  • .NET HttpListener: when registering both HTTP & HTTPS I get "conflicts with an existing registration

    - by Greg
I'm trying to use .NET HttpListener in a C# project. When I register my prefix "http://*:8080/" it does not seem to work for HTTPS urls (i.e. doesn't pick them up). When I try the following code to register both the HTTP and HTTPS versions of the prefix however I get the error: "Failed to listen on prefix 'https://:8080/' because it conflicts with an existing registration on the machine."* How can I get my prefix working for both HTTP & HTTPS? private HttpListener _listener; // Create prefixes var prefixes = new List<string>(); prefixes.Add("http://*:8080/"); prefixes.Add("https://*:8080/"); // Create HttpListener _listener = new HttpListener(); foreach (string prefix in prefixes) { _listener.Prefixes.Add(prefix); } _listener.Start(); // <== ERROR HERE thanks

  • Sys undefined for HTTPS url in IE8

    - by Dhana
I just discovered a rather peculiar issue in IE8 for a HTTPS link. Every time the page tries to access the HTTPS link, it produces an error. This happens only in IE8 and nothing else. Any idea what's going on? I found some items that said that means the files were not loaded, hence the issue and tried some fixes recommended, but they haven't worked so far. This is a .NET site by the way. https://www.beckshoes.com/cart/cart.aspx Message: 'Sys' is undefined Line: 70 Char: 1 Code: 0 URI: https://www.beckshoes.com/cart/cart.aspx Message: 'Sys' is undefined Line: 319 Char: 1 Code: 0 URI: https://www.beckshoes.com/cart/cart.aspx

  • Errors when connecting to HTTPS using HTTP::Net routines (Ruby on Rails)

    - by jaycode
    Hi all, the code below explains the problem in detail #this returns error Net::HTTPBadResponse url = URI.parse('https://sitename.com') response = Net::HTTP.start(url.host, url.port) {|http| http.get('/remote/register_device') } #this works url = URI.parse('http://sitename.com') response = Net::HTTP.start(url.host, url.port) {|http| http.get('/remote/register_device') } #this returns error Net::HTTPBadResponse response = Net::HTTP.post_form(URI.parse('https://sitename.com/remote/register_device'), {:text => 'hello world'}) #this returns error Errno::ECONNRESET (Connection reset by peer) response = Net::HTTP.post_form(URI.parse('https://sandbox.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt'), {:text => 'hello world'}) #this works response = Net::HTTP.post_form(URI.parse('http://sitename.com/remote/register_device'), {:text => 'hello world'}) So... how do I send POST parameters to https://sitename.com or https://sandbox.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt in this example? Further information, I am trying to get this working in Rails: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/NetworkingInternet/Conceptual/StoreKitGuide/VerifyingStoreReceipts/VerifyingStoreReceipts.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40008267-CH104-SW1

  • Tomcat Clustering and HTTPS Issue

    - by Angelo
Hi I have two instances of Tomcat 6 with content accessible via HTTP and HTTPS for other pages. I have configured the instances this way: 1) Instance one to listen on port 8080(Http) and 8443(Https) 2) Instance two to listen on port 7080(Http) and 7443(Https) I have mod_proxy configured with Apache 2.2 to do clustering. The requests are coming in properly and all works well for HTTP traffic but when you are in the app and it becomes HTTPS then i get the page cannot be found when tomcat tries to serve the page. Now if I access the two tomcat instances directly bypassing the load balancer then everything is fine. So http/https is configured properly on tomcat but not on Apache. I have a feeling i must configure Apache to handle this(or mod_proxy). Thanks,

  • Rewrite all URL requests to https://www.example.com/$1

    - by xylar
I have two domains, example.com and example.co.uk, that use the same application on my server. I would like to rewrite the address of the URL depending on what the user types in. The only URLs I want are https://www.example.com and https://www.example.co.uk In my .htaccess file I have the following: # Turn on URL rewriting RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.co.uk$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.example.co.uk/$1 [L,R=301] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.example.com/$1 [L,R=301] If I goto http://www.example.com it doesn't add the https, if I goto http://example.com it does. What is the best way of making the ReWriteCond match the www url?

