  • Runtime Error: "Out of Memory" From Excel Macro

    I have one macro, which is called when a cell change occurs. This macro selects images, deletes them, and inserts another image depending on a cell value using the following code. I have the same code for two sheets. Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) ActiveSheet.Shapes.SelectAll Selection.Delete 'insert image code here. End Sub In one sheet, it's working perfectly fine and deletes all images, while in the other sheet, it gives me the runtime error "Out of Memory" and highlights the following line: ActiveSheet.Shapes.SelectAll Can anyone tell me why this is happening? It works perfectly fine in one and not in the other. One other thing I want to tell you is it was working fine when I gave this Excel macro to my client; both sheets were working fine. Suddenly after 2 days, he started getting the error on one sheet on which he was working a lot. I don't know why this is happening. Can anyone tell me what's the reason for this and how I can solve it?

  • selected option not clearing from memory android

    I have a small random number spinner that when you click gives a random number. I am having two problems. The first is when the main activity loads it displays a random number on the screen without the random number spinner being clicked. I am unsure what to set to false to keep it from opening with the main activity. The second problem is that when you select an option from the spinner it does not clear. Meaning that If you click on option D6 or D20 then you can not click on the same option again until selecting the other option first. Essentially the selection does not clear out of memory after the random number is selected.   • Oracle VM repository creation seems contradictory to its server pool?

    I found something contradictory in Oracle VM. Clustered server pool creation in Oracle VM would format my FC LUN as ocfs2 , and start o2cb & ocfs2 services to build cluster environment. After that, when I wanted to create repository on the serverpool, unexpectedly, it told me that the physical disk I chose which is also my FC LUN, already contains a file system. What a contradictory! So what, delete the file system in serverpool? If so, why created it before?!     Hello I have a Mac mini using OS X 10.5.8. Recently I've been having problems that are becoming increasingly severe. Particular symptoms: Firefox "quits" but the dot on the dock remains. If I try shutting down at this point I can't and have to use the power button. I can't start Firefox either. Significantly higher than normal crash rate for CS4 Illustrator Photoshop and Dreamweaver. If Firefox remains open when sleeping the Mac, on waking up firefox is completely unresponsive and must be restarted. Can cause problem 1. Today I lost all my FTP settings for Dreamweaver CS4 Bluetooth switches on when booting despite being switched off. Network password retention is somewhat erractic. Tried running Apple Hardware Test as described in the manual. Cannot access install disk by pressing D at startup. My pen tablet (Bamboo) lost my preferences. Tried unstalling software and now cannot re-install. I've never had problems of this level outside warranty before so I don't know much about debugging Macs. Solutions attempted: Disable bluetooth (see problem 5) Disable time machine Run appple harware test (see problem 7) Tried using activity monitor but don't know which processes are normal Tried uninstalling more recent software. I don't have any idea what to do. It seems like a hard disk failure but I don't have the know how to continue.

    When I change the 'default language' in 'text services and input languages' in windows xp mode from EN-US to DE-DE the settings are reverted with the next logoff / reboot - EN-US is the default language again. Is there a way around this behaviour? I'm using the default 'XPMUser' in windows xp mode. I also checked 'turn off advanced text services' and disabled the language bar and windows xp remembers these settings - just not the default language..

    I am trying to set up a test installation of Openstack on a Ubuntu 12.04 VM running on a ESXi server. So far I have been able to launch the VMs on the ESXi, however am unable to assign IP addresses to them. As the VM with the Openstack installation has a single public IP, I wish to assign IPs to the VMs create through Openstack so that they can directly interact with the public network itself without having a separate private network. So I feel that bridging would not be the correct option here. But am unable to find the correct documents to go ahead with such an install.   • Open vSwitch and Xen Private Networks

    I've read about the possibilities of using Open vSwitch with Xen to route traffic between domUs on multiple physical hosts. I'd like to be able to group the multiple domUs I have spread out across multiple physical hosts into a number of private networks. However, I've found no documentation on how to integrate Open vSwitch with Xen (rather than XenServer) and am unsure how I should go about doing so and then creating the private networks described. As you might have gathered then - from research I think Open vSwitch can do what I need it to, but I just can't find anything giving me a push in the right direction of how to actually use it to do so! This may well be because Open vSwitch is quite new (version 1.0 released on May 17). Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated!

