• Recommend a basic 3D graphics card for HP ProLiant DL360 G5?

  We've got an HP ProLiant DL360 G5 running Windows Server 2008 R2 that needs a graphics card with 3D acceleration (the integrated ATI ES1000 graphics don't have this). This is an unfortunate requirement that we can't avoid, as it is required by S/W installed on the server that is beyond our control. Looks like the PCI-Express slots in the box are x8 (1 full and 1 low profile). We just need a basic card, as long as it has the 3D acceleration. Any recommendations?

  In programming, there is often a canonical book for a particular topic, like the dragon book for compilers, K&R for C, etc. Is their a book regarding modern database design that simply must be read by anyone that would hope to eventually design databases?   Hi, I'm looking for a light, fast hash/checksum calculator (eg. MD5, SHA1, etc.). I've been using HashCalc and it works fine enough, but I was wondering if there was something better. When downloading .ISOs from MS BizSpark, I've found that it's essential to check the SHA1, and I'm sure that other people have found the same... • Running Job and Paused Job Writing to the same File

  So I ran tcpdump twice overnight by accident, both outputting to the same file. However, I ran them as jobs and one of them has been paused the whole time. Anyone have a recommendations on how to keep the file? So far I have thought of: kill -9 the paused job Pause the running job, copy the file, and then stop both. Two sounds like the safest option, anyone have a better idea other than not doing this in the first place ;-)

  I am in the process of collecting laptop recommendations for a friend. I need a way to show to her the size differences of the various formats (15" 4:3, 15" 16:9, 15" 16:10 .... up to 17.3") in a graphical way, so she can compare them to the laptop she currently has (15").   I have a pair of Sennheiser 555 semi-professional headphones. These have a 6.3mm jack and a 3.5mm jack adapter. I wish I could buy an USB sound card for my laptop that would have a 6.3mm output not 3.5mm so I could skip this adapter and lose less quality. Any recommendations?

  I am after a solution which will enable me to enter all my hardware/software elements (sort of like resource management), create a set of 'test environments' and assign hardware and software to that test environment for a given period. The idea is so that everyone can see and update what they need in any given environment to meet their project needs. Does anyone know of any systems out there which can achieve this?