  • Reverse proxy a directory through IIS 6 with HTTPS

    - by John P
I have an asp.net based website running on IIS 6 that needs to incorporate a java application running on the same server on a different port. The requests will be coming in via https and I need to invisibly (preserving the https session) proxy domain.com/ over to domain.com:8080/. Does IIS have a built-in mechanism for doing this? If not, are there any reliable free/open source ISAPI extensions that allow it? Thanks in advance

  • How can I use VirtualDocumentRoot to serve the www subdomain with SSL enabled?

    - by mdgreenwald
I am able to serve http://www.domain.com and http://domain.com. Also https://domain.com works fine too. But not https://www.domain.com for some reason this doesn't work. I even created a www.domain.com in my sites-availible folder and also enabled it. I reloaded the configuration and yet it still doesn't work. I have a wildcard certificate so that is NOT the problem. <IfModule mod_ssl.c> <VirtualHost *:443> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName *.domain.com:443 ServerAlias www.domain.com VirtualDocumentRoot /var/www/%0 Thanks for any help.

  • Getting "<kml:..." everywhere, updating a Kml file

    - by Rafe Lavelle
I'm reading in a Kml file, changing the placemarks' names, and saving it again. var KmlFile = XDocument.Load("C:\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\GeotagService\\Kml\\Photographs.kml"); XNamespace KmlNamespace = "http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2"; // find the Placemarks in the Photos folder IEnumerable<XElement> Placemarks = KmlFile.Element(KmlNamespace + "kml").Element(KmlNamespace + "Document").Element(KmlNamespace + "Folder").Elements(KmlNamespace + "Placemark"); foreach (XElement p in Placemarks){ p.Element(KmlNamespace + "name").Value = "testing"; } KmlFile.Save("C:\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\GeotagService\\Kml\\Photographs.kml"); When I save it however, every element is prefixed with <kml:, like this: <kml:Folder> <kml:name>Photos</kml:name> <kml:open>1</kml:open> <kml:Placemark> <kml:name>testing</kml:name> <kml:LookAt> <kml:longitude>-10.02717694938161</kml:longitude> <kml:latitude>53.48672543547379</kml:latitude> <kml:altitude>0</kml:altitude> </kml:LookAt> <kml:styleUrl>#msn_ylw-pushpin1</kml:styleUrl> <kml:Point> <kml:coordinates>-10.02867619360582,53.48651240326751,0</kml:coordinates> </kml:Point> </kml:Placemark>... Tomalak's comment on this question about blank xmlns gives me a clue that it might be inconsistencies between the namespaces of the document and the elements, but I can't see how I'm doing that. Anyone know?

  • Why does httpd handle requests for wrong hostnames in SSL mode?

    - by Manuel
I have an SSL-enabled virtual host for my sites at example.com:10443 Listen 10443 <VirtualHost _default_:10443> ServerName example.com:10443 ServerAdmin [email protected] ErrorLog "/var/log/httpd/error_log" TransferLog "/var/log/httpd/access_log" SSLEngine on SSLProtocol all -SSLv2 SSLCipherSuite HIGH:MEDIUM:!aNULL:!MD5 SSLCertificateFile "/etc/ssl/private/example.com.crt" SSLCertificateKeyFile "/etc/ssl/private/example.com.key" SSLCertificateChainFile "/etc/ssl/private/sub.class1.server.ca.pem" SSLCACertificateFile "/etc/ssl/private/StartCom.pem" </VirtualHost> Browsing to https://example.com:10443/ works as expected. However, also browsing to https://subdomain.example.com:10443/ (with DNS set) shows me the same pages (after SSL certificate warning). I would have expected the directive ServerName example.com:10443 to reject all connection attempts to other server names. How can I tell the virtual host not to serve requests for URLs other than the top-level one?

