  • MSSQLSERVER Will Not Start - Event ID 913 and 1814

    - by ThaKidd
    Hello ServerFault! I need some serious help. I have a major database server down and am scratching my head at how to fix it. The server was hit by rolling black outs last week in Dallas and sense then, Microsoft SQL 2005 SP2 will not start up. I am getting the following errors (both when starting the service and while trying to execute mssqlsrv.exe -c -f -m: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSSQLSERVER Event ID: 913 Could not find database ID 3. Database may not be activated yet or may be in transition. Reissue the query once the database is available. If you do not think this error is due to a database that is transitioning its state and this error continues to occur, contact your primary support provider. Please have available for review the Microsoft SQL Server error log and any additional information relevant to the circumstances when the error occurred. and... Event Type: Information Event Source: MSSQLSERVER Event ID: 1814 Could not create tempdb. You may not have enough disk space available. Free additional disk space by deleting other files on the tempdb drive and then restart SQL Server. Check for additional errors in the event log that may indicate why the tempdb files could not be initialized. I have tried to rename the tempdb.mdf to tempdb.old with no success. I have checked and have 193 GB of free hard drive space. What else might cause this problem? Could the server need a chkdsk ran on it or do I need to be looking at some area of the database server? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  • javascript to reference input IDs in php loop and pass values back to same input ID

    - by Smudger
    I have a form which is essentially an autocomplete input box. I can get this to work perfectly for a single text box. What I need to do is create unique input boxes by using a php for loop. This will use the counter $i to give each input box a unique name and id. The problem is that the unique value of the input box needs to be passed to the javascript. this will then pass the inputted data to the external php page and return the mysql results. As mentioned I have this working for a single input box but need assistance with passing the correct values to the javascript and returning it to correct input box. existing code for working solution (first row works only, all other rows update first row input box) <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function lookup(inputString) { if(inputString.length == 0) { // Hide the suggestion box. $('#suggestions').hide(); } else { $.post("autocompleteperson.php", {queryString: ""+inputString+""}, function(data){ if(data.length >0) { $('#suggestions').show(); $('#autoSuggestionsList').html(data); } }); } } // lookup function fill(thisValue) { $('#inputString').val(thisValue); setTimeout("$('#suggestions').hide();", 200); } </script> </head> <body> <form name="form1" id="form1" action="addepartment.php" method="post"> <table> <? for ( $i = 1; $i <=10; $i++ ) { ?> <tr> <td> <? echo $i; ?></td> <td> <div> <input type="text" size="30" value="" id="inputString" onkeyup="lookup(this.value);" onblur="fill();" /> </div> <div class="suggestionsBox" id="suggestions" style="display: none;"> <img src="upArrow.png" style="position: relative; top: -12px; left: 20px;" alt="upArrow" /> <div class="suggestionList" id="autoSuggestionsList"> &nbsp; </div> </div> </td> </tr> <? } ?> </table> </body> </html> code for autocompleteperson.php is: $query = $db->query("SELECT fullname FROM Persons WHERE fullname LIKE '$queryString%' LIMIT 10"); if($query) { while ($result = $query ->fetch_object()) { echo '<li onClick="fill(\''.$result->fullname.'\');">'.$result->fullname.'</li>'; } } in order to get it to work for all rows, I include the counter $i in each of the file names as below: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function lookup(inputString<? echo $i; ?>) { if(inputString<? echo $i; ?>.length == 0) { // Hide the suggestion box. $('#suggestions<? echo $i; ?>').hide(); } else { $.post("autocompleteperson.php", {queryString: ""+inputString<? echo $i; ?>+""}, function(data){ if(data.length >0) { $('#suggestions<? echo $i; ?>').show(); $('#autoSuggestionsList<? echo $i; ?>').html(data); } }); } } // lookup function fill(thisValue) { $('#inputString<? echo $i; ?>').val(thisValue); setTimeout("$('#suggestions<? echo $i; ?>').hide();", 200); } </script> </head> <body> <form name="form1" id="form1" action="addepartment.php" method="post"> <table> <? for ( $i = 1; $i <=10; $i++ ) { ?> <tr> <td> <? echo $i; ?></td> <td> <div> <input type="text" size="30" value="" id="inputString<? echo $i; ?>" onkeyup="lookup(this.value);" onblur="fill();" /> </div> <div class="suggestionsBox" id="suggestions<? echo $i; ?>" style="display: none;"> <img src="upArrow.png" style="position: relative; top: -12px; left: 20px;" alt="upArrow" /> <div class="suggestionList" id="autoSuggestionsList<? echo $i; ?>"> &nbsp; </div> </div> </td> </tr> <? } ?> </table> </body> </html> The autocomplete suggestion works (although always shown on first row) but when selecting the data always returns to row 1, even if input was on row 5. I have a feeling this has to do with the fill() but not sure? is it due the the autocomplete page code? or does the fill referencing ThisValue have something to do with it. example of this page (as above) can be found here Thanks for the assistance, much appreciated. UPDATE - LOLO <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function lookup(i, inputString) { if(inputValue.length == 0) { // Hide the suggestion box. $('#suggestions' + i).hide(); } else { $.post("autocompleteperson.php", {queryString: ""+inputString+""}, function(data){ if(data.length >0) { $('#suggestions' + i).show(); $('#autoSuggestionsList' + i).html(data); } }); } } // lookup function fill(i, thisValue) { $('#inputString' + i).val(thisValue); setTimeout("$('#suggestions' + i).hide();", 200); } </script> </head> <body> <form name="form1" id="form1" action="addepartment.php" method="post"> <table> <? for ( $i = 1; $i <=10; $i++ ) { ?> <tr> <td> <? echo $i; ?></td> <td> <div> <input type="text" size="30" value="" id="inputString<?php echo $i; ?>" onkeyup="lookup(this.value);" onblur="fill();" /> </div> <div class="suggestionsBox" id="suggestions<? echo $i; ?>" style="display: none;"> <img src="upArrow.png" style="position: relative; top: -12px; left: 20px;" alt="upArrow" /> <div class="suggestionList" id="autoSuggestionsList<? echo $i; ?>"> &nbsp; </div> </div> </td> </tr> <? } ?> </table> </body> </html> google chrome catched the following errors: first line on input, second line on loosing focus

