  • Android - How can I access a View object instantiated in onCreate in onResume?

    - by Chris
In my onCreate() method, I'm instantiating an ImageButton View: public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { Log.d(AntengoApplication.LOG_TAG, "BrowsePicture onCreate"); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.layout_post); final ImageButton ib = (ImageButton) findViewById(R.id.post_image); ... In onResume, I want to be able to change the properties of the ImageButton with something like: @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); ib.setImageURI(selectedImageUri); } //END onResume But onResume doesn't have access to the ib ImageButton object. If this were a variable, I'd simple make it a class variable, but Android does not allow you to define View object in the class. Any suggestions on how to do this?

  • Creating a file path in C#

    - by Jason
So I'm trying to create a path in C#. I use Environment.Machinename and store it a variable serverName. Then I create another string variable and have some other path extension in there. Here is my code so far: string serverName = Environment.MachineName; string folderName = "\\AlarmLogger"; No matter what I do I can't seem to obtain only one backslash prior to AlarmLogger. Any ideas how I can specify a path in C#? Edit: I'm wondering if my code doesn't seem to want to paste correctly. Anyways when i paste it I only see one backslash but my code has two. Because of the escape character sequence. But something like string test = @"\" + serverName + folderName doesn't seem to want to work for me.

  • Dynamically choosing css property in animation

    - by paddywhack
Hi, It seems a straightforward thing but I'm not having much success. I'm just implementing a simple animation moving a div left or up using animate() but I would like to be able to set the "top" and "left" css properties dynamically. I would like to use the same function rather than have to have two, one for "left" and one for "top". Here's some code which gives the idea. function test($element){ $element.click(function(){ var cssProperty; var direction = "left"; var moveTo = "100px"; if (direction === "top") { cssProperty = "top"; } else { cssProperty = "left"; } /*Using variable as CSS property - This doesn't work */ $(this).animate({ cssProperty: moveTo }, 1000); /*Using variable as the CSS Values - This does */ $(this).animate({ left: moveTo }, 1000); }); } Variables works on the css value side but not on the css selector side. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

  • troubles creating a List of doubles from a list of objects

    - by Michel
Hi, i have a list with objects. The object has a property 'Sales' which is a string. Now i want to create a list of doubles with the values of all objects' 'Sales' properties. I tried this: var tmp = from n in e.Result select new{ Convert.ToDouble ( n.Sales) }; but this gives me this error: Error 106 Invalid anonymous type member declarator. Anonymous type members must be declared with a member assignment, simple name or member access.

  • Vew not updating after scope update

    - by bsparacino
Here is a very simple example of what I am trying to do Athlete.save(athlete, function(result) { $scope.athlete = result.athlete; }); The issue is that the $scope.athlete variable does not update in my view. In order to get it to update I have to do this Athlete.save(athlete, function(result) { $scope.athlete.fname = result.athlete.fname; $scope.athlete.lname= result.athlete.lname; $scope.athlete.gender= result.athlete.gender; .... }); This gets annoying very quickly. With the first block of code it's as if angular does not know that my $scope.athlete variable has been updated. This function is triggered from an ng-click, not some jquery call, I am doing it the angular way as far as I know. here is a simpler case I made: http://plnkr.co/edit/lMCPbzqDOoa5K4GXGhCp

  • Can you recommend an in-browser Ruby/Rails 3D renderer?

    - by mohawkjohn
I want to draw some 3D network diagrams in a web browser, and the data for these diagrams are in a Rails app (in the database). I already use flotomatic as a Rails interface for pretty Javascript plots (e.g., independent variable, dependent variable). Certainly there are packages for drawing simple things in Javascript. What I'm looking for is (a) a Javascript package for 3D drawings that are displayed in a web browser (without a plugin), and (b) a Ruby API for that package, if possible. Any recommendations? Many thanks!

  • Gmock setting out parameter

    - by user1135541
Have a gmock method, and during test, need to set the out parameter to variable address. So that the out parameter of dequeue, which is data points to variable ch; MOCK_METHOD1(dequeue, void(void* data)); char ch = 'm'; void* a = (void*)&ch; EXPECT_CALL(FQO, dequeue(_)) .WillOnce(/*here I need to set argument to a*/); I tried to figure out side effects: https://code.google.com/p/googlemock/wiki/V1_7_CheatSheet#Side_Effects but keep getting an error.

  • @Path and regular expression (Jersey/REST)

    - by Castanho
Hi there! I'm using Jersey in a REST project and I'm needing to use regular expression. Digging about it is simple like: @Path("/resources) public class MyResource { @GET @Path("{subResources:.*}/bar") public String get() {...} } But, I'm only capable of using regex if in my @Path contains a variable or text value, example: @Path("{SubResource1}/{subResources:.*}/bar") Or @Path("hardCodeString/{subResources:.*}/bar") Today I could run with this solution of a variable, but is not oK for my perspective. Question Does anyone have worked with something related? I'm doing something wrong? I think that this could be a bug, when working with more then one @Path, one in the Class and other in the Method. Any tips is appreciated! Regards

  • LINQ display row numbers

    - by timvaines
I simply want to include a row number against the returned results of my query. I found the following post that describes what I am trying to achieve but gives me an exception http://vaultofthoughts.net/LINQRowNumberColumn.aspx "An expression tree may not contain an assignment operator" In MS SQL I would just use the ROWNUMBER() function, I'm simply looking for the equivalent in LINQ.

