  • setting jQuery .data() within .getJSON callback

    - by hackmaster.a
    I'm doing a couple of .getJSON calls and if any one of them succeeds, I'm trying to set a bool to true so I can then do some other stuff elsewhere on the page. I was trying to use jquery's .data() function, but I don't seem able to set it from inside the .getJSON callback. for example: $('#citations_button').data('citations', false); $.getJSON(apaurl, function(data) { $('#apacite').html("<td class=\"bibInfoLabel\">APA Citation</td><td class=\"bibInfoData\">"+data+"</td>"); $('#citations_button').data('citations', true); }, "html"); // other .getJSONs look like above... console.log("citations? "+$('#citations_button').data('citations')); prints false, even when I know the data came through. I thought this would work since .data() uses the cache to store the key/value pair. how can i flag successes?? appreciate any assistance!!

  • c# Properties.Settings.Default Doesn't work as expected

    - by Jack
    I've been working on a program to automate my backup checks with LogMeIn backup (a windows forms based program). I now need a way to store user settings, to save information easily. I've never worked with the Application/User settings that is somewhat "built-in" - and decided to try it, but ran into problems. I added four settings for now: IncludeCriteria (Specialized.StringCollection) ExcludeCriteria (Specialized.StringCollection) ReportPath (string) ReportType (int) But the behavior doesn't act as expected (go figure). After saving some values in my program, I go back into edit/view my settings values using the VS 2008 settings editor. None of my values are stored. While I think this may be because those values are just default values, wouldn't that be where they can be stored/read/changed? Here is my load form code (still very unrefined): private void setupForm() { txtPath.Text = BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ReportPath == null ? "" : BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ReportPath; if (BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ReportType == 0) { radioHTML.Checked = true; } else radioExcel.Checked = true; if (BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.IncludeCriteria.Count > 0) { listIncludeCriteria.DataSource = Properties.Settings.Default.IncludeCriteria; //foreach (string s in Properties.Settings.Default.IncludeCriteria) // listIncludeCriteria.Items.Add(s); } if (BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ExcludeCriteria.Count > 0) { listExcludeCriteria.DataSource = BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ExcludeCriteria; //foreach (string s in Properties.Settings.Default.ExcludeCriteria) // listExcludeCriteria.Items.Add(s); } } listIncludeCriteria is just a listbox. When the user saves I call this method: private void saveSettings() { //var settings = BackupReport.Properties.Settings; if (txtPath.Text != "") { BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ReportPath = txtPath.Text; } if (listIncludeCriteria.Items.Count > 0) { //BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.IncludeCriteria = (StringCollection)listIncludeCriteria.Items.AsQueryable(); foreach (var i in listIncludeCriteria.Items) { if (!isIncludeDuplicate(i.ToString())) BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.IncludeCriteria.Add(i.ToString()); } } if (listExcludeCriteria.Items.Count > 0) { //BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ExcludeCriteria = (StringCollection)listExcludeCriteria.Items.AsQueryable(); foreach (var i in listExcludeCriteria.Items) { if (!isExcludeDuplicate(i.ToString())) Properties.Settings.Default.ExcludeCriteria.Add(i.ToString()); } } if (radioExcel.Checked == true) BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ReportType = 1; else BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.ReportType = 0; BackupReport.Properties.Settings.Default.Save(); //Properties.Settings.Default.Save(); this.DialogResult = DialogResult.OK; this.Close(); } The wierd thing is when the form loads, the path I put in the first time seems to come up (ReportPath) - even the listBoxes are populated with a bunch of crap I put in - yet I cant find these values anywhere. Any help would be appreciated! Josh

  • Unable to get the Current User's Token information

    - by Ram
    Hi, I have been trying to get the currently logged-in user's token information using the following code : [DllImport("wtsapi32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] static extern bool WTSQueryUserToken(int sessionId, out IntPtr tokenHandle); [DllImport("kernel32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] static extern uint WTSGetActiveConsoleSessionId(); static void Main(string[] args) { try { int sessionID = (int)WTSGetActiveConsoleSessionId(); if (sessionID != -1) { System.IntPtr currentToken = IntPtr.Zero; bool bRet = WTSQueryUserToken(sessionID, out currentToken); Console.WriteLine("bRet : " + bRet.ToString()); } } catch (Exception) { } } The problem is that, bRet is always false and currentToken is always 0. I am getting the sessionid as 1. Could someone tell me what's going wrong here? I want to use this token information to pass it to the CreateProcessAsUser function from a windows service. Thanks, Ram

