  • Problem configuring php-fpm with nginx

    - by Nisanio
First of all: I'm not an expert in configuring things. This is very new for me, so, my apologies in advance. At work we have a Centos server. The guy who worked here before installed nginx. We need to made a php site, so, obviously, I need to set up php and make it work with nginx. Making short a very long tale, I had to replace the nginx binary with a new one (because the older was compile without fast-cgi), and I had to recompile and install php (because the new version has fpm). Then I struggle with the config files, making this nginx.conf (not all the file) user php; location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /scripts$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } and uncomment some parameters in php-fpm (to much to detail here, but the important is that group and user are "php") I never could start the php-fpm with the instructions of the book sudo /usr/sbin/php-fpm start But after look at the net, I found this sudo /usr/local/sbin/php-fpm --fpm-config=/usr/local/etc/php-fpm.conf This worked (I think) I restarted nginx. But... nothings happens with php... My calls to php files (via firefox) doesn't even appear in the log (/opt/nginx/logs/error.log) I'm really, really exhausted and lost... Could anyone help me, pleaaase.... :( Thanks in advance

Who is visiting your website? How did they get there? Was it from a search engine? Email campaign? Are they downloading whitepapers, datasheets, presentations, software? Are they interested in attending one of your marketing events? Are you capturing these leads or which marketing campaign generated the lead? There are a lot of questions related to traffic on a website, and the answers to those questions can be found in your CRM system. Visitors who download marketing collateral are potential leads, so it is important to capture who they are, how they got there, where they went on the website and what they are looking for. Today's CRM@Oracle slidecast discusses how Oracle uses Siebel CRM to plan and execute marketing campaigns on our website, www.oracle.com, and capture the key information about who is downloading content or interested in attending one of our marketing events. The responses are captured, qualified, and if appropriate, a lead is generated. It all happens in Siebel CRM. CRM@Oracle Series: Web Marketing Integration Click here to learn more about Oracle CRM products and here to learn about other customers using Oracle CRM. Are you enjoying the CRM@Oracle Series? If you have a particular CRM area or function which you'd like to hear how Oracle implemented it internally, leave us a comment and we'll try to get it on our list.

  • Oracle OpenWorld Live 2012 Videos

    - by Chris Kawalek
The Oracle virtualization team is back from a very successful Oracle OpenWorld! Hopefully you were able to come to the show and talk with our virtualization experts at the demo booths or in our sessions. But if you didn't, you can get a summary of what we talked about from a number of short videos. In this post, we're going to highlight the Oracle OpenWorld Live videos, and in a future post we'll cover the videos we shot ourselves (once we get them all posted!). If you missed it, Oracle OpenWorld Live carried keynotes and interviews with all kinds of folks during the show. They also archived these segments so you can watch them at your leisure. I've gone through the videos and selected some that highlight virtualization: Edward Screven on mission critical clouds. Wim Coekaerts talks virtualization. Rex Wang on Oracle Cloud. Ronen Kofman on Oracle VM Templates. Chris Kawalek on Oracle's desktop virtualization software. Chris Kawalek discusses Oracle Sun Ray Clients. If we missed you this year, we hope to see you at OpenWorld 2013! -Chris

  • Is Oracle certified to run on VMWare?

    - by Mike Dietrich
This question in similar occurences gets asked during every Upgrade Workshop at least once. People would like to know if they can run an Oracle Database or Oracle Real Application Clusters or Oracle Grid Control or Oracle Fusion Middleware or ... in an VM environment with VMWare's virtualisation products. And the answer is: Yes, you can!! But ... there's a fine print you should take care on before setting up virtual environments with a different solution than XEN based Oracle VM. Please read Note:942852.1 - VMWare Certification for Oracle Products and Note:249212.1 - Support Position for Oracle Products Running on VMWare Virtualized Environments for further details: Support Status for VMware Virtualized Environments Oracle has not certified any of its products on VMware virtualized environments. Oracle Support will assist customers running Oracle products on VMware in the following manner: Oracle will only provide support for issues that either are known to occur on the native OS, or can be demonstrated not to be as a result of running on VMware. If a problem is a known Oracle issue, Oracle support will recommend the appropriate solution on the native OS. If that solution does not work in the VMware virtualized environment, the customer will be referred to VMware for support. When the customer can demonstrate that the Oracle solution does not work when running on the native OS, Oracle will resume support, including logging a bug with Oracle Development for investigation if required. If the problem is determined not to be a known Oracle issue, we will refer the customer to VMware for support. When the customer can demonstrate that the issue occurs when running on the native OS, Oracle will resume support, including logging a bug with Oracle Development for investigation if required. NOTE: Oracle has not certified any of its products on VMware. For Oracle RAC, Oracle will only accept Service Requests as described in this note on Oracle RAC 11.2.0.2 and later releases.

Provisioning my Oracle database instance to AWS EC2 RDB was easy. Just a few clicks! However, getting my connection to my Oracle cloud database was not as easy. A couple things that are not obvious (using Oracle SQL Developer): 1. Need to set up a database security group. 2. Need to use end point for the host name. This video is the best one on the internet to explain both points: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocFURuX0eEw

  • Do PHP-FPM (and other PHP handlers) need execute permissions on the PHP files they're serving?

