  • Lexer written in Javascript?

    - by Phobis
    I have a project where a user needs to define a set of instructions for a ui that is completely written in javascript. I need to have the ability to parse a string of instructions and then translate them into instructions. Is there any libraries out there for parsing that are 100% javascript? Or a generator that will generate in javascript? Thanks!

  • Improve performance writing 10 million records to text file using windows service

    - by user1039583
    I'm fetching more than 10 millions of records from database and writing to a text file. It takes hours of time to complete this operation. Is there any option to use TPL features here? It would be great if someone could get me started implementing this with the TPL. using (FileStream fStream = new FileStream("d:\\file.txt", FileMode.OpenOrCreate, FileAccess.ReadWrite)) { BufferedStream bStream = new BufferedStream(fStream); TextWriter writer = new StreamWriter(bStream); for (int i = 0; i < 100000000; i++) { writer.WriteLine(i); } bStream.Flush(); writer.Flush(); // empty buffer; fStream.Flush(); }

  • using asp.net membership provider in a dll

    - by Keith Barrows
    I've used Membership Providers in web apps over the last several years. I now have a new "request" for an internal project at work. They would like a service (not a web service) to do a quick authenticate against. Basically, exposing the ValidateUser(UserName, Password) method... I am building this in a DLL that will sit with our internal web site. What is the best approach to make this work? The DLL will not reference the web app and the web app will reference the DLL. How do I make the DLL aware of the Membership Provider? TIA PS: If this has been answered elsewhere please direct me to that... EDIT: I found an article on using ASP.NET Membership with WinForms and/or WPF applications. Unfortunately, these depend on an app.config file. A DLL appears to not use the app.config once published. If I am wrong, please set me straight! The article is here: http://aspalliance.com/1595_Client_Application_Services__Part_1.all

  • Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer data output is damaged

    - by dr3w
    I use Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer to generate .xls file and it works fine until I have to deal with a large amount of data. On certain stage it just writes some nonsense chars and quits filling certain columns. However some columns are field up to the end (generally numeric data) I'm not quite sure how the xls document is formed: row by row, or col by col... Also it is obviously not an error in a string, because when i cut out some data, the error appears a little bit further. I think there is no need in all of my code here are some essentials $filename = 'file.xls'; $workbook = & new Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer(); $workbook->setVersion(8); $contents =& $workbook->addWorksheet('Logistics'); $contents->setInputEncoding('UTF-8'); $workbook->send($filename); //here is the part where I write data down $contents->write(0, 0, 'Field A'); $contents->write(0, 1, 'Field B'); $contents->write(0, 2, 'Field C'); $ROW=1; foreach($ordersArr as $key=>$val){ $contents->write($ROW, 0, $val['a']); $contents->write($ROW, 1, $val['b']); $contents->write($ROW, 2, $val['c']); $ROW++; } $workbook->close();

  • What's the "proper" way to retrieve a reference to a ribbon object?

    - by Nick
    For a VSTO workbook project, is there a best practice for retrieving a reference to the Ribbon object from the ThisWorkbook class? Here's what I'm doing: In my Ribbon class, I created a public method called InvalidateControl(string controlID). I need to call that method from the ThisWorkbook class based on when a certain workbook level event fires. But the only way I can see to "get" a reference to that Ribbon object is to do this... // This is all in the ThisWorkbook class Ribbon ribbon; protected override IRibbonExtensibility CreateRibbonExtensibilityObject() { this.ribbon = new Ribbon(); return this.ribbon; } ...which seems a little smelly. I mean, I have to override CreateRibbonExtensibilityObject() regardless; all I'm doing beyond that is maintaining a local reference to the ribbon so I can call methods against it. But it doesn't feel right. Is there another, better way to get that reference in the ThisWorkbook class? Or is this pretty acceptable? Thanks!

  • How should open source libraries be used on Windows?

    - by Jason Owen
    There are many open-source libraries that can be compiled with Visual Studio. I'm porting a program from Linux to Windows, but it depends on a number of libraries. I don't know what the best practices regarding libraries are on Windows. On Linux, these libraries are typically part of the distribution. To use sqlite on Debian, for example, you need only to install libsqlite3-dev and the include files and libraries (both static and dynamic) are automatically installed and available to your program. If you need a different version than your distribution supplies, you can compile it in your home directory, install it to ~/include and ~/lib, and set the appropriate environment variables so that your compiler includes those directories in its search path. What is the best way to use libraries that are distributed as source on Windows? If I link dynamically rather than statically, is there an easy way to copy required DLLs into the output directory to ease redistribution (assuming license requirements are met)?

  • Starting Off VBA Macro With C# - Password Grief

    - by ChloeRadshaw
    I am stuck - I have a macro in a workbook which I can call quite easily using the run method on MSDN The problem is that if the workbook has a password protecting the code then this becomes much more difficult and forces a dialog box to appear.. Does anyone know how to run a macro from C# which has a password on it??

  • How can I merge two Linq IEnumerable<T> queries without running them?