  • What is the best way to design a table with an arbitrary id?

    - by P.Brian.Mackey
    I have the need to create a table with a unique id as the PK. The ID is a surrogate key. Originally, I had a natural key, but requirement changes have undermined this idea. Then, I considered adding an auto incrementing identity. But, this presents problems. A. I can't specify my own ID. B. The ID's are difficult to reset. Both of these together make it difficult to copy over this table with new data or move the table across domains, e.g. Dev to QA. I need to refer to these ID's from the front end, JavaScript...so they must not change. So, the only way I am aware of to meet all these challenges is to make a GUID ID. This way, I can overwrite the ID's when I need to or I can generate a new one without concern for order (E.G. an int based id would require I know the last inserted ID). Is a GUID the best way to accomplish my goals? Considering that a GUID is a string and joining on a string is an expensive task, is there a better way?

  • jquery ui get id of child element of dragged element, when dropped

    - by Catfish
    I've read through many of the drag and drop threads on SO and i haven't found one that tells me how to get the child element id of the dragged element, when the dragged element is dropped. For example if you have <div id='drag'> <img id="something"/>//how do i get this id when #drag is dropped? </div> <div id='drop'> </div> and the js $('#drag').draggable({ containment: '#content', scrollSensitivity: 60, revert: 'invalid', cursor: 'move' }); $('#drop').droppable({ accept: '#albumImgs li', activeClass: 'dropContainerOpen', drop: function(event, ui) { var fileName = $(ui.draggable.attr('alt')); console.log(fileName); } });

  • MySQL, C++: Retrieving auto-increment ID

    - by Thomas Matthews
    I have a table with an auto-incrementing ID. After inserting a new row, I would like to retrieve the new ID. I found an article that used the MySQL function LAST_INSERT_ID(). The article says to create a new query and submit it. I'm using MySQL Connector C++, Windows XP and Vista, and Visual Studio 9. Here are my questions: Is there an API, for the connector, that will fetch the ID out of the record? Does the result set, after an insert/append, contain the new ID? The LAST_INSERT_ID is MySQL specific. Is there an SQL standard method for obtaining the new ID?

  • regenerate the ID row in a MySQL Table with a Mysql's Script or PHP

    - by DomingoSL
    Hello, i have a database fill with information of the users who use my webpage. The table as many MySql tables have the ID parameters who is autoincrement. The issue is that when somebody eliminate his account from the site, in the database remain a jump in the sequence that i dont want cuz i have a script who fail if find some jump in the ID. Ex. ID Name PASS 1 Jhon 1234 2 Max 2233 3 Jorge 2232 If Max get out and a new user go in, this is what will happend. ID Name PASS 1 Jhon 1234 4 NewU 1133 3 Jorge 2232 So what is the best way to erase some body from the data base in order to avoid this isuue, or if is not a way, its posible to do a PHP or MySql script who eliminate all the contents in the ID row and regenerate it in order? • Handling ID's with db4o and ASP.NET MVC2

