  • How to sort a list by the 2nd tuple element in python and C#

    I had a list of tuples where every tuple consists of two integers and I wanted to sort by the 2nd integer. After looking in the python help I got this: sorted(myList, key=lambda x: x[1]) which is great. My question is, is there an equally succinct way of doing this in C# (the language I have to work in)? I know the obvious answer involving creating classes and specifying an anonymous delegate for the whole compare step but perhaps there is a linq oriented way as well. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    By default, an unstyled set of nested <ul> lists looks like this (in Chrome, Firefox, and IE at least): The top level has a list-style-type of disc, the next level is circle, and subsequent levels are square. If I include a stylesheet that changes the list-style-type to none, is there a simple way to revert back to the "automatic bullet types" later in the document? (e.g., override with a subsequent CSS definition or JavaScript style change) Basically, I'm looking for something like list-style-type: auto; (which is apparently not valid and has no effect): <style type="text/css"> ul { list-style-type: none; } ul { list-style-type: auto; } /* Does not work */ </style> Setting the list-style-type back to disc changes every bullet in the list and I no longer see different bullets at different levels, so that doesn't work either.     Hi, I am trying to implement FilePathCollection. Its items would be simple file names (without a path - such as "image.jpg"). Once the collection is used via foreach cycle, it should return the full path created by concatenating with "baseDirectory".   • Flex Problem Enabling and Disabling Button in List

    I have a list with a dataprovider, it lists out buttons encapsulated in an item renderer. All I want it to do is have a skin that it changes to when it is clicked. I can get this to happen, but then it just goes back to its up state. I want it to stick on the down state, which I have to do by disabling the button. So I tried this: buttonList.selectedItem.enabled = false; for(var i:Number = 0; i< buttonList.numChildren; i++) { var loopBtn = buttonList.getChildAt(i); if(loopBtn != buttonList.selectedItem) { loopBtn.enabled = true; } } But this doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong here?

  • generating an asp.net web application dll requirement list

    I'm trying to set up a web app (32bit on ii7/win7, 32bit setting is enabled, everything is compiled to x86, using vs2008), but there's clearly some dll module loading issue happening. I've been watching procmon and fusion logs but I'm not seeing the name of the missing dll. I'm a complete newbie to asp.net (but fairly heavy experience on other platforms). I know I can call depends.exe on a binary to see what the dependancies are, but how do I do it for asp.net? specifically, is it possible to get a list of the dlls that iis7 loads for my application?

  • Refresh list of drawables in Eclipse?

    When I add drawable resources to my project they do not show up in the list of drawables in the Reference Chooser. I checked the R file and there are references for the files. I have tried refreshing the project, cleaning the project, and fixing project properties and nothing seems to help. Sometimes a couple will randomly show up in there, but not all of them. The only consistent way I can get them to show up is to restart Eclipse. Any ideas? Thanks

  • How are design-by-contract and property-based testing (QuickCheck) related?

    Is their only similarity the fact that they are not xUnit (or more precisely, not based on enumerating specific test cases), or is it deeper than that? Property-based testing (using QuickCheck, ScalaCheck, etc) seem well-suited to a functional programming style where side-effects are avoided. On the other hand, Design by Contract (as implemented in Eiffel) is more suited to OOP languages: you can express post-conditions about the effects of methods, not just their return values. But both of them involve testing assertions that are true in general (rather than assertions that should be true for a specific test case). And both can be tested using randomly generated inputs (with QuickCheck this is the only way, whereas with Eiffel I believe it is an optional feature of the AutoTest tool). Is there an umbrella term to encompass both approaches? Or am I imagining a relationship that doesn't really exist.

  • Cannot save all of the property settings for this Web Part.

    I would like to display all the items of custom content type of Animals in a SharePoint content query WebPart. After choosing the appropriate values in the web part editor and click on Save I got this error: Cannot save all of the property settings for this Web Part. There is a problem with one or more of the field values below. But when I examine all the values below , it does not flag any error information. I finally manage to locate the error flag after I expand the presentation section. I then delete the text in the Link textbox , now I can save the settings. However , I think the error message should have been more specific so that users can quickly locate the error. The worst part for this is that I did not even change anything in the presentation section, I merely configure the Source in the Query section. Well, I guess I am still new to SharePoint, I just have to get used to these generic error message ):

    I'm curious if their is some python magic I may not know to accomplish a bit of frivolity given the line: csvData.append(','.join([line.split(":").strip() for x in L])) I'm attempting to split a line on :, trim whitespace around it, and join on , problem is, since the array is returned from line.split(":"), the for x in L #<== L doesn't exist! causes issues since I have no name for the array returned by line.split(":") So I'm curious if there is a sexy piece of syntax I could use to accomplish this in one shot?   • What is the best way to embed controls in a list/grid

    I have a table of about 450 rows that I would like to display in a graphical list for users to view or modify the line items. The users would be selection options from comboboxes and selecting check boxes etc. I have found a listview class that extends the basic listview to allow for embeding objects but it seems kind of slugish when I load all the rows into it. I have used a datagridview in the past for comboboxes and checkboxes, but there was a lot of time invested in getting that up and running...not a big fav of mine.     Hi, i'm using jQuery to show/hide different LI-elements based on their classes. Look at this example. <li id="1" class="fp de1"></li> <li id="2" class="fp de1"><button onclick="hide(2,2);"></li> <li id="3" class="fp de2"><button onclick="hide(3,3);"></li> <li id="4" class="fp de3"><button onclick="hide(4,4);"></li> <li id="5" class="fp de4"></li> <li id="6" class="fp de3"></li> <li id="7" class="fp de3"></li> <li id="8" class="fp de1"><button onclick="hide(8,2);"></li> <li id="9" class="fp de2"><button onclick="hide(9,3);"></li> <li id="10" class="fp de3"><button onclick="hide(10,4);"></li> <li id="11" class="fp de4"></li> You se that some of these have a button with a hide funcion. what i want is that when you press the hide button The following elements the have a highernumber in the .de# class should be hidden untill it reaches a LI with the same .de#-class. so if you press the hide(), i want LIs with ids 3,4,5,6,7 to be hiden. if i press the next on i want 4,5,6,7, and the thirs i want id 5 to be hidden. so this is the Javascript i made for it: function hide(id,de){ var de2 = de-1; $('#'+id).nextUntil('li.de'+de2).hide(); } The problem is that this function is not working exactly as i want. it would work correctly in the first hide()-function and the thirs but not in hide()function number two. here it will hide IDs: 4-8. so i want to do something. so i want the nextuntill() to hide elements untill it reaches a LI-element with the same .de# or a lower .de#. i hope i didn't complicate it to much in my description of the problem. if you have better idea than using nextUntill i'm all ears.

    Hello! I'm curious if anyone could possibly help me, because I can't find anything exactly related to it anywhere, and it's driving me nuts. I'd like to have a dropdown list on a page, that will give the visitor the option to sort all entries by year. I have entries from i.e. 2001, 2005, 2009, 2010. The years should be displayed in the dropdown, so the visitor can easily just select all entries dated 2001 if they want. The year for each entry is located in the one database table I have. In other words, I simply want a "sort by" dropdown that you can see on pretty much any shopping site nowadays. But with set years. Thanks in advance for any replies!