  • Equality between two enumerables

    - by Berryl
    I have two enumerables with the exact same reference elements, and wondering why Equals wouldn't be true. As a side question, the code below to compare each element works, but there must be a more elegant way Cheers, Berryl var other = (ActivityService) obj; if (!AllAccounts.Count().Equals(other.AllAccounts.Count())) return false; for (int i = 0; i < AllAccounts.Count(); i++) { if (!AllAccounts.ElementAt(i).Equals(other.AllAccounts.ElementAt(i))) { return false; } } return true;

  • Printing Stdout In Command Line App Without Overwriting Pending User Input

    - by Chris S
    In a basic Unix-shell app, how would you print to stdout without disturbing any pending user input. e.g. Below is a simple Python app that echos user input. A thread running in the background prints a counter every 1 second. import threading, time class MyThread( threading.Thread ): running = False def run(self): self.running = True i = 0 while self.running: i += 1 time.sleep(1) print i t = MyThread() t.daemon = True t.start() try: while 1: inp = raw_input('command> ') print inp finally: t.running = False Note how the thread mangles the displayed user input as they type it (e.g. hell1o wo2rld3). How would you work around that, so that the shell writes a new line while preserving the line the user's currently typing on?

  • Co-Authors Wordpress Plugin: coauthors_wp_list_authors function not working correctly

    - by rayne
    The Co-Authors Plus Plugin for Wordpress has a very annoying bug. The custom function coauthors_wp_list_authors lists authors the same way the wordpress function wp_list_authors does, but it does not include authors in the list who don't have a post of their own - if they have only entries in which they are listed as co-author but not as author, they will not be included in the list. That is of course missing a very important point. I've looked at the faulty SQL statement, but unfortunately my knowledge of advanced SQL, especially when it comes to JOINs, as well as my knowledge of the wp database structure is too limited and I remain clueless. There is a topic in the WP support forum, but unfortunately the information there is very outdated and the fix is not applicable anymore. I couldn't find any other, more current solutions on the internet. I'd be glad if somewhere here could help fix the SQL statement so it also lists co-authors who don't have posts where they're the sole author, as well as display the correct post count for all authors. Here's the entire function for reference purposes with a comment marking the SQL statement: function coauthors_wp_list_authors($args = '') { global $wpdb, $coauthors_plus; $defaults = array( 'optioncount' => false, 'exclude_admin' => true, 'show_fullname' => false, 'hide_empty' => true, 'feed' => '', 'feed_image' => '', 'feed_type' => '', 'echo' => true, 'style' => 'list', 'html' => true ); $r = wp_parse_args( $args, $defaults ); extract($r, EXTR_SKIP); $return = ''; $authors = $wpdb->get_results("SELECT ID, user_nicename from $wpdb->users " . ($exclude_admin ? "WHERE user_login <> 'admin' " : '') . "ORDER BY display_name"); $author_count = array(); # this is the SQL statement which doesn't work correctly: $query = "SELECT DISTINCT $wpdb->users.ID AS post_author, $wpdb->terms.name AS user_name, $wpdb->term_taxonomy.count AS count"; $query .= " FROM $wpdb->posts"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->term_relationships ON ($wpdb->posts.ID = $wpdb->term_relationships.object_id)"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->term_taxonomy ON ($wpdb->term_relationships.term_taxonomy_id = $wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_taxonomy_id)"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->terms ON ($wpdb->term_taxonomy.term_id = $wpdb->terms.term_id)"; $query .= " INNER JOIN $wpdb->users ON ($wpdb->terms.name = $wpdb->users.user_login)"; $query .= " WHERE post_type = 'post' AND " . get_private_posts_cap_sql( 'post' ); $query .= " AND $wpdb->term_taxonomy.taxonomy = '$coauthors_plus->coauthor_taxonomy'"; $query .= " GROUP BY post_author"; foreach ((array) $wpdb->get_results($query) as $row) { $author_count[$row->post_author] = $row->count; } foreach ( (array) $authors as $author ) { $link = ''; $author = get_userdata( $author->ID ); $posts = (isset($author_count[$author->ID])) ? $author_count[$author->ID] : 0; $name = $author->display_name; if ( $show_fullname && ($author->first_name != '' && $author->last_name != '') ) $name = "$author->first_name $author->last_name"; if( !$html ) { if ( $posts == 0 ) { if ( ! $hide_empty ) $return .= $name .   • Script stops while waiting for user input from STDIN.gets

