    I'm looking for recommendations for an easy to use reporting/business intelligence tool that can interface with an sql server or access database. It can be web-based or a desktop tool. Ideally it would be freeware or low cost, and easy to use for users who are not that technically savvy (below the level of someone who can generate reports and complicated queries in Access). Any tools I've seen so far (such as Crystal Reports) are either too expensive or too complicated to use for non-power users.

  • Photoshop CS6 - spacebar shortcut for hand tool has stopped working

    In Photoshop CS6, the default behavior of depressing the spacebar as a shortcut for the Hand tool was working as expected, then stopped for no apparent reason. I have rebooted, closed browsers, shut down all other applications and deleted preferences and the problem persists. The spacebar works properly elsewhere, including Photoshop CS4. Is there a keyboard shortcut setting I'm missing (I've checked Edit - Keyboard Shortcuts and can find nothing for the spacebar, and can not add it to the Hand tool). This is on OSX Lion 10.7.4

  • How to set the IP address in a customized OpenWRT compilation

    I have been struggling today customizing OpenWRT. I checkout the stable using SVN, "make menuconfig" to customize the image, "make" it and run it on a router. Almost all my modifications work, except for the (Seemingly trivial) task of changing the default 192.168.1.1 address. I tried numerous files (scripts as well as config files) but I can't seem to change it (I can change it for a brief moment after boot using the "preinit" file, but after a few seconds it reverts to default). I suspect I should be setting it in the /etc/network file, but modifications there seem to be overwritten during boot. Maybe it has something to do with the br-lan interface? Does anybody have some thoughts on the subject? Thanks!

  • GUI tool to extract iso file contents on Linux (KDE)

    I have an ISO CD image file and want to extract it's contents to a folder. I know there are ways to mount the image and stuff, but it's complicated. I'm looking for a GUI tool to open up the contets and extract needed files. On windows I would use WinRar to do this. K3B only allows me to burn the stuff, Arch does not work with ISO files :( Is there a similar tool on Linux, preferably from KDE world?

    Hi, I'm looking for a command line tool for windows that will go over a directory tree (recursively) and output a list of all the files in there, and a checksum for each file (can be CRC, MD5, whatever). Esentially, what I want is to compare 2 big directory trees in 2 machines. I'm planning to take the outputs of running this tool in both, and diffing them to make sure they're identical. I appreciate any ideas.

  • Java compilation with two versions of Eclipse

    I've got an old project in Eclipse 2.1 and compiled with a JDK 1.4.2_12. I want to upgrade the version of Eclipse to Eclipse Galileo. I've imported my project and set the compilation level to 1.4 and I've also updated my build path to use the correct JDK. The problem is that when I compare the compiled files in the classes folder in the two versions of Eclipse, the MD5 checksum are different. Should I be worried about that fact or this is normal?

  • Cannot get Windows snipping tool to auto run with AutoHotKey

    I am trying to get Windows 7 sniping tool to run when I hit my PRINTSCREEN keyboard button with AUTOHOTKEY. I have been unsuccessful so far though. Here is what I have for the AutoHotKey script. I have tried this PRINTSCREEN::Run, c:\windows\system32\SnippingTool.exe and this PRINTSCREEN::Run, SnippingTool.exe and this PRINTSCREEN::Run, SnippingTool And all those give me this error when I hit the PRINTSCREEN button... It basicly says it cannot find the file, however the file path seems to be correct, I can copy paste it into a window and it opens the snipping tool, any ideas why it will not work?     I do in file search a lot, and used to love grep. Then I learn the existence of egrep, so I switched to benefit from the advanced regexp. Then I discovered the Eclipse search tool. Much easier to use that grep. Then I found ack : fast, easy, powerful. And now I use grin, which is smooth for pythonistas. I know there is also a couple of this kind of tools with a GUI. So what tool do you use, and why do you think it's the best. Practical features generally are : fast to fire and use; speedy processing; automatically ignore useless files; colored output; output lines, filename, context; allow complex regexp; allow a custom filtering and ouput; GUI + command line intergation; let you open an editor from the result set.   • C# Conditional Compilation and framework targets

    There are a few minor places where code for my project may be able to be drastically improved if the target framework were a newer version. I'd like to be able to better leverage conditional compilation in C# to switch these as needed. Something like: #if NET_40 using FooXX = Foo40; #elif NET_35 using FooXX = Foo35; #else using FooXX = Foo20; #endif Do these symbols come for free? Do I need to inject these symbols as part of the project configuration? Seems easy enough to do since I'll know which framework is being targeted from msbuild. I think I've seen that NET_40 symbol isn't defined? If so I think I could do this? #if !NET_35 && !NET_20 #define NET_40 #endif Or do I need to define it in the msbuild command: /p:DefineConstants="NET_40"

    I get this exception after i removed from my project the jars (pdfbox ,bouncycastle etc) and moved them to another folder but i included them in the build path ... at the first line eclipse shows this error( the constructor PDFParser(InputStream) refers to missing type InputStream) -altought FileInputStream is extended from InputStream- and i don't know why?