    - by Craig McGuff
    So, i'm looking at the TekPub sample for ASP.NET MVC2 (http://mvcstarter.codeplex.com/) using DB4o and there are a bunch of templates to create controllers etc, the generated code looks like: public ActionResult Details(int id) { var item = _session.Single<Account>(x=>x.ID == id); return View(item); } Now, my understanding is that using DB4o or a simliar object database that ID's are not required, so how/what exactly do I pass to enable this kind of templated code to function? UPDATE: Both answers were useful, I have modifed the templates to use GUID as the ID. I will add any relevant code/notes here once I see how it works out.

  • Getting ID of a cloned element

    - by Haris
    I'm using jQuery draggable and droppable. I'm cloning the draggable widget on drop event of droppable. I want to fetch the ID of the cloned element which will be sent to the the application with the AJAX request. I'm unable to fetch the ID. console.log returns blank string. var dropElem = ui.draggable.html(); var clone = $(dropElem).clone(); var widgetType = $(clone).attr('id'); $(this).append(clone); Also, I want to change the ID of the cloned element on the response event of the ajax request. How do I specially change the ID of the cloned event after it has been appended?

  • Count Upwards for ID jQuery

    - by Tom
    Hi Guys, I have the following HTML structure <div id="test-1-yay"></div> ... bunch of code ... <div id="test-2-yay"></div> ... bunch of code ... <div id="test-3-yay"></div> I was wondering how I can use jQuery to basically identify each of these "id's" and then apply some jQuery to them ? I'm new to this so little unsure ? Something like if $('#test-1-yay' || '#test-2-yay' || '#test-3-yay') { do stuff to all ID's } But the prob is I want this to continue as it could go to #test-201-yay, #test-202-yay etc ? Thx

  • How to handle null {id} on route?

    - by MattSlay
    What if a user hits my site with http://www.mysite.com/Quote/Edit rather than http://www.mysite.com/Quote/Edit/1000 In other words, they do not specify a value for {id}. If they do not, I want to display a nice "Not Found" page, since they did not give an ID. I currentl handle this by accepting a nullable int as the parameter in the Controller Action and it works fine. However, I'm curious if there a more standard MVC framework way of handling this, rather than the code I presently use (see below). Is a smoother way to handle this, or is this pretty mush the right way to do it? [HttpGet] public ActionResult Edit(int? id) { if (id == null) return View("QuoteNotFound"); int quoteId = (int)id; var viewModel = new QuoteViewModel(this.UserId); viewModel.LoadQuote(quoteId); if (viewModel.QuoteNo > 0) { return View("Create", viewModel.Quote.Entity); } else return View("QuoteNotFound"); }

  • Setting id to a panel control in gridview

    - by mariki
    I have a panel control in gridview's template. I need to hide/unhide panel in javascript function, for that i need to pass panel's id to the javascript. The problem is that all panels have the same id in gridview, so I need to set unique id to each panel. I tried to do: <asp:Panel id= "Panel_<%# Eval("ID")%>" and some other variations but always get an error. The panel contains some other controls, I need it to be server side because I need to set at code-behind (after checking if user is authenticated) What can I do? p.s. It doesn't have to be Panel, any other control that I can find with Findcontrol and can hold other controls.

  • MVC route with id and sub-action

    - by Dan Revell
    I can't figure out what I need to do with MVC routing to make this work Here's my one route: routes.MapHttpRoute( name: "DefaultApi", routeTemplate: "{controller}/{id}/{action}", defaults: new { id = RouteParameter.Optional, action = RouteParameter.Optional } ); The request /Shipments/ works great. The request /Shipments/3/Packages works great. The request /Shipments/3 however fails with the error: Multiple actions were found that match the request: System.Linq.IQueryable`1[Api.Controllers.RequisitionsController+PackageRequisitionWithTracking] GetPackageRequisitions(Int32) on type Api.Controllers.RequisitionsController Api.Models.ShipmentRequisition GetShipmentRequisitions(Int32) on type Api.Controllers.RequisitionsController It can't seem to differentiate between: public ShipmentRequisition GetShipmentRequisitions(int id) and [ActionName("Packages")] public IQueryable<PackageRequisitionWithTracking> GetPackageRequisitions(int id) I would have thought the lack of action name on the get shipment by id would allow that route to work.

