  • django custom management command does not show up in production

    I wrote a custom management command for django. Locally with my dev settings everything works fine. Now I deployed my project onto the production server and the management command does not show up, respectively is not available. But I did not get an error message deploying the project (syncdb). Any ideas where I could try to begin to search? Is there a special command that all custom management commands are "autodiscovered"?

  • Is there a convention, when using Java RMI, to use the dollar sign $ in a variable name?

    I realize that it is a valid part of a variable name, but I've never seen variable names actually use the symbol $ before. The Java tutorial says this: Additionally, the dollar sign character, by convention, is never used at all. You may find some situations where auto-generated names will contain the dollar sign, but your variable names should always avoid using it. However, since this is geared toward Java beginners, I'm wondering if in the distributed world, the $ lives on with a special meaning.

  • Communication protocols in UDP

    After many hours, I have discovered that the given udp server needs the following steps for a successful communication: 1- Send "Start Message" on a given port 2- Wait to receive from server on any port 3- Then the port dedicated to you to send further data to the server equals the port you have received on it + 1 So I am asking if this kind is a known protocol/handshaking, or it is only special to this server??     I apologize as I don't know whether this is more of a math question that belongs on mathoverflow or if it's a computer science question that belongs here. That said, I believe I understand the fundamental difference between data, information, and knowledge. My understanding is that information carries both data and meaning. One thing that I'm not clear on is whether information is data. Is information considered a special kind of data, or is it something completely different?

    i´m having trouble getting i18n to work on heroku. i set: I18n.default_locale = :de in my environment.rb and the translation is in config/locales/de.yml works perfect on my local machines but not so on heroku. on heroku everything is in english. i don´t think i need a special gem like i18n gem, cause i don´t have it on my local machine either. maybe anyone has a solution to this?

    I have an app with a tab bar, and nav controllers in each tab. When user shakes the device, a UIImageView appears as a child view in the nav controller. But the UIImageView must contain a special image, depending on the device's current orientation.   • Preferences bundle -- iPhone vs. Simulator

The basic problem is that the default values of my preferences are getting read fine on the simulator but are coming up NULL on the iPhone. Actually ASP.NET MVC generates this syntax for its urls: /Controller/Action/Id Last week I was trying to encrypt it using SHA-1 Encryption, but this encrypter generates some special symbols like + (plus), / (slash), and other annoying chars which difficult the decryption. Perhaps creating a custom encryption should solve the problem. But I wanna here from you guys, do you have some ideas to protect mvc urls?

    In most cases, I understand that a floating point comparison test should be implemented using over a range of values (abs(x-y) < epsilon), but does self subtraction imply that the result will be zero? // can the assertion be triggered? float x = //?; assert( x-x == 0 ) My guess is that nan/inf might be special cases, but I'm more interested in what happens for simple values.

When I create a new post in it and view it, the link is something like this: "http://localhost/wordpress/product/a-product-title" This page views as expected but when I try to go to the supposed parent page: "http://localhost/wordpress/product/" I get a 404 error page. Is there a special template I need to make to view this page? Thanks