  • Different result with reverse proxy apache and lighttpd.

    - by Danny
I have an Apache server running in reverse proxy mode in front of a Tomcat java server. It handle HTTP and HTTPS and send those request back and forth to the Tomcat server on an internal HTTP port. I'm trying to replace the reverse proxy with Lighttpd. Here's the problem: while asking for the same HTTPS url, while using Apache as the reverse proxy, the Tomcat server redirect (302) to an HTTPS page but with Lighttpd it redirect to the same page in HTTP (not HTTPS). What does Lighttpd could do different in order to have a different result from the backend server? In theory, using Apache or Lighttpd server as a reverse proxy should not change anything... but it does. Any idea? I'll try to find something by sniffing the traffic on the backend tomcat server.

  • Invalid AuthenticityToken everywhere

    - by bwizzy
    I have a rails app that I just deployed which is generating Invalid AuthenticityToken errors anywhere a form is submitted. The app uses subdomains as account names and will also eventually allow for a custom domain to be entered. I have an entry in production.rb to allow for cross-domain session handling. The problem is that you can't login / or submit any form because everything raises an Invalid AuthenticityToken error. The issue looks similar but not the same as http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1201901/rails-invalid-authenticity-token-after-deploy plus I'm not using mongrel. I've tried clearing cookies in the browser, and restarting passenger but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? The server is running nginx + passenger 2.3.11, and Rails 2.3.5. #production.rb config.action_controller.session[:domain] = '.domain.com' #environment.rb config.action_controller.session = { :session_key => '_app_session', :secret => '.... nums and chars .....' }

  • Tortoise SVN Icon Overlays Displaying Everywhere...Why?

    - by jwalkerjr
Update: So, this turns out to have nothing to do with Tortoise SVN. I use Mozy.com for off-site backups and their new version includes these icon overlays. They can be disabled via the config options...or see here http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?p=1385433. Thanks @OS for the answer. Been using Tortoise SVN for some time on my Vista box. Within the last few days (and after recently upgrading to 1.5.4) the icon overlays are displaying on all files. My exclude path is: * My include paths are: C:\Users\jw\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\SVNProjects* C:\Users\jw\Documents\VB Projects\SVNProjects* I haven't touched those settings in months. Any ideas? Help. Thanks.

  • forwardfor information is missing

    - by FAFA
I use following configuration to load balance https connections, using haproxy 1.4.8. SSL offloading is done by apache. listen ssl_to_waf 192.168.101.54:443 mode tcp balance roundrobin option ssl-hello-chk server wafA 192.168.101.61:444 check listen ssl_from_waf 192.168.101.61:445 balance roundrobin option forwardfor server webA 192.168.101.46:80 check For HTTP requests this works great, requests are distributed to my Apache servers just fine. But for HTTPS request, I lose the "forwardfor" information. I need to save the client IP address. How can I use HAproxy to load balance across a number of SSL servers, allowing those servers to know the client's IP address?

  • SSL connection error during handshake on Windows Server 2008 R2

    - by Thomas
I have a Windows 2008 R2 Server that runs a HTTPS Tunneling service. The software uses a certificate that is provided via the Windows certificate store. • How do I force SSL for some URLs and force non-SSL for all others?

    - by brad
I'd like to ensure that certain URLs on my site are always accessed via HTTPS while all other URLs are accessed via HTTP. I can get either case working in my .htaccess file, however if I enable both, then I get infinite redirects. My .htaccess file is: <IfModule mod_expires.c> # turn off the module for this directory ExpiresActive off </IfModule> Options +FollowSymLinks AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .csv RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/?registration(.*)$ /register$1 [R=301,L] # Force SSL for certain URL's RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} (login|register|account) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L] # Force non-SSL for certain URL's RewriteCond %{HTTPS} on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !(login|register|account) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L] # Force files ending in X to use same protocol as initial request RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|jpeg|jpe|png|ico|css|js)$ - [S=1] # Use index.php as the controller RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.(exe|css|js|jpe?g|gif|png|pdf|doc|txt|rtf|xls|swf|htc|ico)$ [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(/js.*)$ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php [NC,L]

