Is there a CSS property that would force the paragraph to either display fully or not at all, or would this need to be calculated using javascript?

  Hey, I am trying to calculate a SHA-1 Hash from a string, but when I calculate the string using php's sha1 function I get something different than when I try it in C#. I need C# to calculate the same string as PHP (since the string from php is calculated by a 3rd party that I cannot modify). How can I get C# to generate the same hash as PHP? Thanks!!! Below I have code which works for lists - it is implemented in my service layer, but also I want to execute this code when I just get one item from the database and execute is as well in different services where I'm accessing Customers data as well. • How can I call model methods or properties from Django Admin?

  Is there a natural way to display model methods or properties in the Django admin site? In my case I have base statistics for a character that are part of the model, but other things such as status effects which affect the total calculation for that statistic: class Character(models.Model): base_dexterity = models.IntegerField(default=0) @property def dexterity(stat_name): total = self.base_dexterity total += sum(s.dexterity for s in self.status.all()]) return total It would be nice if I could display the total calculated statistic alongside the field to change the base statistic in the Change Character admin page, but it is not clear to me how to incorporate that information into the page.

  I'm doing a calculator. So I made my own Buttons with numbers and functions. The expression that has to be calculated, is in an EditText, because I want users can add numbers or functions also in the middle of the expression, so with the EditText I have the cursor. But I want to disable the Keyboard when users click on the EditText. The BMI is calculated into a decimal type which I'm now trying to use in a switch statement, but aparently decimal can't be used in a switch? • Delphi DateTimeFormat returning wrong year

  I have a form that allows users to enter a date of birth: ie: 4/16/40 Then when the user processes the form there's a function that checks it's length, adds leading zeros, parses the date and then uses FormatDateTime to just return the year of birth: strTemp := strPostedByDOB; If Length(strTemp) = 5 then strTemp = '0' + strTemp; if Length(strTemp) = 6 then begin strTemp := Copy(strTemp, 1 ,2) + '/' + copy(strTemp, 3, 2) + '/' + Copy(strTemp, 5, 2); strTemp := FormatDateTime('YYYY', StrToDate(strTemp)); end else strTemp := EmptyStr; using this code the strTemp is calculated as 2040 instead of 1940. Can anyone help me figure out how to make it show 1940 in strTemp? Do I have to change the form to accept a 4 digit year? Thanks, Leslie

  I know that a char and an int are calculated as being 8 bytes on 32 bit architectures due to alignment, but I recently came across a situation where a structure with 3 shorts was reported as being 6 bytes by the sizeof operator. But look like both the author and answerer have already abandoned it. v(hexagonSide - hexagonWidth * hexagonWidth): What's hexagonSide and hexagonWidth? Isn't it will < 0 (so square root can't be calculated). And, can I put a hexagon into a rectangle? I need to create a grid like this: One more thing, how can I arrange my array to store data, as well as get which cells are next to one cell? I have never been taught about hexagon, so I know nothing about it, but I can easily learn new thing, so if you can explain or give me a clue, I may do it myself.

• Problem with ranking of search results in SharePoint 2007 if using the CONTAINS predicate

  While writing a front-end for the SharePoint Search web service for work, I did some quick testing with the MOSS Search Tool to make sure things were working right under the hood. What I found was that queries composed only of CONTAINS predicates (FREETEXT ones were fine) would have a rank of 1000 for any results that were returned. According to the documentation (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms544086.aspx): "If the query returns a document because a non–full-text predicate evaluates to TRUE for that document, the rank value is calculated as 1000." Given that the behaviour I am seeing seems to contradict the documentation, is it the case that all queries that use only the CONTAINS predicate will produce ranking like this?

Before calculation takes place: Make sure all three select values are changed before function(F) takes place. If not prompt the user with a notice ( create dom element/ I am using jquery) b. After the value R is calculated show an element corresponding to the result e.g. if R is 1 show an element ( a predetermined "link" element corresponding to each result value) thanks a lot.