    - by bob c
    I'm trying to do something like this, where I have two loops going in seperate threads. The problem I am having is that in the main thread, when I use gets and the script is waiting for user input, the other thread is stopped to wait as well. class Server def initialize() @server = TCPServer.new(8080) run end def run() @thread = Thread.new(@server) { |server| while true newsock = server.accept puts "some stuff after accept!" next if !newsock # some other stuff end } end end def processCommand() # some user commands here end test = Server.new while true do processCommand(STDIN.gets) end The above is just a sample of what I want to do. Is there a way to make the main thread block while waiting for user input?

  • WCF using Spring.NET woes

  • About "If.." in Scheme (plt-scheme)

    - by Amit
    I had a pretty simple requirement in my Scheme program to execute more than one statement, in the true condition of a 'if'. . So I write my code, something like this: (if (= 1 1) ((expression1) (expression2)) ; these 2 expressions are to be executed when the condition is true (expression3) ) Obviously, the above doesn't work, since I have unintentionally created a # procedure with # arguments. So, to get my work done, I simply put the above expressions in a new function and call it from there, in place of the expression1, expression2. It works. So, my point here is: is there any other conditional construct which may support my requirement here?

  • Does jQuery ajaxSetup method not work with $.get or $.post?

    - by Justin Poliey
    Does the jQuery $.ajaxSetup method not respect the data field in the options hash when $.post or $.get is called? For example, I might have this code: $.ajaxSetup({ data: { persist: true } }); Then, to send a POST request, I would call this: $.post("/create/something", { name: "foo" }); I was expecting the actual POST data to look like this: { persist: true, name: "foo" } but the only data sent by $.post is { name: "foo" }. Is there any way to get the expected behavior? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1.

  • Forms Authentication logs out very quickly , locally works fine !!!

    - by user319075
    Hello to all, There's a problem that i am facing with my hosting company, I use a project that uses FormsAuthentication and the problem is that though it successfully logs in, it logs out VERY QUICKLY, and i don't know what could be the cause of that, so in my web.config file i added those lines: <authentication mode="Forms" > <forms name="Nadim" loginUrl="Login.aspx" defaultUrl="Default.aspx" protection="All" path="/" requireSSL="false"/> </authentication> <authorization> <deny users ="?" /> </authorization> <sessionState mode="StateServer" stateConnectionString="tcpip=localhost:42424" cookieless="false" timeout="1440"> </sessionState> and this is the code i use in my custom login page : protected void PasswordCustomValidator_ServerValidate(object source, ServerValidateEventArgs args) { try { UsersSqlDataSource.SelectParameters.Clear(); UsersSqlDataSource.SelectCommand = "Select * From Admins Where AdminID='" + IDTextBox.Text + "' and Password='" + PassTextBox.Text + "'"; UsersSqlDataSource.SelectCommandType = SqlDataSourceCommandType.Text; UsersSqlDataSource.DataSourceMode = SqlDataSourceMode.DataReader; reader = (SqlDataReader)UsersSqlDataSource.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments.Empty); if (reader.HasRows) { reader.Read(); if (RememberCheckBox.Checked == true) Page.Response.Cookies["Admin"].Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(5); args.IsValid = true; string userData = "ApplicationSpecific data for this user."; FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket1 = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, IDTextBox.Text, System.DateTime.Now, System.DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(30), true, userData, FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath); string encTicket = FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(ticket1); Response.Cookies.Add(new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, encTicket)); Response.Redirect(FormsAuthentication.GetRedirectUrl(IDTextBox.Text, RememberCheckBox.Checked)); //FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(IDTextBox.Text, RememberCheckBox.Checked); } else args.IsValid = false; } catch (SqlException ex) { ErrorLabel.Text = ex.Message; } catch (InvalidOperationException) { args.IsValid = false; } catch (Exception ex) { ErrorLabel.Text = ex.Message; } Also you will find that line of code: FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(IDTextBox.Text, RememberCheckBox.Checked); is commented because i thought there might be something wrong with the ticket when i log in , so i created it manually , every thing i know i tried but nothing worked, so does anyone have any idea what is the problem ? Thanks in advance, Baher.

