Generating 8000 text files from xml files

Hi all, i need to generate the same number of text files as the xml files i have. Within the text files, i need the title and maybe some other tags of it. I can generate text files with the elements i wanted but not all xml files can be generated. Only some of them are generated. Something might be wrong with my parser so help out please thanks. Fixing corrupt AVG vault? All files in USB drive are locked out.

I was doing a virus scan on an external USB drive and while AVG was scanning my system got locked up and required a reboot. Since that time all data on the external drive is no longer accessible. I can see all the files in the root and directorys but I cannot browse into any of them as Windows 7 gives an error stating they are corrupt. If I show hidden files there is a hidden AVG directory that I know was not there to begin with and I am assuming it is some type of vault to protect files while being scanned. Well not the entire drives contents are unaccessible because I think whatever does the managing of the scan failed during the roobt and left the headers or something in a corrupt state. Does anyone know how to 'unlock' or recover this data? Luckily I can recover this data from other sources as a last resort but I would like to fix this if possible. Any help would be appreciated. Where is the best location to keep shared-developer website files in the linux hierarchy?

I just started hosting files for a website on my server, and I'm not sure where is an appropriate place to keep them. At the moment, I have them in /var/www/name.of.virtualhost.site/www/. That's obviously not secure because anything below the final public /www/ folder is also available since the /var/www/ contents are already being served up. For example, /var/www/name.of.virtualhost.site/docs/site_policies.txt is accessible via something like defaultsite.com/name.of.virtualhost.site/docs/site_policies.txt. So where is a good place to store the files that make up a website? (when it's a site that only I'm developing, I can obviously just stick them in /home/my_username/sites/name.of.virtualhost.site/, but that doesn't work well when I want other developers to be working on the site's files as well) I'm running a LAMP stack, not that I expect it to matter.

Files hidden on USB hard disk because of virus, how to clean?

I have 1 GB hard drive. First all of its contents were gone after a virus got in (when I have the drive to someone else). After research found that it was a virus may be. I run Nortan antivus and removed certain virus. Then ran malewarebytes, now ad-aware and avg 2011 antivirus. Now i could see the files on my other computer. But now I have hooked this to my new macbook pro (windows installation) and i can't see the files. The antivurs does find all the files. MacOSX wrote a 400 MB directory there which i can see but nothing else. How to fix this? Which program will fix it?

Does Win 7 still requires copying all files over before burning to a DVD-R or BD-R?

It seems that Win 7 still needs to copy all files over to a folder, before it burns all files to the DVD-R or BD-R? I think since XP or Vista, Windows always copy everything over to a temporary folder before it will burn to an empty DVD-R. So if you just want to burn a 4GB file to an empty DVD-R, it will first make a copy of that file, and then burn it, instead of just burning it without making a copy first. And now on Win 7, it seems like it is the case also? Most other 3rd party burning tools won't make an extra copy of the files first... Win 7 is the exception. Is there a way around it? (to avoid copying over 25GB or 50GB of data before burning)

SSIS – Delete all files except for the most recent one

Quite often one or more sources for a data warehouse consist of flat files. Most of the times these files are delivered as a zip file with a date in the file name, for example FinanceDataExport_20100528.zip Currently I work at a project that does a full load into the data warehouse every night. A zip file with some flat files in it is dropped in a directory on a daily basis. Sometimes there are multiple zip files in the directory, this can happen because the ETL failed or somebody puts a new zip file in the directory manually. Because the ETL isn’t incremental only the most recent file needs to be loaded. To implement this I used the simple code below; it checks which file is the most recent and deletes all other files. Cannot copy MP3 files from a CD