  Hey all- I'm using QBFC to generate invoices in a Quickbooks integrating app. I'm getting an exception thrown for lineItem.Amount.SetValue(val as Double) when I try to enter a programmatically generated double. The following does not work: lineItem = invoice.ORInvoiceLineAddList.Append.InvoiceLineAdd Dim amount as Double amount = summary.dailySold * summary.dailyRate loggingTxtBox.AppendText("Amount is " & amount & vbNewLine) lineItem.Amount.SetValue(amount) The exception I receive is System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040305): Invalid Amount format. at Interop.QBFC8.IQBAmountType.SetValue(Double val) The following works: lineItem.Amount.SetValue(20.3) Any suggestions?   Hi, I want some help on UIAccelerometer class. I want to find some way to find out or distinguish when I wave iphone device from right-to-left and the left-to-right. I am getting x,y,z values as well as interval value. I am also getting velocity and distance calculated from normal physics rule. Distance = (prevDist + sqrt(pow((prevx - acceleration.x), 2) + pow((prevy - acceleration.y), 2) + pow((prevz - acceleration.z), 2))) Velocity = (Distance * timeintercal) { here distance means newdistance-prevdistance and timeinterval for that distance } When I am moving iphone device right-to-left then left-to-right I am getting total distance traveld in both direction and velocity at regular intervals. Maximum execution time : 3 seconds Numbers only till 100,000 If the splitting is NOT possible, then return -1 What i did : using the sieve of eratosthenes, i calculated all prime numbers till the specified number. looked up a concept called goldbach conjecture which expresses an even number as the summation of 2 primes. However, i am stuck beyond that. Can anyone help me on this one as to what approach u might take ? The sieve of eratosthenes is taking 2 seconds to count primes till 100,000 :(((

  Due to a discussion on the SO IRC today, I'm curious about orbital mechanics, and The equations needed to solve orbital problems The computing power required to solve complex problems The question in particular is calculating when the Earth will plow into the Sun (or vice versa, depending on the frame of reference). I suspect that all the gravitational pulls within our solar system may need to be calculated, which makes me wonder what type of computer cluster is required, or can this be done on a single box? • Is it safe to use the same parameters for input and output in D3DX functions?

  Using the D3DX library that is a part of directX, specifically directx9 in this case, I'm wondering if it's safe to use the same matrix (or vector etc) for input and ouput D3DXMATRIX mat; D3DXMatrixInverse(&mat, NULL, &mat); I've been avoiding doing so, assuming that it would result in bad things happening when parts of the array got partly overwritten as results are calculated but I see an awful lot of code around that does exactly this. A brief test indicates that it seems to work ok, so I'm assuming that the D3DX functions take a copy where necessary of the input data, or some other method to ensure that this works ok, but I can't find it documented anywhere so I'm reluctant to rely on it working. Is there any official statement on using the functions like this?

• Sort NSFetchedResultsController results by user location

  I have an application that contains some Locations in Core Data, and I want to show them to the user in order of proximity to the user's location. I am using an NSFetchedResultsController to serve the locations to the Table View. I thought about creating a virtual accessor method that returns the location's distance from the user, that would be calculated using a "global" CoreLocationManager, but it crashes with reason: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'keypath distanceFromCurrentLocation not found in entity < NSSQLEntity Location id=4' I also give the user the option to sort alphabetically, so I would prefer it if I kept the NSFetchedResultsController, if possible. How should I do it? Thanks!

  I have an application where I can have an image moving towards the eye. When the image enlarged, I would like to have it resized as 635 px where initial size was 220 px. I have the image with starting position as 0 in z axis. I am wanting to calculate the distance from starting position to the resized image. I have already calculate the distance by hand but when I tried to put it on flash the result is not what i wanted. I am sure that the value I calculated was correct. I know it may be hard to understand my problem. Please help.

  Host Configuration: HP EliteBook 8530w 4G Ram Win7 Ultimate 64Bit RC SQL Server 2005 64bit Developer Edition Virtual: Windows Virtual PC 1G Ram allocated Integration Services installed Windows XP 64bit Up to date service packs and .Net framework through 3.5 SP1 Sharing the Gigabit network adapter of the Host I have a simple .Net console application which loads a dataset of approximately 37K rows. Running the application on the host executes in approximately 4 seconds. Running inside the virtual takes 729 seconds. The size of the application grows to about 65Mb when the dataset is finished loading, no calculated columns or event handlers are attached. [edit] I changed the virtual to use a loopback adapter to communicate with the host and performance is now on par with running on hardware. Any ideas as to why it would going over the network adapter be almost 200x longer? TraceRt shows that the connection is only one hop. Thanks, Shane Holder

Say I had a calculated value: public double ScaledWidgets { get { return TotalWidgets * CONSTANT_FACTOR; } } I would have to fire ScaledWidget's PropertyChanged when TotalWidgets is updated, eg: set { m_TotalWidgets = value; RaisePropertyChanged("TotalWidgets"); RaisePropertyChanged("ScaledWidgets"); } Is there a better way to do this? Is it possible "invalidate" the whole object, especially if there are a lot of derived values? I think it would be kind of lame to fire 100 PropertyChanged events.