  • Creating a Compilation Unit with type bindings

    - by hizki
    I am working with the AST API in java, and I am trying to create a Compilation Unit with type bindings. I wrote the following code: private static CompilationUnit parse(ICompilationUnit unit) { ASTParser parser = ASTParser.newParser(AST.JLS3); parser.setKind(ASTParser.K_COMPILATION_UNIT); parser.setSource(unit); parser.setResolveBindings(true); CompilationUnit compiUnit = (CompilationUnit) parser.createAST(null); return compiUnit; } Unfortunately, when I run this code in debug mode and inspect compiUnit I find that compiUnit.resolver.isRecoveringBindings is false. Can anyone think of a reason why it wouldn't be true, as I specified it to be? Thank you

  • Asp.net RenderControl method not rendering autopostback for dropdownlist

    - by Tanya
    Hi all, i am bit confused as to why asp.net does not render a dropdownlist with the autopostback property set to true when using the RenderControl method. eg Dim sw As New IO.StringWriter Dim tw As New HtmlTextWriter(sw) Dim table As New Table table.Rows.Add(New TableRow) Dim tr As TableRow = table.Rows(0) tr.Cells.Add(New TableCell) Dim tc As TableCell = tr.Cells(0) Dim ddlMyValues As New DropDownList ddlMyValues.ID = "ddl1" ddlMyValues.Items.Add("Test1") ddlMyValues.Items.Add("Test2") ddlMyValues.Items.Add("Test3") ddlMyValues.AutoPostBack = True tc.Controls.Add(ddlMyValues) table.RenderControl(tw) Debug.WriteLine(sw.ToString) my output renders the dropdown list without the onchange="javascript:setTimeout('__doPostBack(\ddl1\',\'\')', 0)" that is generated by asp.net when using the dropdownlist normally. Is there a work around to this?

  • Errorprovider shows error on using windows close button(X)

    - by Pankaj Kumar
    Hi guys, Is there any way to turn the damned error provider off when i try to close the form using the windows close button(X). It fires the validation and the user has to fill all the fields before he can close the form..this will be a usability issue because many tend to close the form using the (X) button. i have placed a button for cancel with causes validation to false and it also fires a validation. i found someone saying that if you use Form.Close() function validations are run... how can i get past this annoying feature. i have a MDI sturucture and show the form using CreateExam.MdiParent = Me CreateExam.Show() on the mdi parent's menuitem click and have this as set validation Private Sub TextBox1_Validating(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles TextBox1.Validating If String.IsNullOrEmpty(TextBox1.Text) Then Err.SetError(TextBox1, "required") e.Cancel = True End If If TextBox1.Text.Contains("'") Then Err.SetError(TextBox1, "Invalid Char") e.Cancel = True End If End Sub Any help is much appreciated. googling only showed results where users were having problem using a command button as close button and that too is causing problem in my case

  • Python-daemon doesn't kill its kids

    - by Brian M. Hunt
    When using python-daemon, I'm creating subprocesses likeso: import multiprocessing class Worker(multiprocessing.Process): def __init__(self, queue): self.queue = queue # we wait for things from this in Worker.run() ... q = multiprocessing.Queue() with daemon.DaemonContext(): for i in xrange(3): Worker(q) while True: # let the Workers do their thing q.put(_something_we_wait_for()) When I kill the parent daemonic process (i.e. not a Worker) with a Ctrl-C or SIGTERM, etc., the children don't die. How does one kill the kids? My first thought is to use atexit to kill all the workers, likeso: with daemon.DaemonContext(): workers = list() for i in xrange(3): workers.append(Worker(q)) @atexit.register def kill_the_children(): for w in workers: w.terminate() while True: # let the Workers do their thing q.put(_something_we_wait_for()) However, the children of daemons are tricky things to handle, and I'd be obliged for thoughts and input on how this ought to be done. Thank you.

