• Get part of a string of part of regular expression?

  Im trying to make a script that will go into a directory and run my own application with each file matching a regular expression, specifically "Test[0-9]*.txt". My input filenames look like this "TestXX.txt". Now, I could just use cut and chop off the Test and .txt, but how would I do this if XX wasn't predefined to be 2 numbers? What would I do if i had "Test1.txt" ... "Test10.txt"? In other words, How would I get the [0-9]* part? Just so you know, I want to be able to make a OutputXX.txt :)

• Stored procedure for selecting multiple records

  I need to select records say 2000 from a table with a matching timestamp from c# .net code. Eg: SELECT * FROM ITEMDATA_TABLE WHERE ITEMNAME='Item1' and TimeStamp='2010-04-26 17:15:05.667' The above query has to execute for 2000 items more for the same timestamp. for this we can use SELECT * FROM ITEMDATA_TABLE WHERE ITEMNAME in ('Item1','Item2','Item3','Item4',......) AND TimeStamp='2010-04-26 17:15:05.667' from SQL Server Management Studio. I have tried appending all Item names to one string variable and giving it as a parameter to the stored procedure,but it resulted into a wrong concatenation. How can I do this as a stored procedure executing from the .net code? Can anyone suggest me/correct me in doing this? Thanks & Regards Padma

  For this word ????????????? the Unicode is== \u0938\u0941\u0916\u091A\u0948\u0928\u093E\u0928\u0940 \u0930\u0940\u091D\u0941\u092E\u0932 \u091C\u093F\u0935\u0924\u0930\u093E\u092E and look it has spaces before \u0930 and \u091C But when I am trying in my code String tempString=Strings.toEscapedUnicode(strString); This method to convert to Unicode gives a result without spaces: \u0938\u0941\u0916\u091A\u0948\u0928\u093E\u0928\u0940\u0930\u0940\u091D\u0941\u092E\u0932\u091C\u093F\u0935\u0924\u0930\u093E\u092E and that's why they are not matching. My 'toEscapeUnicode' method generates Unicode without spaces. I want the spaces, so how to do it?

  I need to compare list_a against many others. my problem starts when there's a duplicated item in the other lists (two k's in other_b). my goal is to filter out all the lists with the same items (up to three matching items). list_a = ['j','k','a','7'] other_b = ['k', 'j', 'k', 'q'] other_c = ['k','k','9','k'] >>>filter(lambda x: not x in list_a,other_b) ['q'] I need a way that would return ['k', 'q'], because 'k' appears only once in list_a. comparing list_a and other_c with set() isn't good for my purpose since it will return only one element: k. while I need ['k','9','k'] I hope I was clear enough. • How to manipulate this string of text to make it readable?

  I have this string in an excel file: 4603,2504603#;4616,2504616#;4617,2504617#;4519,2504519#;4620,2504620 (It's actually a lot longer than that, but the pattern is the same). I need to be able to some how sort this into something that can be read easier. I want the end result to look like this: 4603,2504603 4616,2504616 4617,2504617 I guess I need a program or command that can replace #; with a line break. I need something that will work in Windows 7. I remember doing something similar to this in a Linux class using shell scripting but I can't remember how it was done. Note: This is NOT homework. It is something my boss has asked me to do at work.

• Are there design-time watch windows for Visual Studio 2008/2010?

  There are many times when I need to test a little snippet of .net code but rebuilding and publishing the entire project or writing a suite of unit tests just seems like overkill. For example, I am writing a regular expression right now and I want to see if it the pattern is matching on the right parts. I could go and find a million other utilities that do that sort of thing, but that is not exactly my point. FireBug has an exact analogue to what I want - the FireBug console. There is a text box where the user can enter some JavaScript and FireBug will execute it on the spot and display the return value. I would love to be able to enter something like (new Regex("b+")).Replace("abc", "x") and see the results without having to do all the overhead. Does VS have anything like this?

