    I am using a fairly straight-forward script to open and parse several xml files that are gzipped. I also need to do the same basic operation with a ZIP file. It seems like it should be simple, but I haven't been able to find what looked like equivalent code anywhere. Here is the simple version of what I am already doing: $import_file = "source.gz"; $sfp = gzopen($import_file, "rb"); ///// OPEN GZIPPED data while ($string = gzread($sfp, 4096)) { //Loop through the data /// Parse Output And Do Stuff with $string } gzclose($sfp); What would do the same thing for a zipped file?

    Ok, just wondering on the versions of PHP that this class is built into. And if they are built into all platforms (OS's). I'm wanting an approach to search through a zip file and place files using file_put_contents in different filepaths within the webroot. In any case, I'm familiar with how to do this with the ZipArchive class, but I'm wondering if using this class would be a good solution and support MOST, if not ALL servers?? I mean, I'd rather not use a method that requires the Server to have it installed. I'm looking for a solution to this that will support at least MOST servers without having to install the class... Thanks :) Also, I'd like to support opening tar.gz and/or .tgz files if possible, but I don't think the ZipArchive class supports this, but perhaps a different built-in php class does??

  • PHP - Opening uploaded DOCX files with the correct MIME TYPE

    I have users uploading DOCX files which I make available for download. The issues we have been experiencing is the unknown mime types of DOCX files which causes IE to open these docs as Zip files. It is running on a Windows/IIS server. Because this is a shared host, I cannot change any server settings. I was thinking that I could just write some code that would handle DOCX files, perhaps custom output: if (extension=docx) { header("Content-Disposition: attachment; etc) header('Content-Type: application/application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document'); Output the file contents etc } Would this be a viable solution?? If so, can someone help fill in the gaps? (PS I know the above syntax is not correct, just a quick example)

  • Problems compiling peazip on OSX

    I'm having some problems with compiling Peazip on OSX (10.6). I emailed the Peazip developer and he said he probably couldn't help me too much as the error seems to be OSX specific and he doesn't have access to an OSX machine any more. The compiler I'm using is Lazarus as the source is in Pascal. The actual compile process seems to go ok, but when I run the peazip.app program launcher, I get the following error: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/thegooddale/Screen-shot-2010-05-22-at-71907-PM.png Here is the app launcher that the compile made: http://forboden.com/coding/peazip.app.zip - you can use an unzip program to look at the files inside (i.e. unzip it twice).     Hello, I have written a script which fetches a distribution, given the URL. After downloading the distribution, it compares the md5 hashes to verify that the file has been downloaded properly. This is how I do it. def download(package_name, url): import urllib2 downloader = urllib2.urlopen(url) package = downloader.read() package_file_path = os.path.join('/tmp', package_name) package_file = open(package_file_path, "w") package_file.write(package) package_file.close() I wonder if there is any better(more pythonic) way to do what I have done using the above code snippet. Also, once the package is downloaded this is what is done: def install_package(package_name): if package_name.endswith('.tar'): import tarfile tarfile.open('/tmp/' + package_name) tarfile.extract('/tmp') import shlex import subprocess installation_cmd = 'python %ssetup.py install' %('/tmp/'+package_name) subprocess.Popen(shlex.split(installation_cmd) As there are a number of imports for the install_package method, i wonder if there is a better way to do this. I`d love to have some constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement. Also, I have only implemented the install_package method for .tar files; would there be a better manner by which I could install .tar.gz and .zip files too without having to write seperate methods for each of these?

  • Preserving name when bulk unzipping files?

    Sorry this question is trivial, but I couldn't get it to work: I have a folder full of .zip files, each .zip file contains exactly one .xml file. The zip files have sensible names like a.zip etc., while the .xml file contained in them have some "randomname".xml Now I want to unpack all the .zip files in the folder, preserving the name of the .zip files, so that a.zip gets unpacked into a.xml, b.zip into b.xml etc... I only managed to achieve a batch unpacking with the command: for z in *.zip; do unzip "$z"; done How do I enhance this to keep the names?

    I have a schema like : employees (eno, ename, zip, hdate) customers (cno, cnmae, street, zip, phone) zipcodes (zip, city) where zip is pk in zipcodes and fk in other tables. I have to write an update query which updates all the occurence of zipcode 4994 to 1234 throughout the database. update zipcodes,customers,employees set zip = 0 where customers.zip = zipcodes.zip and employees.zip = zipcodes.zip; but i know i am not doing it right. Is there a way to update all the tables zip ina single update query?

Then I saw people talking about the Fzip (http://codeazur.com.br/lab/fzip) lib. The problem is that I don't know how to "import" or use this library with Javascript and Adobe Air, since Javascript doesn't have the import directive. How can I manage to do that ?

  • Renaming ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll

    Hi, well I am having a problem renaming the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll file to anythig else. I am trying to shorten the file name. I reference the assembly in the project, but when the program reaches the statements where I use the library. It spawns an error that it could not find the assembly or file 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib'. When I change the file name back to ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll the application works noramally. So, is there any way to change the file name. Also, am I allowed to change it without violating the license (I am going to use it in a commercial application). Thanks.

I have to unzip them using JavaScript, I have tried using inflate.js, http://www.onicos.com/staff/iz/amuse/javascript/expert/inflate.txt, but without success. How can I do this?

    Hi All, I want an Open File Dialog with *.class ,*.jar filters. I want that *.jar files will be treated as folders (pressing OK or double-click should display the jar file content [ *.class] ). This capability is very similar to the TotalCommander archive plugin that let you browse inside archive files in-place (without the need to extract them, etc...) Any ideas how it could be done? Can I use something that is already implemented? Thanks, Guy