    I'm running a Java data import process on a 32-bit Ubuntu 10 PAE kernel machine. After running the process for a while, the oom-killer zaps my Java process. After some Googling and digging through docs, it looks like the system is running out of LowMem. I started the process for the third time and am watching free -lm show me Low: 464 386 77 with the free value (77MB) slowly decreasing. Why am I running out of lowmem and how do I increase it?   • VirtualBox guest network lost after host disconnects

    I am running VirtualBox both on a Snow Leopard OSX host machine and on a Windows Vista host machine. Whenever my host machines lose internet connection the guest machines seem to lose internet connectivity permanently even after the host connection to the Internet is reestablished. Resetting guest networking on the guest os, disconnecting cable via host virtualbox settings, and even restarting the guest OS do not help at all. The guest no longer can access the Internet. The only solution is restarting VirtualBox itself while the host is connected to the Internet. This really gets to be a pain when the host goes into sleep mode or I disconnect my laptop at work and then reconnect at home. Guests are setup with NAT networking. It affects guest machines with both Ubuntu and Windows XP OS'es. Is this expected behavior? Does anyone know of a fix? Or am I setup incorrectly?

  • How to Increase the VMWare Boot Screen Delay

    If you’ve wanted to try out a bootable CD or USB flash drive in a virtual machine environment, you’ve probably noticed that VMWare’s offerings make it difficult to change the boot device. We’ll show you how to change these options. You can do this either for one boot, or permanently for a particular virtual machine. Even experienced users of VMWare Player or Workstation may not recognize the screen above – it’s the virtual machine’s BIOS, which in most cases flashes by in the blink of an eye. If you want to boot up the virtual machine with a CD or USB key instead of the hard drive, then you’ll need more than an eye’s-blink to press Escape and bring up the Boot Menu. Fortunately, there is a way to introduce a boot delay that isn’t exposed in VMWare’s graphical interface – you have to edit the virtual machine’s settings file (a .vmx file) manually. Editing the Virtual Machine’s .vmx Find the .vmx file that contains the settings for your virtual machine. You chose a location for this when you created the virtual machine – in Windows, the default location is a folder called My Virtual Machines in your My Documents folder. In VMWare Workstation, the location of the .vmx file is listed on the virtual machine’s tab. If in doubt, search your hard drive for .vmx files. If you don’t want to use Windows default search, an awesome utility that locates files instantly is Everything. Open the .vmx file with any text editor. Somewhere in this file, enter in the following line… save the file, then close out of the text editor: bios.bootdelay = 20000 This will introduce a 20 second delay when the virtual machine loads up, giving you plenty of time to press the Escape button and access the boot menu. The number in this line is just a value in milliseconds, so for a five second boot delay, enter 5000, and so on. Change Boot Options Temporarily Now, when you boot up your virtual machine, you’ll have plenty of time to enter one of the keystrokes listed at the bottom of the BIOS screen on boot-up. Press Escape to bring up the Boot Menu. This allows you to select a different device to boot from – like a CD drive. Your selection will be forgotten the next time you boot up this virtual machine. Change Boot Options Permanently When the BIOS screen comes up, press F2 to enter the BIOS Setup menu. Switch to the Boot tab, and change the ordering of the items by pressing the “+” key to move items up on the list, and the “-” key to move items down the list. We’ve switched the order so that the CD-ROM Drive boots first. Once you make this change permanent, you may want to re-edit the .vmx file to remove the boot delay. Boot from a USB Flash Drive One thing that is noticeably missing from the list of boot options is a USB device. VMWare’s BIOS just does not allow this, but we can get around that limitation using the PLoP Boot Manager that we’ve previously written about. And as a bonus, since everything is virtual anyway, there’s no need to actually burn PLoP to a CD. Open the settings for the virtual machine you want to boot with a USB drive. Click on Add… at the bottom of the settings screen, and select CD/DVD Drive. Click Next. Click the Use ISO Image radio button, and click Next. Browse to find plpbt.iso or plpbtnoemul.iso from the PLoP zip file. Ensure that Connect at power on is checked, and then click Finish. Click OK on the main Virtual Machine Settings page. Now, if you use the steps above to boot using that CD/DVD drive, PLoP will load, allowing you to boot from a USB drive! Conclusion We’re big fans of VMWare Player and Workstation, as they let us try out a ton of geeky things without worrying about harming our systems. By introducing a boot delay, we can add bootable CDs and USB drives to the list of geeky things we can try out.   • Apache taking up too much CPU