• How can I exclude a file in a folder from basic auth (regex help)?

  Hi I have a folder on my site which contains admin files and I've added basic auth following a little unwanted attention. This works fine however a couple of the admin functions won't work through basic auth as they handle file uploads and so I want to exclude these files from the auth. It shouldn't have any security implications as any rogue user wouldn't be able to access the pages that could create a session to use these functions. I am using the following basic code to exclude a file: <FilesMatch "(index.php\/myadminfolder\/myurl\/myaction/someotherstuff?)$"> Satisfy Any Order allow,deny Allow from all Deny from none </FilesMatch> The URL exclusion is not working. The URL to exclude is in the form: index.php/directory/subdirectory/action/uniqueid/blah What is the correct URL string to add to FilesMatch to exclude any files that start with the pattern of index.php/directory/subdirectory/action - regardless of what comes after action?   Recently switched to a new ISP after a move, running Chrome under OSX 10.7. I see the following error when visiting various sites -- no particular pattern -- from time to time. This is the entire message. It is the only thing that appears in my web browser. The problem fixes itself in a few minutes. Probably a lookup error of some sort, but I don't recognize it. • What's the fastest way to search a very long list of words for a match in actionscript 3?

  So I have a list of words (the entire English dictionary). For a word matching game, when a player moves a piece I need to check the entire dictionary to see if the the word that the player made exists in the dictionary. I need to do this as quickly as possible. simply iterating through the dictionary is way too slow. What is the quickest algorithm in AS3 to search a long list like this for a match, and what datatype should I use? (ie array, object, Dictionary etc)

  The address bar background color in Google Chrome is black. I cannot see what I'm typing. What's going on? This is a problem when you're typing in a URL you've never used before (so there's no matching history). Type in a URL you've never used before. Imagine someone is giving it to you over the phone. Make a typo somewhere. Use the back arrow to go back and correct it. You cannot see where the cursor is. This just started happening yesterday. I'm on WinXP Pro.

• Android Loading & Playing Sound Based on String

  I'm currently working on a simple Android app, and right now I am trying to get it to load in and play sounds. The problem I am faced with is that I want the sound it uses to be based on a string (With the same name as the sound file). The reason for this is simplicity in both the code and adding on to it. Now unfortunately I can't just slap a string in place of referencing the actual sound, but is there some way for me to compare a string to the entire raw folder to find the matching sound, or some other alternative short of defining every sound manually?   I'm new to Python (like Zygote new), and it's just to supplement another program but what I need is I have a text file that's a group of items for a game and it is formatted so: [1] Name=Blah Faction=Blahdiddly Cost=1000 [2] Name=Meh Faction=MehMeh Cost=2000 [3] Name=Lollypop Faction=Blahdiddly Cost=100 And I need to be able to find out what groups (the numbers in brackets) have matching values. So if I search Faction=Blahdiddly Group 1 & 3 will come up. I unfortunately have NO idea how to do this. Can anyone help?

  I am using a custom route handler for a webforms application. I am using routes to determine localization. ie: if the url has es or fr in the route it will load either spanish or french resources. for example: www.someroute/es/checkstuff/checkstuff.aspx will load: www.someroute/checkstuff/checkstuff.aspx with the spanish resources. I am configuring the custom routes in global.asax via: protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { foreach (var value in _customRoutes) { routes.Add(value.RouteName, new Route(value.Route, new CustomRouteHandler(value.ResolvedRoute))); } } where _customroutes is a list of routes. Is there a way to do this with some kind of pattern matching so I can avoid adding a specific route for each page in the application. While I know I could use a t4 template to generate the routes, I guess I am looking for a dynamic way to create the list

• PHP/Oracle Connectivity randomly "drops out"

  Hi! Here's the current situation - I have two web servers (for now named A and B) and two database servers (named C and D). The web servers are quite old, and are running an early version of Apache 2 + PHP4, while the DB servers are running Oracle 9i and 10g respectively. We're experiencing a strange problem connecting (via PHP code) to database A while on web server B only. Web server A has no issues at all... Randomly, web server B will report a "Not connected to Oracle" error (3114). I can't see a real pattern with this, but refreshing a few times seems to fix the issue. Apparently there are no drop-outs on the network interface, which leads me to believe that there's some misconfiguration between PHP/Apache and Oracle (which uses connection pooling). We're running SunOS 5.8... Any ideas?