    - by Andrew Cheong
I read in a post at Server Fault that PHP-FPM needs execute permissions. However, the answer in When creating a website, what permissions and directory structure? only grants read and write permissions to PHP-FPM. Maybe I don't quite understand how PHP handlers (or CGI in general) work, but the two claims seem contradictory to me. As I understand, when Apache / Nginx gets a request for foobar.php, it "passes" the file to an appropriate handler. That is, I imagine it's as if www-root (or apache or whomever the webserver's running as) were to run some command, /usr/sbin/php-fpm foobar.php Actually, no, that's naive, I just realized. PHP-FPM must be a running instance (if it's to be performant, and cache, etc.), so probably PHP-FPM is just being told, "Hey, quick, process this file for me!" In either case, I don't see why execute permissions are necessary. It's not like the webserver needs to literally execute the file, i.e. ./foobar.php Is the Server Fault answer simply mistaken?

  • "php: command not found" after changing PHP system files in OS X

    - by Aurelien Porte
I wanted to install Symfony on Mac OS X Lion. Apparently, as MAMP was already installed on my computer, there was a problem with the "timezone" field in the php.ini file. I can't remember exactly the error but basically, Symfony installation required a timezone like "Europe/Paris" but MAMP apparently changed that part. Well, it's very vague but I've seen on the web that other people had the same issue. So I tried one of the solution I found (without success) but: It didn't work. I can not use the php command anymore ("-bash: php: command not found"). I can not remember the exact commands I did to go back. Here are some potential relevant commands I found in my history and that correspond with the beginning of my problem, in this order: sudo mv /usr/bin/php /usr/bin/php-old sudo ln -s /Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/bin/php /usr/bin/php rm /usr/bin/php-old sudo cp php.ini.default /etc/php.ini rm php.ini but I don't know anymor in which repertory I was. sudo mv /usr/bin/php-old /usr/bin/php

End User Documentation Enhancements The following enhancements have been made to the documentation: New RETL Installation GuideNew in Release 13.2.4, the RETL Installation Guide includes complete instructions to install and configure RETL 13.2.4. Installation instructions were previously in the Programmer’s Guide. As part of this enhancement, content was added to and tested in the RETL Installation Guide to ensure that it contain similar chapters and sections included in other Oracle Retail Installation Guides. Template Creator documentation, under the RIB product umbrellaThe Oracle Retail Functional Artifact Guide and the Oracle Retail Functional ArtifactGenerator Guide contain new information about a new tool called the Template Creator. The Functional Artifacts Generator tool has been enhanced to generate custom and localized payloads business objects on demand, based on Oracle Retail Functional Artifact rules. A new tool called the Template Creator has been provided to create the placeholder XSDs and the import hooks in the base objects on an as-needed basis. In other words, this tool constructs the appropriate placeholders in the packaging structure in the correct locations. The Artifact Generator tools, including the Template Creator, can be used either as a command line or GUI tool set.   List of Documents in RETL, RIB, and the Oracle Retail Service Layer (RSL) 13.2.4  The following documents are included in release 13.2.4 of the applications noted above: RIB Oracle Retail Integration Bus Release Notes Oracle Retail Integration Bus Implementation Guide Oracle Retail Integration Bus Installation Guide Oracle Retail Integration Bus Operations Guide Oracle Retail Functional Artifact Generator Guide Oracle Retail Functional Artifacts Guide Oracle Retail Service Layer Installation Guide Oracle Retail SOA Enabler Tool Guide RIB Integration Guide (ID 1277421.1) RETL Oracle Retail Extract, Transform, and Load Release Notes Oracle Retail Extract, Transform, and Load Installation Guide Oracle Retail Extract, Transform, and Load Programmer’s Guide RSL Oracle Retail Service Layer Release Notes Oracle Retail Service Layer Installation Guide Oracle Retail Service Layer Programmer’s Guide

  • mod_rewrite settings causes server to throw HTTP 500 errors instead of 404

Hello. I have a server with VBulletin forum (working under Apache 2.2, CentOS). The default settings for it in .htaccess are as follows: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^gsmforum\.ru RewriteRule (.*) http://www.gsmforum.ru/$1 [R=301,L] # If you are having problems or are using VirtualDocumentRoot, uncomment this line and set it to your vBulletin directory. RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -s [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -l [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d RewriteRule ^.*$ - [NC,L] # Forum RewriteRule ^threads/.* showthread.php [QSA] RewriteRule ^forums/.* forumdisplay.php [QSA] RewriteRule ^members/.* member.php [QSA] RewriteRule ^blogs/.* blog.php [QSA] ReWriteRule ^entries/.* entry.php [QSA] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -s [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -l [OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d RewriteRule ^.*$ - [NC,L] # MVC RewriteRule ^(?:(.*?)(?:/|$))(.*|$)$ $1.php?r=$2 [QSA] If I try to access any non-existent URL on forum like www.example.com/ajdsjaskasajs, server throws HTTP 500 error. Can you advise me what is the problem with mod_rewrite settings? Why does the last line cause infinite recursion?
