  • Capture Stored Procedure print output in .NET (Different model!)

    - by Workshop Alex
Basically, this question with a difference... Is it possible to capture print output from a TSQL stored procedure in .NET, using the Entity Framework? The solution in the other question doesn't work for me. It works with the connection type from System.Data.SqlClient but I'm using the one from System.Data.EntityClient which does not have an InfoMessage event. (Of course, I could just create an SQL connection based on the Entity connection settings, but prefer to do it directly.)

  • Oracle Tutor: Top 10 to Implement Sustainable Policies and Procedures

    - by emily.chorba(at)oracle.com
Overview Your organization (executives, managers, and employees) understands the value of having written business process documents (process maps, procedures, instructions, reference documents, and form abstracts). Policies and procedures should be documented because they help to reduce the range of individual decisions and encourage management by exception: the manager only needs to give special attention to unusual problems, not covered by a specific policy or procedure. As more and more procedures are written to cover recurring situations, managers will begin to make decisions which will be consistent from one functional area to the next.Companies should take a project management approach when implementing an environment for a sustainable documentation program and do the following:1. Identify an Executive Champion2. Put together a winning team3. Assign ownership4. Centralize publishing5. Establish the Document Maintenance Process Up Front6. Document critical activities only7. Document actual practice8. Minimize documentation9. Support continuous improvement10. Keep it simple 1. Identify an Executive ChampionAppoint a top down driver. Select one key individual to be a mentor for the procedure planning team. The individual should be a senior manager, such as your company president, CIO, CFO, the vice-president of quality, manufacturing, or engineering. Written policies and procedures can be important supportive aids when known to express the thinking for the chief executive officer and / or the president and to have his or her full support. 2. Put Together a Winning TeamChoose a strong Project Management Leader and staff the procedure planning team with management members from cross functional groups. Make sure team members have the responsibility - and the authority - to make things happen. The winning team should consist of the Documentation Project Manager, Document Owners (one for each functional area), a Document Controller, and Document Specialists (as needed). The Tutor Implementation Guide has complete job descriptions for these roles. 3. Assign Ownership It is virtually impossible to keep process documentation simple and meaningful if employees who are far removed from the activity itself create it. It is impossible to keep documentation up-to-date when responsibility for the document is not clearly understood.Key to the Tutor methodology, therefore, is the concept of ownership. Each document has a single owner, who is responsible for ensuring that the document is necessary and that it reflects actual practice. The owner must be a person who is knowledgeable about the activity and who has the authority to build consensus among the persons who participate in the activity as well as the authority to define or change the way an activity is performed. The owner must be an advocate of the performers and negotiate, not dictate practices. In the Tutor environment, a document's owner is the only person with the authority to approve an update to that document. 4. Centralize Publishing Although it is tempting (especially in a networked environment and with document management software solutions) to decentralize the control of all documents -- with each owner updating and distributing his own -- Tutor promotes centralized publishing by assigning the Document Administrator (gate keeper) to manage the updates and distribution of the procedures library. 5. Establish a Document Maintenance Process Up Front (and stick to it) Everyone in your organization should know they are invited to suggest changes to procedures and should understand exactly what steps to take to do so. Tutor provides a set of procedures to help your company set up a healthy document control system. There are many document management products available to automate some of the document change and maintenance steps. Depending on the size of your organization, a simple document management system can reduce the effort it takes to track and distribute document changes and updates. Whether your company decides to store the written policies and procedures on a file server or in a database, the essential tasks for maintaining documents are the same, though some tasks are automated. 6. Document Critical Activities Only The best way to keep your documentation simple is to reduce the number of process documents to a bare minimum and to include in those documents only as much detail as is absolutely necessary. The first step to reducing process documentation is to document only those activities that are deemed critical. Not all activities require documentation. In fact, some critical activities cannot and should not be standardized. Others may be sufficiently documented with an instruction or a checklist and may not require a procedure. A document should only be created when it enhances the performance of the employee performing the activity. If it does not help the employee, then there is no reason to maintain the document. Activities that represent little risk (such as project status), activities that cannot be defined in terms of specific tasks (such as product research), and activities that can be performed in a variety of ways (such as advertising) often do not require documentation. Sometimes, an activity will evolve to the point where documentation is necessary. For example, an activity performed by single employee may be straightforward and uncomplicated -- that is, until the activity is performed by multiple employees. Sometimes, it is the interaction between co-workers that necessitates documentation; sometimes, it is the complexity or the diversity of the activity.7. Document Actual Practices The only reason to maintain process documentation is to enhance the performance of the employee performing the activity. And documentation can only enhance performance if it reflects reality -- that is, current best practice. Documentation that reflects an unattainable ideal or outdated practices will end up on the shelf, unused and forgotten.Documenting actual practice means (1) auditing the activity to understand how the work is really performed, (2) identifying best practices with employees who are involved in the activity, (3) building consensus so that everyone agrees on a common method, and (4) recording that consensus.8. Minimize Documentation One way to keep it simple is to document at the highest level possible. That is, include in your documents only as much detail as is absolutely necessary. When writing a document, you should ask yourself, What is the purpose of this document? That is, what problem will it solve?By focusing on this question, you can target the critical information.• What questions are the end users likely to have?• What level of detail is required?• Is any of this information extraneous to the document's purpose? Short, concise documents are user friendly and they are easier to keep up to date. 9. Support Continuous Improvement Employees who perform an activity are often in the best position to identify improvements to the process. In other words, continuous improvement is a natural byproduct of the work itself -- but only if the improvements are communicated to all employees who are involved in the process, and only if there is consensus among those employees.Traditionally, process documentation has been used to dictate performance, to limit employees' actions. In the Tutor environment, process documents are used to communicate improvements identified by employees. How does this work? The Tutor methodology requires a process document to reflect actual practice, so the owner of a document must routinely audit its content -- does the document match what the employees are doing? If it doesn't, the owner has the responsibility to evaluate the process, to build consensus among the employees, to identify "best practices," and to communicate these improvements via a document update. Continuous improvement can also be an outgrowth of corrective action -- but only if the solutions to problems are communicated effectively. The goal should be to solve a problem once and only once, which means not only identifying the solution, but ensuring that the solution becomes part of the process. The Tutor system provides the method through which improvements and solutions are documented and communicated to all affected employees in a cost-effective, timely manner; it ensures that improvements are not lost or confined to a single employee. 10. Keep it Simple Process documents don't have to be complex and unfriendly. In fact, the simpler the format and organization, the more likely the documents will be used. And the simpler the method of maintenance, the more likely the documents will be kept up-to-date. Keep it simply by:• Minimizing skills and training required• Following the established Tutor document format and layout• Avoiding technology just for technology's sake No other rule has as major an impact on the success of your internal documentation as -- keep it simple. • SQL Server stored procedures - update column based on variable name..?