  • Reusing Session ID

    - by lockedscope
    I am confused with the following sentence(with bold) from Microsoft about Session IDs. It seems to say the obvious, if we reuse a valid Session ID then we do not need to create a new Session ID. Am i missing something? What is reusing in this context? Using the Session ID as an identifier in database or etc is reusing or what? Therefore, you can reuse session IDs for several reasons. For example, if you reuse session IDs, you do not have to do the following: Create a new cryptographically unique session ID when you are presented with a valid session ID. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=899918

  • How to recertify Notes .id file if you can't get into Notes Admin

    - by Ben
    I've got a bit of a catch-22 situation here. My company used to use Notes, but migrated to Exchange several years ago. As such the Notes server was mothballed. I now need to get back into Notes to get some data from an old app we had. The trouble is, all my .id files have expired. I can't recertify them, as I can't log into Notes Admin - because the .id has expired. Is there any way round this? Thanks, Ben

  • Windows 8 Login Password Out of Sync with Windows Live ID

    - by Israel Lopez
    I'm working with a computer that has setup a local account connected under Windows Live ID. The user can login to Live ID (like hotmail) from another computer with the correct credentials. However from the Windows 8 computer using the correct password it indicates. That password is incorrect. Make sure you're using the password for you Mircrosoft Account. You can always reset it at account.live.com/password/reset. Now, I've used NTPASSWD to reset the password, but it seems that since its not a "Local Account" it wont take the new password or blank one. This account also has a "PIN" the user who also has forgotten it. I also tried to enable/password set the local Administrator account but it does not show up for login. Any ideas?

  • Drivers for NVIDIA 520M not working in Ubuntu 12.04

    - by Don
    I am aware that this is nominally a duplicate question, however I've read the other questions and haven't been able to resolve my problem after many hours and attempts, so please don't delete it. Additionally, it seems like many answers to the other questions are specifically dependent on certain situations. My situation being different from the others I found represented, here's my question. Until last night, I had Ubuntu 12.04 installed with Wubi, and it ran ok, though slowly and with occasional hangs. So I partitioned the drive and installed 12.04 in its own partition. Now when I start it, I am stuck using 2D. I believe this is an NVIDIA bug. My NVIDIA card is a GT 520M and my machine has Optimus. Additional Drivers only displays my wireless driver. Going to System Settings Details Graphics shows Driver:Unknown, Experience:Standard. I downloaded the driver from the NVIDIA website, and ran the installer with no errors, except that the "distribution-provided pre-install script failed". After rebooting, my screen was stuck at 640X480, which was fixed by editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf However, I still was stuck in 2D, and nothing else had changed either. A thread suggested something called Bumblebee. I tried that, and when I ran optirun firefoxI got a frozen blank screen. Following another suggestion, I checked the BIOS to try and disable Optimus. I found and ran myriad other commands to try and fix the problem and nothing changed. Now I have just done a clean re-install of Ubuntu. From there, I: Installed all the updates Downloaded the NVIDIA driver Installed it Got screen stuck at 640X480, fixed in xorg.conf. To recap the problem: I can't get the NVIDIA drivers working I am stuck using 2D I'm an idiot I think if the first one is solved, the solution to the second will naturally follow. If you need me to provide any other information, I'd be happy to. From what I've seen in other threads, I think this information may help: lsmod: dh@donsMachine:~$ lsmod Module Size Used by nvidia 12353161 0 snd_hda_codec_hdmi 32474 1 snd_hda_codec_realtek 223867 1 • Better documentation for tasks waiting on resources

    - by SQLOS Team
    The sys.dm_os_waiting_tasks DMV contains a wealth of useful information about tasks waiting on a resource, but until now detailed information about the resource being consumed - sys.dm_os_waiting_tasks.resource_description - hasn't been documented, apart from a rather self-evident "Description of the resource that is being consumed."   Thanks to a recent Connect suggestion this column will get more information added. • MAC OSX 10.5.8 need to save rsync password with ssh-copy-id

    - by Brady
    Hello all, I'll start by saying I'm very new to MAC but comfortable in using the command line thanks to using a linux a lot. I currently have rsync setup to run between a MAC OSX 10.5.8 server to a Linux Centos 5.5 Server. This is the command I'm running on the MAC server: rsync -avhe ssh "/Path/To/Data" [email protected]:data/ As it does it prompts for a password but I need it to save the password. After looking around I need to use: ssh-keygen -t dsa save the passkey and then move it over to the Linux server using: ssh-copy-id -i .ssh/id_dsa.pub [email protected] But ssh-copy-id doesnt seem to exist on the MAC server. How do I copy this key over? I've tried searching for the answer myself but the help seems to be all over the place for this.. Any help is greatly appreciated. Scott
