  • Changing the Default Install Location of an MSI

    - by PSteele
A few months ago, I had to tweak an MSI installer.  It was installing into a specific directory (named the same as the application) underneath Program Files.  Since the location of Program Files can change from machine to machine, the MSI has a special token you can use for Program Files (as well as for the application name).  So the current value for “DefaultLocation” of the Application Folder was: [ProgramFilesFolder]\[ProductName] During installation, these tokens would be replaced by the actual location based on the current machine. I needed to change this to a specific folder underneath the users My Documents directory.  I poked around the help file and I could not find where these special tokens (like “[ProgramFilesFolder]”) were defined.  Obviously, there must be some specific set of values that are available and I’m sure My Documents is one of them. I finally found them documented so I’m posting the link here.  Hopefully, it will help someone else out.  Not sure where I found this link… System Folder Properties For me, it was as easy as changing the DefaultLocation to: [PersonalFolder]\MyToolName\Application Technorati Tags: .NET,MSI

  • Location-Based redirection and duplication in sub-directories affecting SEO

    - by Joshua
I currently own the website www.xyz.com. The website has a sub-directory for each of the 3 target countries: .../en-US/ (United States), .../es-MX/ (Mexico), and .../es-DO/ (Dominican Republic). I have two main questions about this setup: Currently, the main domain/root (xyz.com) contains a blank index.php file, but I would like for a user to be redirected to one of the sub-directories based on their regional location. What is the best way to accomplish this? I have looked at using browser language-based redirection, but how would I know whether to direct a user to the MX or DO site if the browser language is set to spanish? Is there a way to detect a user's geographic location? Also, the 3 websites are practically identical except they all have 3 unique color schemes and the US site is in english while the MX and DO sites are in spanish. My problem is that I believe GoogleBot is penalizing/banning my site because the spanish text on the MX and DO pages are nearly identical and are thus marked as duplicates/spam. Is there a way to avoid this?

  • Determine size of SizeToContent WPF Window before its rendered

    - by DudeFX
I have a window in my WPF application that is displayed on occasion. When it is shown it is faded in with an annimation, and when closed it is faded out. Nothing fancy, just a storyboard that modifies the opacity. Actually the window is never really closed, the opacity is just faded out to 0 where it remains until its to be displayed again. This window is an informative window and doesn't always show the same content. It is sized to content (Width and Height) and works well in that regard. The user chooses the basic area of the screen for it to be displayed (TopLeft, TopRight, Center, BottomLeft, BottomRight). Before the window is faded in the content is updated. Because the window is sized to content it increases or descreases in size. The width and height can change. When positioning the window, lets say, in the bottom right corner, I simply take the WorkingArea of the screen (width and height) and then minus the width/height of the window to get the Top and Left position that I need. The logic works, but the trouble I am having is the Window's Height and Width is not returning the size it is after the content was updated, but is returning the size it was the last time it was displayed. I am assuming this is because it hasn't yet been rendered with the new content. This causes me grief becuase if the Window is larger than it was the last time it obviously extends off the screen. I tried positioning the window in the OnContentRendered event, but this only fires once when the Window is created, not after the content has been updated, when the opacity is set to 0. Does anyone have any idea how I might get an accurate width and height of this window before it is faded in? Any help would be appreciated!!

  • Phpmyadmin location for nginx

    - by multiformeinggno
    I installed nginx and phpmyadmin. I set up a domain with these parameters to test phpmyadmin: server { listen 80; server_name domain.com; root /usr/share/phpmyadmin; index index.php; fastcgi_index index.php; location ~ \.php$ { include /etc/nginx/fastcgi.conf; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /usr/share/phpmyadmin$fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; } } And everything works properly (if I visit the domain I can login to phpmyadmin). The problem is that it was just for testing phpmyadmin, now I'd like to move this to my 'default' site. But I can't figure out how to have it on /phpmyadmin. Here's the config for the 'default' nginx site (where I'd like to put this /phpmyadmin location): server { server_name blabla; access_log /var/log/nginx/$host.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log; root /var/www/default; index index.php index.html; location / { try_files $uri $uri/ index.php; } location ~ \.php$ { include /etc/nginx/fastcgi.conf; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; } ### NginX Status location /nginx_status { stub_status on; access_log off; } ### FPM Status location ~ ^/(status|ping)$ { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; access_log off; } }