    - by ClarkeyBoy
Hi, I have a data driven site with many stored procedures. What I want to eventually be able to do is to say something like: For Each @variable in sproc inputs UPDATE @TableName SET @variable.toString = @variable Next I would like it to be able to accept any number of arguments. It will basically loop through all of the inputs and update the column with the name of the variable with the value of the variable - for example column "Name" would be updated with the value of @Name. I would like to basically have one stored procedure for updating and one for creating. However to do this I will need to be able to convert the actual name of a variable, not the value, to a string. Question 1: Is it possible to do this in T-SQL, and if so how? Question 2: Are there any major drawbacks to using something like this (like performance or CPU usage)? I know if a value is not valid then it will only prevent the update involving that variable and any subsequent ones, but all the data is validated in the vb.net code anyway so will always be valid on submitting to the database, and I will ensure that only variables where the column exists are able to be submitted. Many thanks in advance, Regards, Richard Clarke Edit: I know about using SQL strings and the risk of SQL injection attacks - I studied this a bit in my dissertation a few weeks ago. Basically the website uses an object oriented architecture. There are many classes - for example Product - which have many "Attributes" (I created my own class called Attribute, which has properties such as DataField, Name and Value where DataField is used to get or update data, Name is displayed on the administration frontend when creating or updating a Product and the Value, which may be displayed on the customer frontend, is set by the administrator. DataField is the field I will be using in the "UPDATE Blah SET @Field = @Value". I know this is probably confusing but its really complicated to explain - I have a really good understanding of the entire system in my head but I cant put it into words easily. Basically the structure is set up such that no user will be able to change the value of DataField or Name, but they can change Value. I think if I were to use dynamic parameterised SQL strings there will therefore be no risk of SQL injection attacks. I mean basically loop through all the attributes so that it ends up like: UPDATE Products SET [Name] = '@Name', Description = '@Description', Display = @Display Then loop through all the attributes again and add the parameter values - this will have the same effect as using stored procedures, right?? I dont mind adding to the page load time since this is mainly going to affect the administration frontend, and will marginly affect the customer frontend.