    I'm trying to manage a server on Amazon for a network of sites that receives about 100 million pageviews per month. Unfortunately, nobody out of my team of 5 developers has much server admin experience. Right now we have the MaxClients set to 1400. Currently our traffic is about average, and we have 1150 total Apache processes running, which use about 2% CPU each! Out of those 1150, 800 of them are currently sleeping, but still taking up CPU. I'm sure there are ways to optimize this. I have a few thoughts: It appears Apache is creating a new process for every single connection. Is this normal? Is there a way to more quickly kill the sleeping processes? Should we turn KeepAlive on? Each page loads about 15-20 medium-sized graphics and a lot of javascript/css. So, here's our Apache setup. We do plan on contracting a server admin asap, but I would really appreciate some advice until we can find someone.   • Mac OS X - Force screen resolution

    Hello! I'm trying to use the lastest version of a certain development tool and it's sort of difficult to use on a 1200x800 display. Using VMWare Fusion, I can set the screen resolution inside a VM to 1900x1200 on my 13" MBP and it's still usable. Does anyone know of a way to force Mac OS X to scale it's resolution? I tried ScreenResX and it said the scaled resolution was "invalid" or something like that. I know that there are only a certain number of pixels on the screen. I'm only asking how to scale, not set a legit resolution. My current hack solution is to run Snow Leopard Server in a VM with resolution scaling.

This website will not have a lot of users, I only need that it will run fast for 100-20 users in same time. The problem with magento is database design that make this system very slow , also other staff not the best. I had hostmonster.com and justhost.com for previous website but it wasn't fast enough for single user that not located in USA (my customer areas: Asia, Africa). each action that involve database takes a lot of time.   • why does Virtualbox use 15-20% CPU when VM is paused?

    Hello, I run VirtualBox 3.1 on Ubuntu with a Win XP guest. I have noticed to my surprise that when I pause the VM (its screen grays out) VirtualBox continues using 15-20% of the host's CPU. Is this normal behavior? Is there a way to avoid it? (Without saving the state of the VM and exiting VirtualBox.) Thanks for any insights! ~lara

  • Azure can't ping or telnet VM from client

    I have a VM on Azure with an instance sqlserver 2012 running on it. From my work computer and my home computer I can't get sqlserver management studio connect to it. I have looked at ALL the settings recommended in numerous articles. everything is setup correctly. endpoint 1433 Private and public sqlserver tcp enabled. sqlserver tcp listening on right port sqlserver using mixed auth windows fire wall, holes poked and then disabled on both client and VM can log in from VM using the credentials that I'm trying to use remotely further more I can't ping the dns or ip or tellnet address from my local machines. I can however hit the iis from a browser using the ip. strange. CS asked me to download MS Network Monitor, which I did and pinged and telneted. I have the results saved but can't really make heads or tails of them. CS hasn't responded yet. I can post some info here that would help. EDIT Never one to shrink from a challenge, I deleted my VM and re-did everything. Now it works although my confidence azure is somewhat shaken.

    I'm thinking of buying a mac mini server for my email needs (small office server for 999 with all the features i want build in) I wanted to give it a test drive before i commit so i was thinking "hey this sounds like the perfect job for a vm" however i havent been able to see any examples of running snow lepoard server on a vm does anyone know if its possible and/or there is a premade vm package to test it out with?

  • Need a VM for running a PHP Sandbox

    I am working on Web application honeypot. It collects PHP files it receives (as part of an RFI attack) and runs them in order to return the result back to the attacker. The aim is to coax the bad guy into going further into his attack. Based on the answers to my SO question, I am looking at using VMs for running the PHP Sandbox. The honeypot itself consists of Python code and will be running in a Linux environment (preferably Ubuntu-like). These are some of the requirements: The VM should be a light weight as possible. We are going to distribute the code around and many people are going to use the VM along with the Python based honeypot. So, the installation and configuration should not be too difficult. The guest system would also be Linux as we are going to distribute the VM image around. It should be possible for the Python code outside to talk to the guest system. It would be passing on the PHP file to the guest system and will get the output result from it. It should be possible to automate the initial configuration of the VM (such as allocation of RAM etc.) I would like to randomize these settings in order to make the sandbox less 'fingerprintable' I have looked at OpenVZ and KVM so far. Are there any other VMs that I might look at? What do you recommend?