  In a login system, how can you tell if the user has entered the password incorrectly? Do you perform two SQL queries, one to find the username, and then one to find the username and matching (salted+hashed etc) password? I'm asking this because If the user entered the password incorrectly, I want to update the failed_login_attempts column I have. If you perform two queries wouldn't that increase overhead? If you did a query like this, how would you tell if the password entered was correct or not, or whether the username doesn't exist: SELECT * FROM author WHERE username = '$username' AND password = '$password' LIMIT 1 ( ^ NB: I'm keeping it simple, will use hash and salt, and will sanitize input in real one.) • Third monitor randomly defaults to 640 x 480 on startup

  I purchased a PowerColor HD 5770 video card so I could get a third monitor working. I have two widescreen monitors, one attached via HDMI and the other attached via DVI. My third monitor is attached from DisplayPort to VGA (using a passive connector like this one) The third monitor is a 19" Hyundai L90D. I was unable to find any Windows 7 (or Vista for that matter) drivers for the monitor, so it's stuck with "Generic Non-PNP Monitor". It's native resolution is 1280 x 1024. Randomly Windows will boot up in the correct native res, but sometimes it boots up in 640 x 480 res. When it does boot up into 640 x 480 res, the screen resolution slider is stuck and I cannot slide it back to 1280 x 1024. I cannot find a pattern for when or why it will do this, I've tried rebooting five or six times in a row at times to get it to boot into native res, but this doesn't always work.

  I want my jobs to execute in every X seconds, there's one to one matching between job and X. Also during runtime there can be registered new jobs with their own intervals. I've tried to write cron expression for such scenarios, but in documentation there's written that value of seconds can't be more than 69. So cron expression like this: "0/63 * * * * ?" isn't valid. At first sight solution of that problem seemed to be expression like this: "0/3 0/1 * * * ?", but it means completely different thing: trigger job in every three second of every minute. Can you suggest what is the right solution (cron expression) for that? I know I could use just simple timers, but I've to use cron jobs using Quartz.

I want to be able to apply all the params from the route to another function. • C#, Using Custom Generic Collection faster with objects than List

  Hello, I'm using for now List< to iterate through some object collection and find matching element, The problem is that object has only 2 significant values Name and Link (strings) but has some other values wich I dont want to compare. I'm thinkig about using something like HashSet (wich is exactly what I'm searching for - fast) from .NET 3.5 but target framework has to be 2.0. There is something called Power Collections here: http://powercollections.codeplex.com/ But maybe there is other way? If not, can you suggest me a suitable custom collection?

• Drupal Views: Render Null Result for Relationship as 0

  I have a View configured in Drupal to return nodes, sorting them by their average vote in descending order. For the purpose of the View, the value of the average votes is a Relationship. I noticed that nodes with no votes are displayed after nodes with a negative average. Nodes with no votes should have an average of 0, but I believe the MySQL JOIN is causing NULL values to be returned (as there are no matching rows in the joined table, since a row is created after the first vote is cast for that item). I discovered that with MySQL it is possible to output all values that are NULL in a column as another value with IFNULL(column_name,'other value'). I feel like I would need to modify the Views module in order to obtain this functionality, but I'm hoping that there is some sort of option that returns NULL values in a relation (a relation doesn't exist for the item) as 0 instead of NULL, so that I can properly sort the nodes. The modules I am using include Views, Voting API, Vote Up/Down, and CTools. Thanks.