  • How to write stored procedures to separate files with mysqldump?

    - by Jader Dias
The mysqldump option --tab=path writes the creation script of each table in a separate file. But I can't find the stored procedures, except in the screen dump. I need to have the stored procedures also in separate files. The current solution I am working on is to split the screen dump programatically. Is there a easier way? The code I am using so far is: mysqldump -p$PASSWORD --routines --skip-dump-date --no-create-info --no-data --skip-opt $DATABASE > $BACKUP_PATH/$DATABASE.sql mysqldump -p$PASSWORD --tab=$BACKUP_PATH --skip-dump-date --no-data --skip-opt $DATABASE

  • Established coding standards for pl/pgsql code

    - by jb01
I need to standardize coding practises for project that compromises, among others has pl/pgsql database, that has some amount of nontrivial code. I look for: Code formatting guidelines, especially inside procedures. Guidelines on what constructs are consigered unsafe (if any) Naming coventions. Code documentation conventions (if this is pracicised) Any hints to documets that define good practises in pl/pgsql code? If not i'm looking for hints to practices that you consider good. There is related question regarding TSQL: Can anyone recommend coding standards for TSQL?, which is relevant to psql as well, but I need more information on stored procedures. • Calling SQL Azure's stored procedure in silverlight

    - by sweetsweet
    I have a silverlight application to call the SQL Azure's stored procedure and show the data. I use the service to call stored procedure, and it is working when it is run at VS 2008. But when I integrate in php page, the data is not shown. I think the service is not running. How can I call SQL Azure stored procedure without using service? I cannot use ADO.Net Entity Domain Model and LINQ to SQL(I don't have permission to access that database in GUI). I cannot connect to SQL Azure, so which method can I use to call SQL Azure stored procedure in silverlight? Please give me the information. {I don't know very much about that silverlight. To take the detailes of my project. I want to call SQL Azure's stored procedure. So, I tried to call that Stored Procedure from ADO.Net Entity Domain Model. The problem is I cannot access that SQL Azure database. It show "Buit_in function suer_sname is not supported in this version of SQL server. Therefore, I connect to that Stored Procedure in code beind and call that function in Service and to use that data in presentation layer, I add service reference in silverlight(I mean the service is at the same project). It is perfectly working when it is running at VS. So,I take out xap file and call that xap file in php. The silverlight is running in that PHP page but the data is not shown. I think the service is not hosted. So, how can I solve my problem? I use xampp to run my php page. }

  • calculated column or stored procedure or just php function needed ?

    - by mcgrailm
I have an order table in MySQL database, having a field/column which stores the date timestamp of when the order was placed. I need to calculate when the order must be shipped. I could probably figure out how to write a function to calculate the ship date and call that when ever needed but I think, not sure it may make more sense to have the shipdate as a calculated column. That being said, I have never used a stored procedure or created a calculated field. The later I think would be best but again not sure. I used to make calculated field all the time in FMP but I've gotten away from that program.

  • How to return table name from stored procedure in dataset.

    - by Shantanu Gupta
I used a dataset to store 15 tables that I need at the time of loading. When i filled all the tables using stored procedure it returns me all the table but name of the table doesn't comes as that of actual table name in a database. It takes all the table with table name as Table1, Table2, Table3... I want them to be with the name as they actually are in table. SELECT PK_GUEST_TYPE, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_GUEST_TYPE SELECT PK_AGE_GROUP_ID, AGE_GROUP FROM L_AGE_GROUP SELECT PK_COMPANY_ID, COMPANY_NAME FROM M_COMPANY SELECT PK_COUNTRY_ID, COUNTRY FROM L_COUNTRY SELECT PK_EYE_COLOR_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_EYE_COLOR SELECT PK_GENDER_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_GENDER SELECT PK_HAIR_COLOR_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_HAIR_COLOR SELECT PK_STATE_PROVONCE_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_STATE_PROVINCE SELECT PK_STATUS_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_STATUS SELECT PK_TITLE_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_TITLE SELECT PK_TOWER_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM M_TOWER SELECT PK_CITY_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_CITY SELECT PK_REGISTER_TYPE_ID, [DESCRIPTION] FROM L_REGISTER_TYPE Here is my frontend coding to fill dataset. • MySQL stored procedure to INSERT DELAYED but CREATE TABLE first if needed?

