  • MVC Project for review

    I am very close to completion of a mvc project which I want to make public. I want people to review my codes and give me the feedback, so that I can improve my codes and make this project better. I will put this code on codeplex or at some other repository soon. Or is there any better way to get it reviewed. Also I havent written any test for that. I dont have much experience in that area, if somebody can do it, I will really be thankful.

  • Searching through Collections in Java

    I have a java properties file containing a key/value pair of country names and codes. I will load the contents of this file into a Collection like List or HashMap. Then, I want users to be able to search for a country, e.g if they type 'Aus' in a textbox and click submit, then I want to search through the collection I have, containing a key/value pair of country codes/names (e.g AUS=Australia), and return those countries which are found matching. Is there any more efficient way of doing this, other than looping through the elements of the collection and using charAt()?

    I have a Microsoft Access database file connected to VB.NET. In the database table, I have a 'No.' and a 'Status' column. Then I have a textbox where I can input an integer. I also have a button, which will change the data cell in 'Status' where 'No.' = textbox.Text(), when I click it. Let's say I want the 'Status' cell to be changed to "Low". What codes should I put in the button_Click event handler? Here is the codes I used to retrieve and display the database table.   • Do all header("Location: member.php?id=$username") have to be the first thing in a script? (PHP)

    I know in the Manuel it says that the header has to be the first thing in a script, but how come I see some codes where header("Location: member.php?id=$username") is in a if-statement? Ex: //a bunch of codes above if($result!="0"){ // authenication correct lets login $_SESSION["password"] = $password;; $_SESSION["username"] = $username; header("Location: member.php?id=$username"); } else { echo "Wrong username or password. Please try again!"; } But when I do this, it sometimes would/won't throw an error. How do I allow the header (); to be used in a script without any errors? I want to redirect the user back to the login if they click "no" and to the homepage if they click "yes".

    Hi all, From a security standpoint, what is the best solution to handle application errors with Websphere? I've been thinking of creating a class that is called every time an application error is generated, log the error and display a generic error message to the users. In PHP this can be achieved using the set_exception_handler() function. Is there something similar for websphere that could be configured in the web.xml? I've found codes like this on the internet: <error-page> <error-code>500</error-code> <location>/servlet/ExceptionHandlerServlet</location> </error-page> But that would only work with "500" HTTP error codes. I really want something generic that catches everything. Something like a class that implements a certain interface which can have access to all information about the error. Thanks for your time.

  • Determine if on product page programmatically in Magento

    I want to insert tracking codes on all of the pages of a Magento site, and need to use a different syntax if the page is a CMS page, a category browsing page, or a product view page. I have a custom module set up with a block that inserts a generic tracking code on each page for now. From within the block, how can I distinguish between CMS pages, category pages, and product pages? I started with: Mage::app()->getRequest(); I can see that Mage::app()->getRequest()->getParam('id'); returns the product or category ID on product and category pages, but doesn't distinguish between those page types. Mage::app()->getRequest()->getRouteName(); return "cms" for CMS pages, but returns "catalog" for both category browsing and product view pages, so I can't use that to tell category and product pages apart. Is there some indicator in the request I can use safely? Or is there a better way to accomplish my goal of different tracking codes for different page types?

    I'm working now on a project which a user can save their own coupon codes on the websites, so I want to know what is the best to do that, Lets say, I have 1 table with the users, like this, userId | firstName | lastName | codeId and then I have a table of the coupon codes, like this, codeId | codeNumber So what I can do is to connect the codeId to userId so when someone saves the coupons goes the codeId from the coupon table into the codeId of the users table, But now what if when a user have multiple coupons what do I do it should be connected to the user? I have 2 options what to do, Option 1, Saving the codeId from coupons table into the codeId of users table like 1,2,3,4,5, Option 2 To make a new row into the coupons table and to connect the user to the code with adding another field in the coupon table userId and putting into it the user which has added the coupon his userId of the users table, So what of the two options is better to do?     I've been assigned a project for a website where users will be allowed to upload video's (using a YouTube API) but more importantly (for me) they will also be allowed to submit video embed codes (from numerous video sites, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. etc.). Having no experience with allowing users to embed video: How can I best protect against cross site scripting and/or cross site request forgery attacks specifically for video embedding? What are some of the common pitfalls to watch for? At a minumum I would think to strip all tags except <object> and <embed>. But I have a feeling this will not be enough, will it? If it is of importance, the environment will be: PHP/Zend Framework MySQL Bonuspoints: Is there a common minimum golden rule/code template for video embed codes that are valid across all video sites that I could use to filter the input?

    I try to pragrammatically run applications such as notepad.exe and Calc.exe with the following codes. I can see the application is activated in Process Exprorer but the application UI does not appear on the screen.     In the controller, how can I add a variable at the end of a params[]? If I try this I get an error: params[:group_] + variable How should it be done? Edit per request Ok, I have a form that sets groups of radio buttons with names like this: group_01DRN0 Obviously I have different groups in the form (group_01AAI0, group_01AUI0, etc.) and the value is set according to the radio button selected within the group: Radio button "group_01DRN0" could have value of "21" or "22" or "23", radio button "group_01AAI0" could have value of "21" or "22" or "23", etc. In the DB I have every code (01DRN0, 01AAI0, 01AUI0, etc) so I want to select them from DB and iterate in the params value so I can get the radio button group value, I've tried this with no luck: @codes=Code.get_codes for c in @codes @all=params[:group_] + c.name end Thanks.

    I have some source codes from a friend that I would like to use as referenced library in my BlackBerry project. I'm not sure about how to package the source codes into a .jar file. I tried exporting the source to a JAR file and import it as external JAR in my project, it's giving me missing stack map error. I tried to preverify the .jar file generated from the source using the provided preverification tool from BlackBerry JDE, it didn't give me any output folder. In fact, I'm not sure if the way I export the source is correct. Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions on how to package existing source code into a valid JAR file that can be imported into my project as a referenced library? Again, I'm using eclipse.     In my C++ application, I have some values that act as codes to represent other values. To translate the codes, I've been debating between using a switch statement or an stl map. The switch would look something like this: int code; int value; switch(code) { case 1: value = 10; break; case 2: value = 15; break; } The map would be an stl::map<int, int> and translation would be a simple lookup with the code used as the key value.     I'm having trouble with sound in Flash. I may have went about coding the wrong way, because most of my codes are on frames. So, I have these two variables var outsideDay:Sound = new daysong(); var outsideNight:Sound = new nightsong(); And I want to play these songs on a specific frame. However, the sounds play sporadically, like 50 times at once. I think it's because I have other codes that link to the frames with a Enter_Frame function. How can I get the sounds to loop and not play multiple times at once?
