• How to create StackedBarSeries with custom tooltip without losing standard colors

  I have a StackedBarSeries in Silverlight 4 charting (latest release). I have created a DataPointStyle called MyDataPointStyle for a custom tooltip. By itself this breaks the standard palette used for the different bars. I've applied a custom palette - as described in David Anson's blog to the chart. However when I have the DataPointStyle set for my SeriesDefinition objects it does not use this palette. I'm not sure what I'm missing - but David specifically says : ... it enables the use of DynamicResource (currently only supported by the WPF platform) to let users customize their DataPointStyle without inadvertently losing the default/custom Palette colors. (Note: A very popular request!)   Hi, I'm trying to change the width of a JQuery dialog after it has been initialized. • Binding to a dictionary in Silverlight with INotifyPropertyChanged

  In silverlight, I can not get INotifyPropertyChanged to work like I want it to when binding to a dictionary. In the example below, the page binds to the dictionary okay but when I change the content of one of the textboxes the CustomProperties property setter is not called. The CustomProperties property setter is only called when CustomProperties is set and not when the values within it are set. I am trying to do some validation on the dictionary values and so am looking to run some code when each value within the dictionary is changed. Is there anything I can do here? I'd guess I'll have to bind the GridViewColumn-collection to something in the ViewModel, but what, and how? The ViewModel does know nothing of WPF, so I got no clue how to achieve this in MVVM. any help here?

  Hi friends, I'm a drupal newbie... I have different type of contents like News, Events, etc. and their content is different. News detail page has title-content text-date. but Events detail page has title-date-content text-location-speaker-etc. So I need different layout page for these different types. So, I enabled Drupal Themer to get a candidate name. for events page, it gave me page-node.tpl.php and it gives same for News page as well :( how can I separate these pages? I expected sth like page-event-node.tpl , but no... :/ Drupal Themer also give unique candidate name for event page like page-node-18.tpl.php but it doesnt mean anything since I can not create a general layout for all events by this node name. :( Appreciate helps so much!! • ASP.NET MVC 2 UpdateModel() is not updating values in memory or database

  Hello, I am new to MVC, and so am working through the NerdDinner tutorial, here. In particular, I'm running into problems with the use of the UpdateModel method, which is explained in the part five of that tutorial. The problem is, when I try to edit the value of a dinner object using the UpdateModel method, the values do not get updated, and no exceptions are thrown. Oddly, I am not having any trouble with the Create or Delete features that are illustrated in the tutorial. Only the update feature isn't working. Below, I have included the Controller code that I am using, as well as the view markup, which is contained in both an aspx View file and an ascx Partial View file. • printing in the same line in java.

  Hi there, I have a base class called Items and 3 derived classes, and within the Items base class i have a print function of the form public void print(){ System.out.println("ID " + id + " Title " + title + " <" + year + "> "); } and within every derived class I call the Items print function through super.print(); which is followed by a specific print function relating to the derived class. My problem is, whenever the printing is executed from one of the derived classes the printed text is not on the same line. So super.print() will be in the line above the derived class print function. How do I get them both to be on the same line?

• IE6 + IE7 CSS problem with overflow hidden

  So I have created a slider for a homepage, that slides some images with a title and teaser text using jQuery. Everything works fine, and I went to check IE and found that IE 6 and 7 kills my slider css completely. I can't figure out why, but for some reason I can't hide the non active slides with overflow: hidden; I've tried tweaking the css back and forth, but haven't been able to figure out what's causing the problem. • Why Html.DropDownListFor requires extra cast?

  In my controller I create a list of SelectListItems and store this in the ViewData. When I read the ViewData in my View it gives me an error about incorrect types. If I manually cast the types it works but seems like this should happen automatically. Can someone explain? • Filter, sort and paginate in Codeigniter

  Ive recently started using CodeIgniter as I was searching for a very lightweight framework and it seemed to come up as a top choice. I am new to the whole MVC thing, enjoying it but am stuck with something which seems very simple. I am coding a CMS and need a way to filter, sort and paginate the results. I am used to doing it with querystrings, so I would have something along the lines of: articles.php?order=title&sort=desc&filter=articletitle&page=5 I have no idea how I would go about doing this in CI so I just turned on the EnableQueryStrings in the config and it works fine, but i am getting the feeling its probably not the most elegant solution. I suppose I could have index.php/articles/index/order/title/sort/desc/filter/articletitle/page/5 but to me this seems very inflexible, what if for example i dont need to sort, how would i make sure i am looking at the correct uri segment? any ideas?