    - by dkamins
I'm planning on doing a lot of INSERT DELAYED into MyISAM tables. But the tables might not exist yet. Let's say e.g. a new table will exist for each day. So instead of detecting absence of table in my client and creating then retrying the insert, it seems like a good case for a stored procedure ("function"). Is this possible, and what would it look like? Are there any downsides to this approach?

  • How do I select from a stored procedure in Sybase?

    - by Nick Fortescue
My DBA has constructed me a stored procedure in a Sybase database, for which I don't have the definition. If I run it, it returns a resultset with a set of columns and values. I would like to SELECT further to reduce the rows in the result set. Is this possible? From this question it seems like I could insert the results into a temporary table, but I'm not sure I've got permissions to do this. Is there any way I can SELECT certain rows, or if not, can someone give me example code for simulating with a temporary table?

  • Oracle Tutor - Is Anyone Reading Your Documentation?

    - by mary.keane
If you are responsible for documenting your business practices, wouldn't it be nice to know if anyone is using the documentation? If the employees find it useful? You might want to consider surveying the users of the documentation on a regular basis. There are a number of free survey tools online (search for "free survey tools"), and you can have a survey ready in a matter of minutes. It's as simple as gathering a list of questions and a list of email addresses. For the questions, here are some suggestions. How often do you access the policy and procedure site? How useful is the site? How easy is it to navigate the site? How often are your questions answered on the site? What suggestions do you have to make the site more useful? You may want to consider just asking a few questions each month so that employees can complete the survey in less than 5 minutes (you'll get more responses). Make sure you have several comment boxes in the survey so that the employees can give suggestions. As the users of your documentation, the employees may have some terrific ideas that will enhance the usability of your policy and procedure site. It would be great to hear your suggestions for how to survey the users of your documentation. Mary R. Keane Senior Development Manager, Oracle BPM and Tutor

  • Hibernate: how to call a stored function returning a varchar?

    - by Péter Török
I am trying to call a legacy stored function in an Oracle9i DB from Java using Hibernate. The function is declared like this: create or replace FUNCTION Transferlocation_Fix (mnemonic_code IN VARCHAR2) RETURN VARCHAR2 After several failed tries and extensive googling, I found this thread on the Hibernate forums which suggested a mapping like this: <sql-query name="TransferLocationFix" callable="true"> <return-scalar column="retVal" type="string"/> select Transferlocation_Fix(:mnemonic) as retVal from dual </sql-query> My code to execute it is Query query = session.getNamedQuery("TransferLocationFix"); query.setParameter("mnemonic", "FC3"); String result = (String) query.uniqueResult(); and the resulting log is DEBUG (org.hibernate.jdbc.AbstractBatcher:366) - - about to open PreparedStatement (open PreparedStatements: 0, globally: 0) DEBUG (org.hibernate.SQL:401) - - select Transferlocation_Fix(?) as retVal from dual TRACE (org.hibernate.jdbc.AbstractBatcher:484) - - preparing statement TRACE (org.hibernate.type.StringType:133) - - binding 'FC3' to parameter: 2 TRACE (org.hibernate.type.StringType:133) - - binding 'FC3' to parameter: 2 java.lang.NullPointerException at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTCAdapter.newTTCType(TTCAdapter.java:300) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTCAdapter.createNonPlsqlTTCColumnArray(TTCAdapter.java:270) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTCAdapter.createNonPlsqlTTCDataSet(TTCAdapter.java:231) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTC7Protocol.doOall7(TTC7Protocol.java:1924) at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTC7Protocol.parseExecuteDescribe(TTC7Protocol.java:850) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.doExecuteQuery(OracleStatement.java:2599) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.doExecuteWithTimeout(OracleStatement.java:2963) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.executeUpdate(OraclePreparedStatement.java:658) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.execute(OraclePreparedStatement.java:736) at com.mchange.v2.c3p0.impl.NewProxyCallableStatement.execute(NewProxyCallableStatement.java:3044) at org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle8iDialect.getResultSet(Oracle8iDialect.java:379) at org.hibernate.jdbc.AbstractBatcher.getResultSet(AbstractBatcher.java:193) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.getResultSet(Loader.java:1784) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.doQuery(Loader.java:674) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.doQueryAndInitializeNonLazyCollections(Loader.java:236) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.doList(Loader.java:2220) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.listIgnoreQueryCache(Loader.java:2104) at org.hibernate.loader.Loader.list(Loader.java:2099) at org.hibernate.loader.custom.CustomLoader.list(CustomLoader.java:289) at org.hibernate.impl.SessionImpl.listCustomQuery(SessionImpl.java:1695) at org.hibernate.impl.AbstractSessionImpl.list(AbstractSessionImpl.java:142) at org.hibernate.impl.SQLQueryImpl.list(SQLQueryImpl.java:152) at org.hibernate.impl.AbstractQueryImpl.uniqueResult(AbstractQueryImpl.java:811) at com.my.project.SomeClass.method(SomeClass.java:202) ... • Stored procedure woes ... inserting binary ...