    - by makerofthings7
    How do I merge a List<T> of TPL-based tasks for later execution? public async IEnumerable<Task<string>> CreateTasks(){ /* stuff*/ } My assumption is .Concat() but that doesn't seem to work: void MainTestApp() // Full sample available upon request. { List<string> nothingList = new List<string>(); nothingList.Add("whatever"); cts = new CancellationTokenSource(); delayedExecution = from str in nothingList select AccessTheWebAsync("", cts.Token); delayedExecution2 = from str in nothingList select AccessTheWebAsync("1", cts.Token); delayedExecution = delayedExecution.Concat(delayedExecution2); } /// SNIP async Task AccessTheWebAsync(string nothing, CancellationToken ct) { // return a Task } I want to make sure that this won't spawn any task or evaluate anything. In fact, I suppose I'm asking "what logically executes an IQueryable to something that returns data"? Background Since I'm doing recursion and I don't want to execute this until the correct time, what is the correct way to merge the results if called multiple times? If it matters I'm thinking of running this command to launch all the tasks var AllRunningDataTasks = results.ToList(); followed by this code: while (AllRunningDataTasks.Count > 0) { // Identify the first task that completes. Task<TableResult> firstFinishedTask = await Task.WhenAny(AllRunningDataTasks); // ***Remove the selected task from the list so that you don't // process it more than once. AllRunningDataTasks.Remove(firstFinishedTask); // TODO: Await the completed task. var taskOfTableResult = await firstFinishedTask; // Todo: (doen't work) TrustState thisState = (TrustState)firstFinishedTask.AsyncState; // TODO: Update the concurrent dictionary with data // thisState.QueryStartPoint + thisState.ThingToSearchFor Interlocked.Decrement(ref thisState.RunningDirectQueries); Interlocked.Increment(ref thisState.CompletedDirectQueries); if (thisState.RunningDirectQueries == 0) { thisState.TimeCompleted = DateTime.UtcNow; } }

  • What can you do in C without "std" includes? Are they part of "C," or just libraries?

    - by Chris Cooper
    I apologize if this is a subjective or repeated question. It's sort of awkward to search for, so I wasn't sure what terms to include. What I'd like to know is what the basic foundation tools/functions are in C when you don't include standard libraries like stdio and stdlib. What could I do if there's no printf(), fopen(), etc? Also, are those libraries technically part of the "C" language, or are they just very useful and effectively essential libraries?

  • Have to put files in static_dir but need to read them afterwards

    - by SanjamX
    I just started using google app engine. In order to use templates, I'm using jinja2. I want to add images dynamically after I set the width and height of the img tag. I used PIL in order to read the image size and put the one I want. However when I open the image with PIL, I need it not to be in a static_dir and to put the image in the img tag, I need it to be in the static_dir. As a testing solution I've copied the folder to see if I get results and I did. But as you can see having each image saved twice is kind of bad.

  • Does std::multiset guarantee insertion order?

    - by Naveen
    I have a std::multiset which stores elements of class A. I have provided my own implementation of operator< for this class. My question is if I insert two equivalent objects into this multiset is their order guaranteed? For example, first I insert a object a1 into the set and then I insert an equivalent object a2 into this set. Can I expect the a1 to come before a2 when I iterate through the set? If no, is there any way to achieve this using multiset?

  • Named Range Breaks Code

    - by Daniel
    I have one workbook with several sheets. I populate the listboxes (pulling static data from cells) on the 2nd sheet, click a button and it runs fine. When I populate the listboxes with a named range, the listbox populates the way I want, but I get an error because the code thinks that I didn't select anything in the listbox, even though I did. So it passes through "" instead of "title". Is this a common issue? The named range isn't a problem because it passes through the data to the listbox and I know it's selecting data because as soon as the listbox loses focus, it spits out the contents of the cell into cell A1. What's even stranger is that I have the contents of the listbox set to Msg1. So A1 gets populated with Msg1 (what I actually selected in the listbox). But when I try and use Msg1 in the code, it tells me that Msg1 is "". Again, this only happens when I use the dynamic named range, not with static data in cells K1:K9. Private Function strEndSQL1 As String Dim strSQL As String strSQL = "" 'Create SQL statement strSQL = "FROM (SELECT * FROM dbo.Filter WHERE ID = " & TextBox1.Text & " And Source IN (" & Msg1 & ")) a FULL OUTER JOIN " strSQL = strSQL & "(SELECT * FROM dbo.Filters WHERE ID = " & TextBox2.Text & " And Source IN (" & Msg1 & ")) b " strSQL = strSQL & "ON a.Group = b.Group strEndSQL = strSQL End Function

  • VBA Range.Rows.Count giving unexpected results

    - by Jeffrey
    I have a Range variable that contains an address - $2:$2,$4:$205,$214:$214 - (3 groups of rows). I would like to get the count of all the rows in that range. However, range.Count gives me the count of all the cells (50,000~) and range.Rows.Count only return 1 - the count of all the rows in the first group. How do I get the count of all the rows Thanks

  • Defining multiple VBA objects within one function or sub-routine?

    - by Harokitty
    I have the following VBA code: Option Explicit Private a(2) as Double Private b(2) as Double Public Function Hello(X1 As Double, X2 As Double) As Double a(1) = X1 + X2 a(2) = X1/X2 b(1) = X1 b(2) = X2^2 Hello = a(1)+a(2)+b(1)+b(2) End Function Within the function Hello I have defined a(1),a(2),b(1),b(2). However, I want to make some function or sub-routine that accepts X1 and X2 as arguments and spits out the values for a(1),a(2),b(1),b(2). This is because I use the above definitions for a(1),a(2),b(1),b(2) in about 20 functions in my module and would like to avoid having to do the following in each function that I use thesis in: a(1) = X1 + X2 a(2) = X1/X2 b(1) = X1 b(2) = X2^2