  • Apache override in sub-location

    - by Atmocreations
This is my Apache vHost-configuration: <VirtualHost subversion.domain.com:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName servername.domain.com Documentroot /srv/www/htdocs/svn ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/subversion-error_log CustomLog /var/log/apache2/subversion-access_log combined HostnameLookups Off UseCanonicalName Off ServerSignature Off <Location "/"> AuthBasicProvider ldap AuthType Basic AuthzLDAPAuthoritative on AuthName "SVN" AuthLDAPURL "ldap://myldapurl/..." NONE AuthLDAPBindDN "mybinddn" AuthLDAPBindPassword mypwd DAV svn SVNParentPath /svn/ SVNListParentPath on require ldap-group groupname Order allow, deny Allow from all </Location> </VirtualHost> This works perfectly. But I would now like to add a web-frontend for the subversion server. I therefore added the lines <Location "/web"> DAV off Order allow, deny Allow from all </Location> But they don't work, as the <Location "/">...</Location> part is directing the requests to the SVN/DAV module. Therefore, apache tells that it couldn't open the requested SVN-filsystem. Does anybody know how to override this setting? Any hint is appreciated.

  • Changing SkyDrive default location on Windows 8.1

    - by jmblack
Update: This issue is due to the use of any non-local location for the SkyDrive folder. I've currently worked around this by using a local folder, but this has not resolved the original problem. I am trying to change the location where SkyDrive is located in Windows 8.1. This is the newly integrated SkyDrive, and not a downloadable client. There are a couple of similar questions on this site, but they pertain to Windows 8 and 8.1 Preview: Changing the SkyDrive default path in Windows 8.1 (Windows 8.1 Preview) How do I change the SkyDrive default folder in Windows (Windows 8) The SkyDrive folder is a system folder in 8.1, and like other system folders, has a Location tab in its properties that theoretically lets you change its location. I was able to do this with other system folders such as Downloads and Pictures, but there is an error when I try to change this for SkyDrive. Edit: The location that causes this error is a mapped network drive. The error does not occur when trying to move SkyDrive to another location on the same drive. There are no permission restrictions on the mapped network drive. Edit #2: This is the method I followed that produced the error: A screenshot of the error can be found here Has anyone else encountered this or have any information on this?

  • Possible to have different SSLCACertificateFiles under different Location in Apache (client side ssl certs)

    - by Mikko Ohtamaa
I am setting up Apache to do smartcard authentication. The smartcard login is based on client-side SSL certificates handled by an OS driver. I have currently just one smartcard provider, but in the future there are potentially several of them. I am not sure how Apache 2.2. handles client-side certifications per Location. I did some quick testing and it somehow seemed that only the last SSLCACertificateFile directive would have been effective and this doesn't sound right. Is it possible to have different SSLCACertificateFile per Location in Apache (2.2, 2.4) as described below or is SSL protocol somehow limiting that you cannot have more than one SSLCACertificateFile per IP? Example potential config below how I wish to handle several SSLCACertificateFile on the same server to allow users to log in with different smartcard provides. <VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:443> # Real men use mod_proxy DocumentRoot "/nowhere" ServerName local-apache ServerAdmin [email protected] SSLEngine on SSLOptions +StdEnvVars +ExportCertData # Server-side HTTPS configuration SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/certificate-test/server.crt SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/certificate-test/server.key # Normal SSL site traffic does not require verify client SSLVerifyClient none SSLVerifyDepth 999 # Provider 1 <Location /@@smartcard-login> SSLVerifyClient require SSLCACertificateFile /etc/apache2/certificate-test/ca.crt # Apache does not natively pass forward headers # created by SSLOptions +StdEnvVars, # so we pass them forward to Python using RequestHeader # from mod_headers RequestHeader set X-Client-DN %{SSL_CLIENT_S_DN}e RequestHeader set X-Client-Verify %{SSL_CLIENT_VERIFY}e </Location> # Provider 2 <Location /@@smartcard-login-provider-2> # For real SSLVerifyClient require SSLCACertificateFile /etc/apache2/certificate-test/provider2.crt # Apache does not natively pass forward headers # created by SSLOptions +StdEnvVars, # so we pass them forward to Python using RequestHeader # from mod_headers RequestHeader set X-Client-DN %{SSL_CLIENT_S_DN}e RequestHeader set X-Client-Verify %{SSL_CLIENT_VERIFY}e </Location> # Connect to Plone ZEO client1 running on fg ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/https/local-apache:443/folder_sits/sitsngta/VirtualHostRoot/ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/https/local-apache:443/folder_sits/sitsngta/VirtualHostRoot/ </VirtualHost>