I purchased a set of spoken word audio CD's that have MP3 and FLAC audio files; I think they also play as regular audio CD's because I see a CDA directory and .cda files. But I'm only interested in playing the MP3 files by copying them to my phone. Dolphin file manager shows all the files on the CD. However, it will not copy any of them to my hard drive, which is what my goal is. Dolphin shows no error, but the copy progress is zero. Amarok will play the files but not easily. I only tried the flac files. To play a file, I click the file in Dolphin, then I have to cancel a job using KDE's notification system, then Amarok proceeds to copy the file to a tmp directory which takes a long time, then it finally plays. kb3 will rip the audio, but I would prefer to copy the files directly from the CD. Since Dolphin would not copy the files, I thought I would try the terminal, but I can't get that to work either. mount -t auto -o ro /dev/sr0 /mnt/temp that gives the error: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock, etc. I get the same error using -t iso9660 and -t udf. so I started troubleshooting: ~$ wodim --devices wodim: Overview of accessible drives (1 found) : ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 dev='/dev/sg1' rwrw-- : 'MATSHITA' 'DVD-RAM UJ8A0AS' ------------------------------------------------------------------------- /dev/sg1 is not a block device sudo file -s /dev/sr0 ERROR: cannot read /dev/sr0 (input/output error) sudo file -s /dev/sg1 just hangs How can I copy these files to my computer hard disk?

double-click does not open the default program

I installed Ubuntu 12.04, with texlive-full and texworks. When I double-click a .tex file in Nautilus, it pops up a Do you want to run "xxxxxxxx.tex", or display it contents? "xxxxxxxx.tex" is an executable text file. Run in Terminal Display Cancel Run If I choose Display, it opens texworks. How can I make it open without seeing the above conversation window? By the way, is .tex file indeed an executable file? ADDED Just for the case, my ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list file looks like the following: [Default Applications] text/html=google-chrome.desktop x-scheme-handler/http=google-chrome.desktop x-scheme-handler/https=google-chrome.desktop x-scheme-handler/about=google-chrome.desktop x-scheme-handler/unknown=google-chrome.desktop text/x-tex=texworks.desktop x-scheme-handler/mailto=google-chrome.desktop [Added Associations] text/x-tex=texworks.desktop; text/x-bibtex=jabref.desktop;gedit.desktop; I observe texworks are both up and down. Should I remove one? ADDED This does not happen with all .tex files. In fact, I am currently using Ubuntu 12.04 under Virtual Box with Windows 7 host. I have my Dropbox account synced with the Windows 7 host, and I access files in Dropbox in Ubuntu through Virtual Box's shared folder functionality. (I didn't install Dropbox client in Ubuntu.) Files in Dropbox are owned by root with group vboxsf. My personal account is in the group vboxsf. It seems that I have to uncheck the option for "executable", but I have all my .tex files in the Dropbox shared folder. Would there be any workaround?

One pin for the data and another for the clock). That was the only way I knew to tell the system to output a voltage. What can I do to make my executable program output to be at least in the magnitude of MegaHertz?

error initializing multiple configuration files

Hi, during initialization startup on tomcat, the configurations are: 1) a webapp/WEB-INF/web.xml that imports yummy-servlet.xml in contextConfigLocation (although i'm aware that is not required since the servlet-name is yummy it will try to load yummy-servlet.xml by default) 2) a webapp/WEB-INF/yummy-servlet.xml that imports a spring/applicationContext-hibernate.xml file 3) a webapp/WEB-INF/spring/applicationContext-hibernate.xml that imports a applicationContext-dataSource.xml file 4) a webapp/WEB-INF/spring/applicationContext-dataSource.xml i'm getting errors about Failed to import bean definitions from relative location, but the stack trace is not very explicit about exactly what is the problem, i've been looking at these since yesterday and i really don't see loading js files and other dependent js files asynchronously