  • Rails unknown action suddenly everywhere

    - by Joe
The weird thing is that my app was working perfectly on Sat, and when I check it out on Monday (after doing nothing to it) I kept getting this problem: This behaviour is only happening on my production server. When I try to login or create a new user or do something that interacts with a form I am getting an unknown action error. A simple retrieval of rows does not throw this error however. I don't have all CRUD operations in most of my controllers because it's not necessary - but Rails always looks for the one that doesn't exist - it seams so anyway. If I make a mistake in the form that would normally throw a validation message to the user it will throw this error too, does that mean it has something to do with the model too (I'm not too Rails experienced and didn't know if that would be the case or not)? This is a general error I am getting - I have super_exception_notifier gem installed, so that's what all the extra params are. • How to secure both root domain and wildcard subdomains with one SSL cert?

    - by Question Overflow
I am trying to generate a self-signed SSL certificate to secure both example.com and *.example.com. Looking at the answers to this and this questions, there seems to be an equal number of people agreeing and disagreeing whether this could be done. However, the website from a certification authority seems to suggest that it could be done. Currently, these are the changes added to my openssl configuration file: [req] req_extensions = v3_req [req_distinguished_name] commonName = example.com [v3_req] subjectAltName = @alt_names [alt_names] DNS.1 = example.com DNS.2 = *.example.com I tried the above configuration and generated a certificate. When navigating to https://example.com, it produces the usual warning that the cert is "self-signed". After acceptance, I navigate to https://abc.example.com and an additional warning is produced, saying that the certificate is only valid for example.com. The certificate details only listed example.com in the certificate hierarchy with no signs of any wildcard subdomain being present. I am not sure whether this is due to a misconfiguration or that the common name should have a wildcard or that this could not be done.

  • Two virtual host one with Domain name one with internal ip#?

Is it possible to have two virtual host configurations for the same server - one with internal ip address and one with domain name? Something like <VirtualHost {{internal-ipaddress}}:80> ....... </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost {{domain-name}}:80> ....... </VirtualHost> Note that the internal IP address and the domain name belong to the same server or same server instance. I am asking this to restrict some URLs for external users, redirect to https all external access and allow everything for internal users(without https)..

  • JSF h:outputStylesheet doesn't work everywhere

    - by s3rius
I'm currently learning Icefaces, now I'm trying to integrate a css file via h:OutputStylesheet into my code. I have a main page and a second page. Using outputStylesheet in my main page works well (and then I can also access the css in the second page, which I guess is intended). But when I try to integrate it in my second page it doesn't work at all. The code for both pages is basically identical. main page: <h:head></h:head> <h:body> <!-- this line works --> <h:outputStylesheet library="css" name="style.css" /> <!-- this line is only shown in red if the outputStylesheet from above is there --> <div class="red">This is red color in main page</div> </h:body> second page: <h:head></h:head> <h:body> <!-- this line doesn't work --> <h:outputStylesheet library="css" name="style.css" /> <!-- this line is only shown in red if the outputStylesheet in main page is there --> <div class="red">This is red color in second page</div> </h:body> I've made sure that I have h:body and h:head tags in both files. There's nothing more in the html pages except the standard doctype and xml version declarations. I've tried packing everything into h:forms, but that doesn't change anything. Can anyone explain to me what's going on?

  • Are WCF Services encrypted automatically if they go over SSL?

Basically, if I have a plain WCF Service over HTTPS is it automatically secure? [ServiceContract] public interface ICalc { [OperationContract] int add(int a, int b); } public class Calculator : ICalc { public int add(int a, int b) { return a + b; } } I figure the actual SOAP message isn't encrypted here, but is it still secure if I use https? Basically, if I use a basichttpbinding with no security settings in my config over https://www.myserver.com/services/Calc.svc is that secure?