  • mod_perl custom configuration directives don't work when placed in .htaccess and there is <Location>

    - by al_l_ex
I'm trying to complete Redmine's feature request #2693: Use Redmine.pm to authenticate for any directory (1). I have not much knowledge on all these things and need help. Redmine uses mod_perl module Redmine.pm for authentication & authorization. This module defines several custom configuration directives. I've successfully modified patch from (1) and it works when all config is in <Location>: <Location /digischrank/test> AuthType basic AuthName "Digischrank Test" Require valid-user PerlAccessHandler Apache::Authn::Redmine::access_handler PerlAuthenHandler Apache::Authn::Redmine::authen_handler RedmineDSN "DBI:mysql:database=SomedaTaBAse;host=localhost" RedmineDbUser "SoMeuSer" RedmineDbPass "SomePaSS" RedmineProject "digischrank" </Location> But when I move one of these directives (RedmineProject, see (1)) in .htaccess file, Redmine.pm doesn't see it! I've tried to change <Location> to <Directory> and add AllowOverride All. Directives from .htaccess is visible, but remaining ones from <Directory> - not. I don't want to move all directives to each .htaccess. When I add <Location> in addition to <Directory>, again - only directives from <Location> are visible. As far as I know, directives should be merged. I miss something?

  • Javascript for conditional URL append or redirect based on window.location.href

    - by Wintermute
::Hi all:: I am trying to make a bookmarklet that when clicked will check the URL of the current tab\window to see if it contains 'char1' and\or 'char2' (a given character). If both chars are present it redirects to another URL, for the other two it will append the current URL respectively. I believe there must be a more elegant way of stating this than the following (which has so far worked perfectly for me) but I don't have great knowledge of Javascript. My (unwieldy & repetitive) working code (apologies): if (window.location.href.indexOf('char1')!=-1 && window.location.href.indexOf('char2')!=-1) {window.location="https://website.com/";} else if (window.location.href.indexOf('char1')!=-1) {window.location.assign(window.location.href+='append1');} else if (window.location.href.indexOf('char2')!=-1) {window.location.assign(window.location.href+='append2');} Does exactly what I need it to but, well... not very graceful to say the least. Is there a simpler way to do this, perhaps with vars or a pseudo-object? Or better code :D

  • iOS LocationManager is not updating location (Titanium Appcelerator module)

    - by vale4674
I've made Appcelerator Titanium Module for fetching device's rotaion and location. Source can be found on GitHub. The problem is that it fetches only one cached location but device motion data is OK and it is refreshing. I don't use delegate, I pull that data in my Titanium Javascript Code. If I set "City Run" in Simulator - Debug - Location nothing happens. The same cached location is returning. Pulling of location is OK because I tried with native app wich does this: textView.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%f %f\n%@", locationManager.location.coordinate.longitude, locationManager.location.coordinate.latitude, textView.text]; And it is working in simulator and on device. But the same code as you can see on GitHub is not working as Titanium module. Any ideas? EDIT: I am looking at GeolocationModule src and I see nothing special there. As I said, my code in my module has to work since it is working in native app. "Only" problem is that it is not updating location and it always returns me that cached location.

  • Refreshing a MKMapView when the user location is updated or using default values

