• Installing Bugzilla on Ubuntu 9.04 and Plesk

  Hey guys. I'm trying to install the latest Bugzilla version on my ubuntu server. (Want to use a subdomain like bugs.domain.com) I already installed all necessary perl modules and check_modules.pl doesn't show any errors. But when I'm running the testserver.pl script I get the following: TEST-OK Webserver is running under group id in $webservergroup TEST-FAILED Fetch of images/padlock.png failed I'm also not able to visit ANY file within the bugzilla folder from the browser. I'm always getting a 404 error. The bugzilla folder and all containing files are set to apache as the owner. I tried to enter the apache configuration form the installation guide in the http.include file of the domain and in the vhosts.conf file of the subdomain as well. I don't know what to do... Playing with plesks' suexecgroup doesn't bring any solution... I hope you can help me! Thanks in advance!

• Perl unit test - start a tcp server & continue

  I am trying to write a unit test for a client server application. To test the client, in my unit test, I want to first start my tcp server (which itself is another perl file). I tried to start the tcp server by forking: if (! fork()) { system ("$^X server.pl") == 0 or die "couldn't start server" } So when I call "make test" after "perl Makefile.PL", this test starts & I can see the server starting but after that the unit test just hangs there. So I guess I need to start this server in background and I tried the "&" at the end to force it to start in background & then test to continue. But, I still couldn't succeed. What am I doing wrong? • How can I calculate data for a boxplot (quartiles, median) in a Rails app on Heroku? (Heroku uses Po

  I'm trying to calculate the data needed to generate a box plot which means I need to figure out the 1st and 3rd Quartiles along with the median. I have found some solutions for doing it in Postgresql however they seem to depend on either PL/Python or PL/R which it seems like Heroku does not have either enabled for their postgresql databases. In fact I ran "select lanname from pg_language;" and only got back "internal". I also found some code to do it in pure ruby but that seems somewhat inefficient to me. I'm rather new to Box Plots, Postgresql, and Ruby on Rails so I'm open to suggestions on how I should handle this. There is a possibility to have a lot of data which is why I'm concerned with performance however if the solution ends up being too complex I may just do it in ruby and if my application gets big enough to warrant it get my own Postgresql I can host somewhere else. *note: since I was only able to post one link, cause I'm new, I decided to share a pastie with some relevant information

  I am using native Oracle XML DB Web Services (using a PL/SQL function with a web service). I want to drop null values (put nothing in the output (no XML element)). It's working with Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 but not with Oracle 11.2.0.3.0. Just to clarify... I think this is strange since calling ggplot directly produces the right plot: i <- 2 ggplot(diamonds, aes(x=diamonds[,i]))+geom_bar()+xlab(names(diamonds)[i]) I don't really know how to describe this as a fitting title - suggestions as to a more descriptive question-title is most welcome. • Why doesn't my Perl script start under FastCGI?

  I am getting this error in error_log one of my Perl CGI application. I am pretty sure I haven't changed my script at all and all of a sudden i have started getting this error. This is what I see in error_log: [Wed Jul 8 15:18:20 2009] [warn] FastCGI: server "/local/web/test/cgi-bin/test.pl" (pid 17033) terminated by calling exit with status '255' [Wed Jul 8 15:18:20 2009] [warn] FastCGI: server "/local/web/test/cgi-bin/test.pl" has failed to remain running for 30 seconds given 3 attempts, its restart interval has been backed off to 600 seconds (The snippet was edited for clarity) Also, the AddHandler line for FastCGI exists in the config file. Can any tell me the possible reasons for this error? There is nothing recorded in Apache logs.

Im guessing hte addlead.pl is just a posting page with no response.

  Consider the following silly Perl program: $firstarg = $ARGV[0]; print $firstarg; $input = <>; print $input; I run it from a terminal like: perl myprog.pl sample_argument And get this error: Can't open sample_argument: No such file or directory at myprog.pl line 5. Any ideas why this is? When it gets to the < is it trying to read from the (non-existent) file, "sample_argument" or something? And why?

  How do I add let's say something like ajax=1 to all links on my page with jquery. I will also need to check if the url has existing parameters. for example "http://mysite.com/index.php?pl=132" will have to become "http://mysite.com/index.php?pl=132&ajax=1" Also, if the link does not have any parameters, for example "http://mysite.com/index.php", it will become "http://mysite.com/index.php?ajax=1" I want to load the jquery script on document ready so all links are changed on page load.