    - by Wardy
Ok so I have this storedproc in my SQL 2008 database (works in 2005 too / used to) ... CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[SetBinaryContent] @Ref nvarchar(50), @Content varbinary(MAX), @ObjectID uniqueidentifier AS BEGIN DELETE ObjectContent WHERE ObjectId = @ObjectID AND Ref = @Ref IF DATALENGTH(@Content) > 5 BEGIN INSERT INTO ObjectContent (Ref,BinaryContent,ObjectId) VALUES (@Ref,@Content,@ObjectId) END UPDATE Objects SET [Status] = 1 WHERE ID = @ObjectID END Relatively simple, I take a byte array in C# and chuck it in @Content i then give it a guid and string for the other params and off we go. ... Great, it used to work ... but it don't anymore ... so erm ... What's wrong with this stored proc? I've stepped through my C# code thinking I screwed up somehow in that but it definately adds the params and gives them the correct values so what would cause the server to just stop executing this storedproc correctly? When called this proc executes but nothing changes in the db ... no new records are added to the ObjectContent table. Weird huh ...

  • How can I map stored procedure result into a custom class with linq-to-sql?

    - by Remnant
I have a stored procedure that returns a result set (4 columns x n Rows). The data is based on multiple tables within my database and provides a summary for each department within a corporate. Here is sample: usp_GetDepartmentSummary DeptName EmployeeCount Male Female HR 12 5 7 etc... I am using linq-to-sql to retrieve data from my database (nb - have to use sproc as it is something I have inherited). I would like to call the above sproc and map into a department class: public class Department { public string DeptName {get; set;} public int EmployeeCount {get; set;} public int MaleCount {get; set;} public int FemaleCount {get; set;} } In VS2008, I can drag and drop my sproc onto the methods pane of the linq-to-sql designer. When I examine the designer.cs the return type for this sproc is defined as: ISingleResult<usp_GetDepartmentSummaryResult> What I would like to do is amend this somehow so that it returns a Department type so that I can pass the results of the sproc as a strongly typed view: <% foreach (var dept in Model) { %> <ul> <li class="deptname"><%= dept.DeptName %></li> <li class="deptname"><%= dept.EmployeeCount %></li> etc... Any ideas how to achieve this? NB - I have tried amending the designer.cs and dbml xml file directly but with limited success. I admit to being a little out of my depth when it comes to updating those files directly and I am not sure it is best practice? Would be good to get some diretion. Thanks much

  • need help building a stored procedure that takes rows from one table into another.

    - by MyHeadHurts
alright i built this stored procedure to take the columns from a stagging table and copy them into my other table, but if these four columns are duplicates it wont insert the rows, works fine. however, what i want to do is if only the tour, taskname and deptdate are the same, then i will update the rest of the information. and if all four columns are the same dont instert. INSERT INTO dashboardtasks1 SELECT [tour], [taskname], [deptdate], [tasktype], [desc], [duedate], [compdate], [comments], [agent], [compby], [graceperiod] FROM staggingtasks WHERE NOT EXISTS(SELECT * FROM dashboardtasks1 WHERE (staggingtasks.tour=dashboardtasks1.tour and staggingtasks.taskname=dashboardtasks1.taskname and staggingtasks.deptdate=dashboardtasks1.deptdate and staggingtasks.duedate=dashboardtasks1.duedate ) ) i saw something like this INSERT INTO table (a,b,c) VALUES (1,2,3) ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE c=c+1; UPDATE table SET c=c+1 WHERE a=1; but how could i do it if my stated 3 columns are the samed then update? or is there a way to do this with an if statement and use 2 different queries, but how would my if statement work would it check if the row exists in the table i am uploading to and then run the insert statement? or what if i did something like IF EXISTS (SELECT * FROM dashboardtasks WHERE staggingtasks.tour=dashboardtasks.tour and staggingtasks.taskname=dashboardtasks.taskname and staggingtasks.deptdate=dashboardtasks.deptdate ) begin UPDATE [dashboardtasks] SET [tour] = staggingtasks.tour, [taskname] = staggingtasks.taskname, [deptdate] = staggingtasks.deptdate, [tasktype] = staggingtasks.tasktype, [desc] = staggingtasks.desc, [duedate] = staggingtasks.duedate, [compdate] = staggingtasks.compdate, [comments] = staggingtasks.comments, [agent] = staggingtasks.agent, [compby] = staggingtasks.compby, [graceperiod] = staggingtasks.graceperiod end else EXISTS (SELECT * FROM dashboardtasks WHERE staggingtasks.tour=dashboardtasks.tour and staggingtasks.taskname=dashboardtasks.taskname and staggingtasks.deptdate=dashboardtasks.deptdate and staggingtasks.duedate=dashboardtasks.duedate ) begin INSERT INTO dashboardtasks1 SELECT [tour], [taskname], [deptdate], [tasktype], [desc], [duedate], [compdate], [comments], [agent], [compby], [graceperiod] FROM staggingtasks WHERE NOT EXISTS(SELECT * FROM dashboardtasks1 WHERE (staggingtasks.tour=dashboardtasks1.tour and staggingtasks.taskname=dashboardtasks1.taskname and staggingtasks.deptdate=dashboardtasks1.deptdate and staggingtasks.duedate=dashboardtasks1.duedate ) ) end end