    - by koichirose
I'm trying to refresh my map view and load new data from the server when the device acquires the user location. Here's what I'm doing: - (void)viewDidLoad { CGRect bounds = self.view.bounds; mapView = [[MKMapView alloc] initWithFrame:bounds]; mapView.showsUserLocation=YES; mapView.delegate=self; [self.view insertSubview:mapView atIndex:0]; [self refreshMap]; } - (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)theMapView didUpdateUserLocation:(MKUserLocation *)userLocation { //this is to avoid frequent updates, I just need one position and don't need to continuously track the user's location if (userLocation.location.horizontalAccuracy > self.myUserLocation.location.horizontalAccuracy) { self.myUserLocation = userLocation; CLLocationCoordinate2D centerCoord = { userLocation.location.coordinate.latitude, userLocation.location.coordinate.longitude }; [theMapView setCenterCoordinate:centerCoord zoomLevel:10 animated:YES]; [self refreshMap]; } } - (void)refreshMap { [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setNetworkActivityIndicatorVisible:YES]; [self.mapView removeAnnotations:self.mapView.annotations]; //default position NSString *lat = @"45.464161"; NSString *lon = @"9.190336"; if (self.myUserLocation != nil) { lat = [[NSNumber numberWithDouble:myUserLocation.coordinate.latitude] stringValue]; lon = [[NSNumber numberWithDouble:myUserLocation.coordinate.longitude] stringValue]; } NSString *url = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"http://myserver/geo_search.json?lat=%@&lon=%@", lat, lon]; NSURLRequest *theRequest=[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:url] cachePolicy:NSURLRequestUseProtocolCachePolicy timeoutInterval:60.0]; [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; [url release]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setNetworkActivityIndicatorVisible:NO]; } I also have a - (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data, to create and add the annotations. Here's what happens: sometimes I get the location after a while, so I already loaded data close to the default location. Then I get the location and it should remove the old annotations and add the new ones, instead I keep seeing the old annotations and the new ones are added anyway (let's say I receive 10 annotations each time, so it means that I have 20 on my map when I should have 10). What am I doing wrong?

  • Fake location for the device (custom)

    - by AtomRiot
I know there are a few apps out there to fake a devices location but specifically what i want to do is use a location grabbed from a url. What direction should I look for setting the location on the device. The scenario i have is a jailbroken Wi-Fi iPad tethered to a nexus one. The nexus one would host a background service that when a request is recieved, it would respond with gps data of its current location. The jailbroken ipad would have a background service that either updated the location on a time interval, or on a per request basis (depending on how i have to implement it) by submitting a request to the tethered nexus one service. That data would then be set on the ipad and an application requesting location would get the service data. The goal is to recreate the location faker app's functionality with the exception of the spoofed location comes from the nexus ones gps via the service but i have not yet found out how to set the location data for the device. I can ofcourse implement this in a per app basis but it would be awesome to have any app be able to use it.

  • Displaying Multimedia Content In A Floating Window Using FancyBox

While surfing the web you may have come across websites with images and other multimedia content that, when clicked, were displayed in a floating window that hovered above the web page. Perhaps it was a page that showed a series of thumbnail images of products for sale, where clicking on a thumbnail displayed the full sized image in a floating window, dimming out the web page behind it. Have you ever wondered how this was accomplished or whether you could add such functionality to your ASP.NET website? In years past, adding such rich client-side functionality to a website required a solid understanding of JavaScript and the "eccentricities" of various web browsers. Today, thanks to powerful JavaScript libraries like jQuery, along with an active developer community creating plugins and tools that integrate with jQuery, it's possible to add snazzy client-side behaviors without being a JavaScript whiz. This article shows how to display text, images, and other multimedia content in a floating window using FancyBox, a free client-side library. You'll learn how it works, see what steps to take to get started using it, and explore a number of FancyBox demos. There's also a demo available for download that shows using FancyBox to display both text and images in a floating window in an ASP.NET website. Read on to learn more! Read More >

  • New Location for .NET 4 GAC

    - by Ricardo Peres
.NET 4 newcomers may have realised that the old GAC location (%WINDIR%\Assembly) does not contain .NET 4 global assembly cache assemblies. Indeed, they have moved to %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET\Assembly. It is worth noting that this folder does not use the shell extension that the older one uses, which prevents us from directly looking at the folder's contents, which, IMO, is nice (I mean, the new behavior). The old folder continues to host pre-.NET 4 assemblies.

  • Chrome window controls in xubuntu 12.04

I'm a long time ubuntu 10.04 LTS user, very used to having window controls on top left borders. New computer with new video card requires newer kernel. Unity doesn't suit and much googling turned up recommendations for xubuntu. Installed 12.04 and first aggravation is window controls at upper right a la Windows. No problem ... Settings Manager - Windows Manager - rearrange button layout Fixes everything until ... I abandoned firefox long ago because of memory leak issues and general fat. I fetch a current version of chrome (19.0.1084.52) and install. Once adblock is added and it's the default browser, everything's great. Except ... Alone among all applications, chrome will not honour the window manager's preferred button layout. Buttons are at upper right no matter what I try. Uninstall and then reinstall: nope. Trawl through /home/user/.config/google-chrome/* looking for a likely setting: nope. Search the web: nothing useful. How do I get chrome's window decoration in sync? Thanks very much for any and all help.
