?\E:\wwwroot\web.config Requested URL http://localhost:80/Default.aspx Physical Path Logon Method Not yet determined Logon User Not yet determined Config Source -1: 0: The machine is running Windows Server 2008 R2. We're developing our Web Application using Visual Studio 2008. According to Microsoft the code 8007000d means there's a syntax error in our web.config -- except the project builds and runs fine locally. Looking at the web.config in XML Notepad doesn't bring up any syntax errors, either. I'm assuming it must be some sort of poor configuration on my part...? Does anyone know where I might find further information about the error? Nothing is showing in EventViewer, either :( Not sure what else would be helpful to mention... Assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks! UPDATES! - POSTED WEB.CONFIG BELOW Ok, since I posted the original question above, I've tracked down the precise lines in the web.config that were causing the error. Here are the lines (they appear between <System.webServer> tags)... <httpHandlers> <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx"/> <add verb="*" path="*.asmx" validate="false" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56"/> </httpHandlers> Note: If I delete the lines between the <httpHandlers> I STILL get the error. I literally have to delete <httpHandlers> (and the lines inbetween) to stop getting the above error. Once I've done this I get a new 500.19 error, however. The new error is also more explicit and specifically complains that it doesn't recognize the attribute "validate" (as seen on the third line above). Removing this attribute then makes it complain that the same line doesn't have the required "name" attribute. Adding this attribute then brings up ASP.NET error... Could not load file or assembly 'System.web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=f2cb5667dc123a56' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Obviously I think these new errors have just arisen from me deleting the <httpHandlers> tags in the first place -- they're obviously needed by the application -- so the question remains: Why would these tags kick up an error in IIS in the first place??? Do I need to install something to IIS to make it work with them? Thanks again for any help. WEB.CONFIG Here's the troublesome bits of our web.Config...   • Can't join OS X Mavericks to AD Domain

    I'm attempting to join an OS X Mavericks (10.9) client to a Windows Server 2008 Active Directory domain, however the bind fails with this error in the OS X client's system.log: Oct 24 15:03:15 host.domain.com com.apple.preferences.users.remoteservice[5547]: -[ODCAddServerSheetController handleOtherActionError: gotError: Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=5202 "Authentication server encountered an error while attempting the requested operation." UserInfo=0x7f9e6cb3e180 {NSLocalizedDescription=Authentication server encountered an error while attempting the requested operation., NSLocalizedFailureReason=Authentication server encountered an error while attempting the requested operation.}, Authentication server encountered an error while attempting the requested operation. I've joined (bound) Ubuntu Linux clients to the same domain with net ads join in the past with no problems (using the same administrative user). I don't have access to any server logs. Here's the GUI error (from Directory Utility) on the OS X client: Here's the GUI error (from User's and Groups) in System Preferences on the OS X client: Update After some Wiresharking I've got some more info: OS X Client - KDC (over UDP): AS_REQ (no padata) OS X Client <- KDC (over UDP): KRB5KDC_ERR_PREAUTH_REQUIRED OS X Client - KDC (over UDP): AS_REQ (this time with PA-ENC-TIMESTAMP in padata) OS X Client <- KDC (over UDP): KRB5KDC_ERR_RESPONSE_TOO_BIG OS X Client - KDC (over TCP): AS_REQ (also with PA-ENC-TIMESTAMP in padata) OS X Client <- KDC (over TCP): KDC_ERR_ETYPE_NOSUPP ...and that's it. This is what I think is going on: The OS X client sends a kerberos request. The KDC says, "You need to pre-authenticate. Try again" The OS X client tries to pre-authenticate (all this so far is over UDP) Something gets lost on our network and the KDC says, "Oops something went wrong" The OS X client switches to TCP and tries again. Over TCP, the KDC says, "You're using an encryption type I don't support" Note that in its padata records, the OS X client is always using "aes256-cts-hmac-sha1-96" as its encryption type. However, in its KDC_REQ_BODY record it lists the aes256-cts-hmac-sha1-96, aes128-cts-hmac-sha1-96, des3-cbc-sha1, and rc4-hmac encryption types. When the KDC comes back with KDC_ERR_ETYPE_NOSUPP, it uses rc4-hmac as its encryption type in its padata record. I know next to nothing about Kerberos, but it seems to me that the OS X client should go ahead and try the rc4-hmac encryption type. However, it does nothing after this. I have a WCF 4 web service that uses the global.asax routing approach and very simplified web.config using the standard endpoint method. This wcf service runs as an application with the default web site on iis 7.5 at present. I need it support both http and https interfaces, if possible. If that's too complex then only https. How is that best handled maintaining the current approach? It's our application, but we're trying to specifically replicate a customer's installation so the app folder has been copied entirely from their production server onto our test machine, and then we've created the Virtual Directory and Web Application for IIS manually.     I have a custom web service deployed into WSS 3. It has two web methods. The first one returns the version of the loaded assembly without any invocation of the SharePoint objects. The second returns some basic info about the library, something like: var spLibrary = [find library logic]; return spLibrary.Name+"@"+spLibrary.Url; In the client app I have something like the following: var service = new WebService1(); service.Url = [url]; service.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials; service.Method1(); service.Method2(); When the client app runs on the machine where SharePoint is deployed, everything works just fine. When the client app runs on the remote machine (but under the same user) the first method still works, but the second one throws System.Net.WebException: HTTP 401: Unauthorized. I have tried to set credentials manualy (service.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(login, password, domain);) but this doesnt help. I've tried to invoke the built in SharePoint web services using a similar scenario, and they work just fine: Sorry for the mistake...     I am re-hashing this question because I have looked at over 50 threads in different forums and have not been able to get a resolution to my problem. Here are the specs: Windows XP SP3, Visual Studio 2008 SP1, .NET 3.5, ASP. NET MVC 2 project, IE 7 (was IE 8) Up until a few days ago I was not having any issues. It is now happening on any solution that I try to debug. I start a debug session (F5), the solution rebuilds, a VS development web server starts and then I get this error: Unable to start program http://localhost:2012/ If I open a web browser and enter the URL the application loads up. I had upgraded to IE 8 a few weeks ago and read there may be some issues so it has been uninstalled and I am currently on IE 7. Also, while IE 8 was installed I had switched my default browser to Firefox but my current default broweser is now IE7. I have reveiewed the threads on this site and others and have not been able to fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