  • MySQL create stored procedure fails but all internal queries succeed alone?

    - by Mark
    Hi all, I just created a simple database in MySQL, and I am learning how to write stored proc's. I'm familiar with M$SQL and as far as I can see the following should work: use mydb; -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Routine DDL -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DELIMITER // CREATE PROCEDURE mydb.doStats () BEGIN CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS resultprobability ( ballNumber INT NOT NULL , probability FLOAT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (ballNumber) ); CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS drawProbability ( drawDate DATE NOT NULL , ball1 INT NULL , ball2 INT NULL , ball3 INT NULL , ball4 INT NULL , ball5 INT NULL , ball6 INT NULL , ball7 INT NULL , score FLOAT NULL , PRIMARY KEY (drawDate) ); TRUNCATE TABLE resultprobability; TRUNCATE TABLE drawprobability; INSERT INTO resultprobability (ballNumber, probability) (select resultset.ballNumber ballNumber,(count(0)/(select count(0) from resultset)) probability from resultset group by resultset.ballNumber); INSERT INTO drawProbability (drawDate, ball1, ball2, ball3, ball4, ball5, ball6, ball7, score) (select distinct r.drawDate, a.ballnumber ball1, b.ballnumber ball2, c.ballnumber ball3, d.ballnumber ball4, e.ballnumber ball5, f.ballnumber ball6,g.ballnumber ball7, ((a.probability + b.probability + c.probability + d.probability + e.probability + f.probability + g.probability)/7) score from resultset r inner join (select r.drawDate, r.ballNumber, p.probability from resultset r inner join resultprobability p on p.ballNumber = r.ballNumber where r.appearence = 1) a on a.drawdate = r.drawDate inner join (select r.drawDate, r.ballNumber, p.probability from resultset r inner join resultprobability p on p.ballNumber = r.ballNumber where r.appearence = 2) b on b.drawdate = r.drawDate inner join (select r.drawDate, r.ballNumber, p.probability from resultset r inner join resultprobability p on p.ballNumber = r.ballNumber where r.appearence = 3) c on c.drawdate = r.drawDate inner join (select r.drawDate, r.ballNumber, p.probability from resultset r inner join resultprobability p on p.ballNumber = r.ballNumber where r.appearence = 4) d on d.drawdate = r.drawDate inner join (select r.drawDate, r.ballNumber, p.probability from resultset r inner join resultprobability p on p.ballNumber = r.ballNumber where r.appearence = 5) e on e.drawdate = r.drawDate inner join (select r.drawDate, r.ballNumber, p.probability from resultset r inner join resultprobability p on p.ballNumber = r.ballNumber where r.appearence = 6) f on f.drawdate = r.drawDate inner join (select r.drawDate, r.ballNumber, p.probability from resultset r inner join resultprobability p on p.ballNumber = r.ballNumber where r.appearence = 7) g on g.drawdate = r.drawDate order by score desc); END // DELIMITER ; instead i get the following Executed successfully in 0.002 s, 0 rows affected. What am I doing wrong? I seem to have exhausted my limited mental abilities!
