• How to resolve a java.security.AccessControlException?

  I have written an SAX parser in my Google App Engine Web application. in that I try to validate my xml file with an xsd. • How to set default Java version?

  I have followed all the instructions stated at this question, but am encountering some problems with the last part of it. I actually have version 6.22 of java and would like to update to version 6.30. So after moving the extracted directory java-6-oracle into /usr/lib/jvm I do not know what to do, since the script that is pointed out in the answer above updates from java 5 to java 6. • Java EE 7 JSR Submitted

  Java EE 7 has been filed as JSR 342 in the JCP program. This JSR (Java Specification Request) will develop Java EE 7, the next version of the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition. It is an "umbrella JSR" because the specification includes a collection of several other JSRs. The proposal suggests the addition of two new JSRs: Concurrency Utilities for Java EE (JSR-236) and JCache (JSR-107) as well as updates to JPA, JAX-RS, JSF, Servlets, EJB, JSP, EL, JMS, JAX-WS, CDI, Bean Validation, JSR-330, JSR-250, and Java Connector Architecture. There are also two new APIs under discussion: a Java Web Sockets API and a Java JSON API. These are the new JSRs that are currently up for ballot:• JSR 342: Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 7 Specification• JSR 340: Java Servlet 3.1 Specification• JSR 341: Expression Language 3.0• JSR 343: Java Message Service 2.0• JSR 344: JavaServer Faces 2.2All 5 JSRs are now up for Executive Committee voting with ballots closing on 14 March, and slated for inclusion in Java EE  7.  All of these JSRs are also open for Expert Group nominations. Any JCP member can nominate themself to serve on the Expert Groups for these JSRs. Details on how to become a JCP member are on jcp.org. The JCP gives you a chance to have your own work become an official component of the Java platform and to offer suggestions for improving and growing the technology. The issue is that when Java applets load the Java splash screen is very shaky (I will have to take a screenshot if you don't know what I am talking about) and than the Java applet screen does not show properly. The Applet we use most is for a security camera and you can't view the camera properly because of the Java issues. I have uninstalled Java and re-installed and still having the same issue. I do not see any errors on the Java Console, and this only happens on his computer I am running the same version of Java and the browsers and do not have the same issue on my machine.

Given that Java 1.4 entered its End Of Life around 2006 and was officially End Of Life'd around 2008. Why is type erasure still being performed in Java 7, etc... Has the statement now become self referential i.e. Type erasure enables Java applications that use generics to maintain binary compatibility with Java libraries and applications that were created with Java versions that perform Type Erasure. Meaning therefore that there will never be a version of Java that doesn't perform Type Erasure.

  Hi all, I want to enable the debug page. So, I have done the following: I have the jboss-seam and jboss-seam-debug jars as dependency in both my ejb and web maven projects (both are modules of my superproject) I put this context parameter in my web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>org.jboss.seam.core.init.debug</param-name> <param-value>true</param-value> </context-param> Now, when I hit the URL of my application, I get the debug page with this exception (full stacktrace at the end of the post): Caused by java.lang.IllegalStateException with message: "No phase id bound to current thread (make sure you do not have two SeamPhaseListener instances installed)" From posts I read it seems that this is somehow related to two jars of jboss-seam or jboss-seam-debug being in the classpath. I opened my ear file and only one of each is present (in the ear) whereas the war itself has no libraries in the WEB-INF/lib. I have also read of another way to initialize debug page using the components.xml. • Java EE@Java Day Taipei 2014

  Java Day Taipei 2014 was held at the Taipei International Convention Center on August 1st. Organized by Oracle University, it is one of the largest Java developer events in Taiwan. This was another successful year for Java Day Taipei with a fully sold out venue. In addition to Oracle speakers like me, Steve Chin and Naveen Asrani, the event also featured a bevy of local speakers including Taipei Java community leaders. Topics included Java SE, Java EE, JavaFX and Big Data. I delivered a keynote on Java EE 7/Java EE 8 as well as a talks on aligning the JavaScript ecosystem with Java EE 7 and using NoSQL solutions in Java EE applications. • Yet another Java EE 6 book

  We have a new Java EE 6 book in store! This one from Packt Publishing is called "Java EE 6 Development with NetBeans 7" by David Heffelfinger who is also author of Java EE 5 and GlassFish books. This book holds a step-by-step book documention all of the Java EE 6 features and APIs (including CDI) using the IDE with the best Java EE out-of-the-box experience : NetBeans 7. It uses GlassFish as the default container and PrimeFaces as a JSF component suite. We've covered several Java EE and GlassFish books before and I can't help but think that given writing books never helped authors retire early, having so many good books on Java EE 6 says something about its success among developers.

• "java.security.AccessControlException: access denied" executing a signet Java Applet

  I have a little Java Applet and I have an annoying issue. I have signed my JAR with my own keystore using jarsigner tool (following these instructions). The Java Applet downloads a signed JAR and tries to launch it with an extended class of URLClassLoader. This JAR tries to execute this line of code: ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader().getResource("aResource"); It fails with a large stack trace finished by: Caused by: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied ("java.lang.RuntimePermission" "getClassLoader") at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(AccessControlContext.java:366) at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(AccessController.java:555) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(SecurityManager.java:549) at java.lang.Thread.getContextClassLoader(Thread.java:1451) ... 21 more When the Java Applet is launched, the user is prompted to accept the certificate if he/she trusts the publisher: Even if I accept it, the exception occurred. Even if I install the certificate, and the prompt message is automatically accepted, the exception occurred. Any help would be appreciated!
