What is the difference between Service Provider Interface (SPI) and Application Programming Interface (API)?
More specifically, for Java libraries, what makes them an API and/or SPI?
I just downloaded the Bing API 2.0 SDK. There are several html files in Bing API 2.0 SDK\Samples\JSON directory. I replaced the AppId in the JavaScript with my new AppId. These pages run fine in IE but I got 'syntax error' in Firefox, Firebug console. Does anyone have similar issues? What is in the page that is causing the 'syntax error'?
Thank you very much.

I'm looking for a good open source multi-touch API to use in a project we might get. So far I've found PyMT, but haven't really seen any comments on the maturity of that product, so any input in that regard would be much appreciated.
I'd also like some other suggestions on API's that might be of interest, since googling have only given so much, and as with PyMT, it is quite difficult finding opinions on the frameworks out there.
Many thanks.
I am trying to put together a bash or python script to play with the facebook graph API. Using the API looks simple, but I'm having trouble setting up curl in my bash script to call authorize and access_token. Does anyone have a working example?
I'm looking to implement a feature where I am able to collect @mentions through the facebook API in a similar fashion to the twitter API.
Specifically, if I run a group called foo, and other people on facebook mention @foo in their wall posts, I'd like to fetch and collect the text of that particular @foo mention.
I can't find any relevant documentation on Facebook....
Hi all,
My idea is to connect to LinkedIn through the API and work on the public data. My area of concern is where to find Linkedin API and how to use it. I have search a lot but landed no where.
Please help me in this regard.
I am trying to auto-generate Unit Tests for my C code using API sanity autotest.
But, the problem is that it is somewhat complex to use, and some tutorials / howto / other resources on how to use it would be really helpful.
Have you had any luck with API sanity autotest?
Do you think there's a better tool that can be used to auto-generate unit tests for C code?

I am looking for a usb based video capture card (to be used with cctv analog cameras) which comes with an api. An api of sorts would help as I am planning to do some analytics on the video stream.
Any ideas on such a device?
Using the new API, is it possible to get the insights (analytics) data from a page that you are an admin of?
I can successfully get the data from an app I own, but its not clear how to do this for a page.
If not, is it possible to download the CSV of data from the API?
I'm tired of switching between xcode and the browser to check iPhone API reference from Apple web site. Any better way to to it directly from XCode ? Ideally I'd like to select a word and search for it in the APi reference automatically.
Hello!
Where can I find centralized and complete documentation aboput Linux - specific API?
I'm preparing Linux port of my application and i want to use as much Linux - specific features as it's possible. So far I found that Linux provide epoll and inotify API, which are great news for me, because my program works as network server and monitor local file systems.
I may be going mental, but I can not find any api reference material for nhibernate. I've found plenty of manuals, tutorials, ebooks etc but no api reference. I saw the chm file on the nhibernate sourceforge page, but it doesn't seem to work on any of my PCs (different OSes)
Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Hello everybody!

Is there a (standalone!) java api which wraps the XML-RPC interface to bugzilla? I don't want to program my own api for it, and I can't actually find a library which does this (and only this).
Update:
I'm looking for something like this http://oss.dbc.dk/bugzproxy/
only written in Java

http://connectedwell.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/brightkite_friendmap.png
brightkite used to have it, but they dont anymore ... and im not really sure i can use custom div tags and assign them to the google map api v3 ... didnt really find anything useful in the api documentation either ... just for "custom markers"
I am about to start on a project where I need to display maps with cross streets and possibly directions. I know there are a lot of API for the web, but I was wondering what the best solution is for a desktop application.
I know of Bing Maps and I believe there are some Google Maps solutions out there as well. Any help or information on good mapping API's would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
When using reflection we typically just was the basic System.Reflection API but I am wondering if anyone know of a nice "wrapper" layer or API that has a more "schema style" approach? (e.g. kind of like a code generators DB schema view)
hi.. i want to use one existing OpenID API to check the consumers authentication, which i have to call inside a restful web service..
where can i get the OpenID API to use ??
I'm trying the following request to access the bucket by using curl, via the public API:
curl -X POST -H 'Content-Type: image/jpeg' -d @xxx.jpeg 'https://www.googleapis.com/upload/storage/v1/b/clips.eyecam.com/o?uploadType=media&name=x.jpeg&key=XXX'
With XXX being the generated key in the Public API.
However I'm getting an authorization failure:
{
"error": {
"errors": [
{
"domain": "global",
"reason": "required",
"message": "Login Required",
"locationType": "header",
"location": "Authorization"
}
],
"code": 401,
"message": "Login Required"
}
}
Seems the request is incorrect and does not pass the authorization key, any idea what would be the right form of the request?
Without accessing private API's to get Content URI's, etc. for SMS, how are we expected to query this data? I am currently in the process of writing my own SMS app and I want to stay as compatible as possible. Without storing the information myself in my own database (such that I can store the text messages so that other programs can access the data when/if they delete my app) and without using private API's how the heck are we suppose to query SMS data?
I know at some point I'd come across a Google service built into their API that would provide local information as markers on the viewport (schools, hospitals, etc.)-- I believe this was a simple control that could be added just like the normal map controls, to allow users to turn it on or off with a checkbox or button.
I can't seem to find this feature documented anywhere in the v3.0 API docs. Can anyone provide some information on this, or let me know if it was deprecated?
Thanks
