  I have a WCF service defined as following: [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)] [ServiceBehavior(IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults = true, InstanceContextMode = InstanceContextMode.PerCall)] public partial class FrontEndService : IFrontEndService However, most of the time (but not always -_-) InstanceContext.Current is null, as well as HttpContext.Current and OperationContext.Current is also null. What am I missing? What I want to do is store some data in HttpContext.Current.Items or a similar collection that exists for the length of the request.

• Dereferencing within a buffer

  Let's say I had a char pointer pointing to a buffer that contained these values (in hex): 12 34 56 78 00 00 80 00 I want to modify the last two bytes to a short value of 42. So I would think I would have to do something like this: (short)*(pointer+6)=42; The compiler doesn't complain but it does not do what I'm expecting it to do. Can someone tell me the correct way to assign the value?

I read somewhere this solution, using the accumulation buffer: glAccum(GL_MULT, 0.90); glAccum(GL_ACCUM, 0.10); glAccum(GL_RETURN, 1.0); glFlush(); at the end of the render loop. But nothing happens... What I am missing ?

  I'm trying to build a basic POP3 mail client in C/++, but I've run into a bit of an issue. Since you have to define the buffer size when building the program, but a message can be arbitrarily large, how do you, say, get the mail server to send it to you in parts? And if this isn't the correct means of solving the problem, what is? And while I'm here, can anyone confirm for me that RFC 2822 is still the current document defining email layout? Thanks

  According to the Access (2003) documentation, when you delete a record, it's placed in a buffer, then the BeforeDeleteConfirm event is raised, then the AfterConfirmDelete ad Delete events. In my table if a record is deleted, I need to add one of its field values (a quantity value) to a field in another table. I tried setting the quantity to a private variable in the Current event, but as soon as I delete click delete, it looks like the Current event fires again and resets my variable. How can I access the value of a field in a deleted record?

• Perfmon - Redirector current command 0 result

  I'd like to monitor how many SMB connections there are at any given time for my 2008R2 file server, but when I add Redirector/Current Commands in perfmon, I get 0 results. This KB from Microsoft isn't exactly helpful either: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2523382 It mearly confirms there is an issue, but doesn't provide a work around.   Does anyone know if it's possible (or know of an existing vim script or plugin) that can create a "status bar" that shows the name of the current class and method (or function) I'm editing? I'm imagining that it would plug into the syntax parser for the filetype of the current buffer, and display a breadcrumb trail to show you what you're currently editing.   If I use send() on a non-blocking tcp socket in Linux will it return EAGAIN for anything other than a send buffer full condition? I basically need to decide if I want to use the socket send buffer as the only buffer for my app or if I need my own user space buffer to feed the socket buffer.