  • DataTrigger only works on first TabItem in TabControl

    Hi! It seems like a bug in WPF, but maybe someone has an answers to this. I have a DataTrigger for an editable ComboBox. It works on the first TabItem of my TabControl, but not on the second. • BAD_UID error while exporting key in CryptoAPI

    - by mindthief
    Hi all, I am writing a test application for Microsoft CryptoAPI. I want to export the secret key of one party using the public key of the second party, and then import that secret key as the second party's secret key (this sets up a shared secret key for communication). Here is my code: if(!CryptExportKey(encryptT->hSymKey, decryptT->hPubKey, SIMPLEBLOB, 0, keyExBuf, &bufLen)) { FormattedDebugPrint(NULL, GetLastError(), "could not export secret key", TRUE); return -1; } if(!CryptImportKey(decryptT->hCryptProv, keyExBuf, bufLen, decryptT->hPubKey, 0, &(decryptT->hSymKey))) { FormattedDebugPrint(NULL, GetLastError(), "could not import secret key", TRUE); return -1; } And this gives the error: 80090001: Bad UID. The public keypair is being generated for both encryptT and decryptT (sender, receiver) by calling: CryptGenKey(encryptT->hCryptProv, CALG_RSA_KEYX, CRYPT_EXPORTABLE, &(encryptT->hPubKey)) Any idea what could be causing the error? Thanks,

  • Examples of when to use PageAsyncTask (Asynchronous asp.net pages)

    - by Tony_Henrich
    From my understanding from reading about ASP.NET asynchronous pages, the method which executes when the asynchronous task begins ALWAYS EXECUTES between the prerender and the pre-render Complete events. So because the page's controls' events run between the page's load and prerender events, is it true that whatever the begin task handler (handler for BeginAsync below) produces, it can't be used in the controls' events? So for example, if the handler gets data from a database, the data can't be used in any of the controls' postback events? Would you bind data to a data control after prerender? PageAsyncTask pat = new PageAsyncTask(BeginAsync, EndAsync, null, null, true); this.RegisterAsyncTask(pat);

  • Sharepoint listsService.updateList method clarification

    - by cyrix86
    I've seen an example here: msdn but it's a little confusing. So if I have a list definition with a field called "CustomField" and I want to update the "ShowField" attribute of this field to be true then I would do this: XmlNode listNode = listService.GetList("MyList"); string version = listNode.Attributes["Version"].Value; string guid = listNode.Attributes["Name"].Value; XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); XmlElement updateFields = xmlDoc.CreateElement("Fields"); string fieldXml = @"<Method ID="1"><Field Name="CustomField" ShowField="true" /></Method>"; updateFields.InnerXml = fieldXml; XmlNode result = listService.UpdateList(guid, null, null, updateFields, null, version); I'm confused because it would seem that you would need to provide a field element to indicate what field to update and then a value element to specify the new value. Could someone clarify this please?

  • WinForms Taskbar Icon - Click Event not firing

    - by Greycrow
    I have created a non-form c# program that uses the NotifyIcon class. The text "(Click to Activate)" shows up when I hover the mouse. So I am getting some events handled. However, The "Click" event does not fire and the Context menu doesnt show up. public class CTNotify { static NotifyIcon CTicon = new NotifyIcon(); static ContextMenu contextMenu = new ContextMenu(); static void Main() { //Add a notify Icon CTicon.Icon = new Icon("CTicon.ico"); CTicon.Text = "(Click to Activate)"; CTicon.Visible = true; CTicon.Click += new System.EventHandler(CTicon_Click); //Create a context menu for the notify icon contextMenu.MenuItems.Add("E&xit"); //Attach context menu to icon CTicon.ContextMenu = contextMenu; while (true) //Infinite Loop { Thread.Sleep(300); //wait } } private static void CTicon_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("Clicked!"); } }