    I am trying to do this same thing here but with Ruby: Access Authenticated GAE Client with Python. Any ideas how to retrieve authenticated content from GAE with Ruby? I am using the Ruby GData Gem to access everything in Google Docs and such and it's making life very easy, but now I'd like to access things on GAE that require admin access, programmatically, and it doesn't support that.     I've been modifying some code to work between Mac OS X and iPhone OS. I came across some code that was using NSURL's URLByAppendingPathComponent: (added in 10.6), which as some may know, isn't available in the iPhone SDK. My solution to make this code work between OS's is to use NSString *urlString = [myURL absoluteString]; urlString = [urlString stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"helloworld"]; myURL = [NSURL urlWithString:urlString]; The problem with this is that NSString's stringByAppendingPathComponent: seems to remove one of the /'s from the http:// part of the URL. Is this intended behaviour or a bug? Edit Ok, So I was a bit too quick in asking the question above. I re-read the documentation and it does say: Note that this method only works with file paths (not, for example, string representations of URLs) However, it doesn't give any pointers in the right direction for what to do if you need to append a path component to a URL on the iPhone... I could always just do it manually, adding a /if necessary and the extra string, but I was looking to keep it as close to the original Mac OS X code as possible...

    I am having problems trying to map an HttpHandler in the web.config. This is the relevant config bit: <httpHandlers> <add verb="*" path="*.hndlr" type="MyAssembly.MyHandler, MyAssembly" validate="false" /> </httpHandlers> When I navigate to http://localhost/myApp/whatever.hndlr I am getting a server error 404 (not found). It's the 1st time I am hooking up an HttpHandler so I might be missing something - any help appreciated! UPDATE: I managed to get it working using both answers so far - who's able to exaplin why it works gets the answer marked!   • java.security.AccessControlException : access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission http.agent read)

    I have a non-signed java applet interacting with the same host. Every time I click on an element in my page, the applet (which is a third part applet I have no control on) should load data from a URL. I say should, because for some files, I get java.security.AccessControlException : access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission http.agent read) and some other files are correctly loaded. All files are correctly readable and downloadable from the web server, and they are very simple text files. I also found that, in some cases, files that previously returned the error are now loaded and continue to load, so it seems a cache is involved somehow. Does any of you have an idea of what's going on here ? The behavior seems to be absolutely random, and I have no way of performing debug on this thing. Note: I used this applet to perform many other "single shot" file access, and it never gave me any problem. The only apparent difference I have is that now I do it "on-demand" via a javascript event. What could be the cause, in the java of the applet or anywhere else ?

If add the TimeModule then the label doesn't show the message "Login Successful". Removing the ajax panel and with httpmodule available the label shows the message. So, how ajax panel was related to httpmodules?
