  • Help with connection string

    So I'm trying to connect to my database at the specified location, and the connection is established as long as the db at the same location specified at DataSource field, but what if I tried to distribute my application, the file path will change and will lead to errors I want to avoid. Here is my connstring: string connstring = @"Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\Users\PC1\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Test\Test\bin\Debug\MyDatabase01.accdb;Persist Security Info=true"; Is there anyway I can define DataSource location to be at the same folder?.

  • How do I detect a connection break using MessageQueue

    My application written in C# makes use of the MessageQueue class in .NET for communicating messages with another remote application and the MessageQueue should always be "connected" (heartbeat present) with the remote messageQueue under all circumstances. If it is not "connected", then it signals that something is wrong and my application will need to perform some actions such as updating an event log. Is there a method in the MessageQueue class that can be used to detecting such breaks in connection?

Quercus is providing ISO8859 encoding in default and all database in UTF-8 is not shown properly like ???. If anybody know the way to set Quercus db connection encoding to UTF-8, please help me.     When working with NHibernate and Sql Compact in a Windows Form application I am wondering what is the best practice for managing connections. With SQL CE I have read that you should keep your connection open vs closing it as one would typically do with standard SQL. If that is the case and your using a IoC, would you make your repositories lifetime be singletons so they exist forever or dispose of them after you perform a "Unit of Work". Also is there a way to determine the number of connections open to Sql CE?

  • Java Socket Connection is flooding network OR resulting in high ping

    i have a little problem with my java socket code. I'm writing an android client application which is sending data to a java multithreaded socket server on my pc through direct(!) wireless connection. It works fine but i want to improve it for mobile applications as it is very power consuming by now. When i remove two special lines in my code, the cpu usage of my mobile device (htc one x) is totally okay but then my connection seems to have high ping rates or something like that... Here is a server code snippet where i receive the clients data: while(true) { try { .... Heres the client part, where i send my data in a while loop: private void networking() { try { if(client != null) { .... out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); .... } } catch .... when i write it this why, i send data everytime the while loop gets executed.. when sendQueue is empty, a null "Object" will be send. this results in "high" network traffic and in "high" cpu usage. BUT: all send comments are received nearly immediately. when i change the code to following: while(true) ... if(sendQueue.peek() != null) { out.writeObject(sendQueue.poll()); } ... the cpu usage is totally okay but i'm getting some laggs.. the commands do not arrive fast enough.. as i said, it works fine (besides cpu usage) if i'm sending data(with that null objects) every while execution. but i'm sure that this is very rough coding style because i'm kind of flooding the network. any hints? what am i doing wrong??     I am trying to test a simple WCF tcp.net client/server app. The WCF service is being hosted on Windows 7 IIS. I have enabled TCP.net in IIS. I granted liberal security privileges to service app by configuring an app pool with admin rights and set the IIS service application to run in the context. I enabled tracing on the service app to troubleshoot. Whenever I run a simple method call against the service from the WCF client app, I get the following exception: "Stream Security is required at http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing/anonymous, but no security context was negotiated. This is likely caused by the remote endpoint missing a StreamSecurityBindingElement from its binding."   • What happens when Npgsql connection pool reaches Max

    Both the name of the connection string parameter and this blog post - http://fxjr.blogspot.co.uk/2010/04/npgsql-connection-pool-explained.html - lead me to believe that Npgsql wont exceed the MaxPoolSize value set in the connection string. However the docs (http://npgsql.projects.postgresql.org/docs/manual/UserManual.html) say "Max size of connection pool. Pooled connections will be disposed of when returned to the pool if the pool contains more than this number of connections. Default: 20" This suggests that the pool can actually grow larger than MaxPoolSize and it is in fact just a level at which Npgsql starts to aggressively remove connections from the pool as soon as they are returned. I've been searching to try and find an answer but I can find out exactly what happens when you reach MaxPoolSize. Anyone else know? edit: I should add we are using Npgsql 2.0.6.0 due to another dependency being supported only up to that version.

  • Can CultureInfo.CurrentCulture differ per application pool?

    I'm having trouble with CultureInfo in our ASP.NET web application. Our web application returns a different culture, depending on which application pool it is in. In application pool A, it is en-US, but in application pool B, it's nl-BE. I'd like it to be nl-BE, but can't find where to change this (IIS6 by the way). I'm not even sure if this can be changed on an app-pool level. I'm checking with CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.Name. Is it possible to change this for an application pool? Or what else could influence this? In the regional settings of the server, we have selected 'Dutch (Belgium)', which translates to nl-BE, I believe. So where could this application pool be getting the en-US?

  • Problem with bluetooth on android 2.1 (samsung spica i5700) where pairing works but connection does

    I have a Samsung Spica i5700 which I already have updated to Android 2.1. I am using the phone with an application called Run.GPS (http://www.rungps.net). This application logs data such as GPS position, route, speed, bearing etc. It can also log heartrate provided the user has a Zephyr HxM bluetooth heart rate monitor ("HxM"), which I do have. I can pair the HxM to the phone through the standard bluetooth utility. I'm prompted for the PIN, which I enter and the device is shown as 'Paired but not connected'. In the Run.GPS application itself, I click on 'Connect Heartrate Monitor'. This times out after about 30 seconds and the error message is 'Could not connect to heartrate monitor. Please try other settings'. I used a friend's HTC Windows Mobile as a control device to see if the HxM works there. It does. The Run.GPS application automatically sets the baud rate (initially to 9600 IIRC, though the connection also worked with higher baud rates) and it is possible to choose between various COM ports as well as a .Net COM port. I did some testing on my Spica Android, to try to find out why the bluetooth connection doesn't work. Below are some log files that I connected over adb when I clicked on 'Connect to Heartrate Monitor' in the Run.GPS application. I would be interested in any tips (including if I'm posting to the wrong forum here ;-)) - whether or not it's possible to experiment with the baud rate in Android etc. I still don't know if the problem is with the Run.GPS application (I've posted already on the development forum there) or with Android 2.1. I checked out another application - Endomondo - which is also a sport tracking application which supports heartrate monitor only with the HxM. There, what looked like exactly the same error occurred - I clicked on 'Connect Zephyr HxM'. For a few seconds I was shown the 'Connecting...' status, but then it timed out into 'Not Connected'. I'm thus tending towards looking at Android for the problem.     Hi I've published my new website , In my computer it works fine and no problem , But in the Server I when some user connect at the same time it crash . Here are my questions : 1- Is it a problem if while ConnectionState is doing opening , we Open the connection again ? 2- What I've missed , that i receive this error ?