I'm looking for a clean way to asynchronously load the following types of javascript files: a "core" js file (hmm, let's just call it, oh i don't know, "jquery!" haha), x number of js files that are dependent on the "core" js file being loaded, and y number of other unrelated js files. I have a couple ideas of how to go about it, but not sure what the best way is. I'd like to avoid loading scripts in the document body. So for example, I want the following 4 javascript files to load asynchronously, appropriately named: /js/my-contact-page-js-functions.js // unrelated/independent script /js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js // the "core" script /js/jquery.color.min.js // dependent on jquery being loaded http://thirdparty.com/js/third-party-tracking-script.js // another unrelated/independent script But this won't work because it's not guaranteed that jQuery is loaded before the color plugin... Log4Net GetLogger creates rolling files even for the unreferenced files

Hi, I have a C# solution that contains three executables. I have each of these three executables sharing the same log4net configuration file. At startup of each of the executable, they retrieve a logger (one logger per executable, as per configuration file further below). When one of the executable performs Log.GetLogger(), it creates all the rolling files instead of only the one rolling file that is referred to as appender-ref in the executable's logger configuration. For instance, when I startup my sending daemon executable, it performs Log.GetLogger("SendingDaemonLogger") which creates 3 files Log/RuleScheduler.txt, Log/NotificationGenerator.txt and Log/NotificationSender.txt instead of only the desired Log/NotificationSender.txt. Then when I startup another of the executables, for instance the rule scheduler daemon, this other process cannot write in Log/RuleScheduler.txt because it has been created and locked by the sending daemon process. I am guessing that there may be three different solutions to my problem: The GetLogger should only create the rolling file appenders that are referenced in the config I should have one config file per executable, this way each config file could list only one rolling file appender and starting each of the executable would not create the rolling files of the other daemons. I am however reluctant to do this because some of the configuration (SMTP appender, console appender) is shared between the daemons and I don't want to have duplicate copies to maintain. Unless there is a way to have a config file including another one? Maybe there is a way to configure the rolling file so that concurrent access across processes is allowed? This solution still isn't perfect in my opinion because any of the daemons should not be creating the rolling files of some other daemons. Thanks in advance for your help! How To Make FileZilla Open All The Required Files With One Click

Is there any way of configuring FileZilla so that I can open all the files on a server that I use to edit with just one click. For example if the files are like this:- /home/abc/def/one.txt /home/abc/def/yet/another/directory/two.txt /home/abc/def/ghi/yet/another/directory/three.txt then it is very time-consuming to navigate through each directory and open the required files. These are only 3 files but what if we have around 10 to 20 files? Yes, copying the path of the directories is one thing. But something that is built-in so that I can just click a button like open all the required files of this connection and it opens all the files in the editor (as set in FileZilla preferences) then that would be great!

Unexpected deletion of directory

I find that somehow the Downloads directory in /home/user/ is deleted. on using $locate Downloads, it shows the existence of directory without any existence of files within. now when i manually create directory named Downloads, $ locate Downloads shows the directory as well as the files the original folder had. also there is no hidden Downloads folder nor can i access the folder or its files this behavior is quite unexpected .... please help.

Creating an expandable, cross-platform compatible program "core".

Hi there. Basically the brief is relatively simple. We need to create a program core. An engine that will power all sorts of programs with a large number of distinct potential applications and deployments. The core will be an analytics and algorithmic processor which will essentially take user-specific input and output scenarios based on the information it gets, whilst recording this information for reporting. It needs to be cross platform compatible. Something that can have platform specific layers put on top which can interface with the core. It also needs to be able to be expandable, for instance, modular with developers being able to write "add-ons" or "extensions" which can alter the function of the end program and can use the core to its full extent. (For instance, a good example of what I'm looking to create is a browser. It has its main core, the web-kit engine, for instance, and then on top of this is has a platform-specific GUI and can also have add-ons and extensions which can change the behavior of the program.) Our problem is that the extensions need to interface directly with the main core and expand/alter that functionality rather than the platform specific "layer". So, given that I have no experience in this whatsoever (I have a PHP background and recently objective-c), where should I start, and is there any knowledge/wisdom you can impart on me please?
