• Insert hex string value to sql server binary field is appending extra 0

  Have a binary field and want to insert into this from a hex string: insert into binaryTable(binaryField) values(convert(varbinary(max), 0x0)) however when I run select the value is return with an extra 0 as 0x00 This extra 0 is causing a problem in another application, I dont want it. Interesting, is if I do a select on an existing value and it returns say 0x55 then inserting this same value using the above query will return a select of 0x055. How to stop the extra 0 being added?

  I am playing around with PHPFog and as a result I ended up with a MySql database. I am trying to figure out how to connect to it with a success message. PHPFog says use this: mysql_connect( $server = getenv('MYSQL_DB_HOST'), $username = getenv('MYSQL_USERNAME'), $password = getenv('MYSQL_PASSWORD')); mysql_select_db(getenv('MYSQL_DB_NAME')); So I basically plug my variables into the above?   What's the best way to add foreign keys to my existing tables in Rails with an underlying MySQL database? clearly the solution should be done in a migration, as I want this versioned. Otherwise I'd create the constraints myself. I can't seem to find one, conducive response to they above. Again, the tables have already been created with previous migrations. I'm just going back now and adding referential integrity wherever it's applicable.

  I found out this morning that proc.new works in a class initialize method, but not lambda.   Hi Guys, I am building a widget for my users and trying to get it working however I keep running into a X-Domain issue with this header. httpfox gives me - NS_ERROR_DOM_BAD_URI - and on further investigation I find that its Access-Control-Request-Method: GET Access-Control-Request-Header: x-requested-with I am not sure why its not loading but I basically call a script and then I am trying to grab some html to load it but it gets blocked with the above headers. How can I get around this prob ?

  My query is essentially the following: entries=Entry.all().order("-votes").order("-date").filter("votes >", VOTE_FILTER).fetch(PAGE_SIZE+1, page* PAGE_SIZE) I want to grab N of the latest entries that have a voting score above some benchmark (VOTE_FILTER). Google currently says that I cannot filter on 'votes' because I order by 'date.' I don't see a way that I can do this the way I want to, so I'd appreciate any advice.