  • How does SET works with property in C#?

    - by Richard77
Hello, I'd like to know how set works in a property when it does more than just setting the value of a private member variable. Let's say I've a private member in my class (private int myInt). For instance, I can make sure that the the value returned is not negative get { if(myInt < 0) myInt = 0; return myInt; } With SET, all I can do is affecting the private variable like so set { myInt = value; } I didn't see in any book how I can do more than that. How about if I wan't to do some operation before affecting the value to myInt? Let's say: If the value is negative, affect 0 to myInt. set { //Check if the value is non-negative, otherwise affect the 0 to myInt } Thanks for helping

  • C++: String and unions

    - by sub
I'm having a (design) problem: I'm building an interpreter and I need some storage for variables. There are basically two types of content a variable here can have: string or int. I'm using a simple class for the variables, all variables are then stored in a vector. However, as a variable can hold a number or a string, I don't want C++ to allocate both and consume memory for no reason. That's why I wanted to use unions: union { string StringValue; int IntValue; } However, strings don't work with unions. Is there any workaround so no memory gets eaten for no reason?

  • Recursive solution to finding patterns

    - by user2997162
I was solving a problem on recursion which is to count the total number of consecutive 8's in a number. For example: input: 8801 output: 2 input: 801 output: 0 input: 888 output: 3 input: 88088018 output:4 I am unable to figure out the logic of passing the information to the next recursive call about whether the previous digit was an 8. I do not want the code but I need help with the logic. For an iterative solution, I could have used a flag variable, but in recursion how do I do the work which flag variable does in an iterative solution. Also, it is not a part of any assignment. This just came to my mind because I am trying to practice coding using recursion.

  • How do submit an object to a struts2 action using jQuery?

    - by James Drinkard
I have an object that I'm populating from a selection off a table row that a user selects. I have a jQuery function that captures the click event and a hidden form field populates an id I need. However, I'm not sure as to the proper way to send off that object to a struts2 action? I tried using this: $(function() { $('#tbl tr').click(function() { var id = $(this).closest('tr').find('input:hidden').val(); var page = "<s:url action='update/deleteInfo.action'/>?model.isDelete=true&model.info.id=id"; console.log(page); window.location.href=(page); }); }); The model object has an isDelete boolean variable and the model has a nested info object that has an id variable with getter/setters. However, when I send this across, the model object isn't populated with these entries. Is there a way to do this or a better way than the url tag?

  • read after lseek always return 0

    - by Wins
I'm having an issue reading byte in file after performing lseek long cur_position = lseek(fd, length * -1, SEEK_CUR ); // Rewind file reading by length bytes. printf("cur_position: %i\n", cur_position); int num_byte = read(fd, &byte, 1); printf("num_byte = %i\n", num_byte); With the initial variable length set to 34, the above code would produce cur_position 5 (so there are definitely at least 34 bytes after the lseek function returns), but the variable num_byte returned from function read always returns 0 even though there are still more bytes to read. Does anyone know the reason num_byte always return 0 or do I make mistake in the above code? Just for information, the above code was run on the following machine $ uname -srvpio Linux 3.2.0-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 16:52:17 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

  • Object is not a function on call to dialog() function

    - by coffeeaddict
    I keep getting "dialogDiv.dialog is not a function". I'm simply trying to invoke the jQueryUI dialog off my reference to the div. So incoming is the divID, for example "myDiv". Then I set it to a variable and wrap it in $("#" + myDiv); so that now I have a reference to it in a nice clear variable. Then I try to invoke the dialog function and get that error. not sure why and it's driving me nuts. function showDialog(divID) { // Get reference to the div element var dialogDiv = $("#" + divID); alert("dialogDiv:" + dialogDiv); dialogDiv.dialog ( { bgiframe: true, modal: true, autoOpen: false, show: 'blind' } ) dialogDiv.dialog("open"); }

  • Function Procedure in Java

    - by Lhea Bernardino
Create a program that will ask the user to enter 3 numbers using for loop, then test the numbers and display it in ascending order. Sample Input: 5 2 7 Sample Output: 2 5 7 I'm stuck with the testing procedure. I don't know how to test the numbers since the variable holding those numbers is just a single variable and inside the for loop here is my sample code: import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class ascending { public static void main(String args[]) { for(int x= 0; x<3;x++) { String Snum = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Enter a number"); int num = Integer.parseInt(Snum); } <Here comes the program wherein I will test the 3 numbers inputted by the user and display in ascending order. I don't know where to start. :'( >
